Schedule an Appointment

All applicants are required book an appointment online to submit their visa application at the Joint Schengen visa application center.

Important: As part of the visa application procedure, from 2 November 2015 applicants will need to provide Biometric fingerprint data along with a digital photograph. If you have temporary injuries on your fingers, applicants are advised to wait until the injuries have healed before you book your appointment. Henna on fingertips may also mean we are unable to get a clear scanned image and should be removed or allowed to fade before your appointment date.

The following applicants shall be exempt from the requirement to give fingerprints:

  1. children under the age of 12;  No biometrics is taken but child under 12 years live photo is captured.
  2. persons for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible. If the fingerprinting of fewer than 10 fingers is possible, the maximum number of fingerprints shall be taken. However, should the impossibility be temporary, the applicant shall be required to give the fingerprints at the following application. The competent authorities shall be entitled to ask for further clarification of the grounds for the temporary impossibility.
  3. heads of State or government and members of a national government (Ministers and Ministers of State only) with accompanying spouses, and the members of their official delegation when they are invited by Member States’ governments or by international organizations for an official purpose; This list is mandatory and exhaustive. Holders of diplomatic passports are not exempted as such from the fingerprinting requirement. They may be exempted if they are members of the official delegation of heads of State/ members of a national government invited for an official purpose.

Before you make an appointment you should carefully read the visa application process available on the website to submit your visa application and supporting documents at the visa application center.

If you have missed your appointment on the scheduled day, the system will not allow you to reschedule or cancel and you will require to book a new appointment after 24 hours.

Please make sure you arrive at the visa application center 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. Applicants are not allowed to be accompanied inside the visa application center. The only exceptions to this are those accompanying children under 18 years-of-age or applicants who need special assistance for health reasons or disability.

If you are part of a family or group, each member of the family or group must make an individual appointment. For example, if you are a family of 4 with 2 adults and 2 children you must make 4 individual appointments.

VFS appointment system is compatible with most popular browsers. VFS will soon introduce appointment scheduling through call Centre for the ease of applicants.

Please Note:

The appointment allows you to submit your Visa Application, however you will be served as per the token provided to you at the Visa Application Centre.

Please be available at the Visa Application Centre, not more than 10 minutes before the appointed time.

Prime Time Service

Apply for your visa outside of regular working days!

Prime time appointment bookings allow applicants to make an appointment at the New Delhi Application Centre at a convenient time, on Saturday, at an additional cost for each appointment.

Applicants can either book this service online while scheduling their appointment using the ‘Schedule an appointment’ module by selecting dates on Saturday OR by visiting to our VFS Application centre where payment can be made by cash. Prime time appointments will be available Saturday between 09:00 hrs - 16:00 hrs.
