Welcome to the website of the VFS Visa Application Centre for Norway in Algeria. This site provides information on procedures applicable to all nationalities who need a Schengen visa to travel to Norway, Denmark and Iceland. VFS Global is a commercial company, working as a privately-run service company, authorized by the Embassy of Norway to provide the users with complete information on procedure and requirements for visa and to collect the visa applications. However, any assessment and decision on visa is taken by the Embassy only.

  • Requirement of negative Covid-19 test and quarantine when entering Norway

    The Norwegian Government has implemented new regulations on entry to Norway due to the spread of COVID-19.

    The regulations are connected to pre-arrival Covid-19 test and quarantine after arrival. The regulations are in force as of 09 November 2020.

  • More family members who live outside the EU/ EEA can now travel to Norway.

    The government has announced that it will be possible for more family members residing outside the EU/ EEA to travel to Norway from 21 October 2020. Before applying for your visa, please read the complete information here.

  • Family members and boyfriend/girlfriend of Norwegians may now come to Norway to visit. Norway opening for some visa categories from 15 July 2020

    Starting 15 July 2020, the Government allows the entry of foreign nationals from countries outside the EU/EEA (referred to as third-country nationals) who have family or an established romantic relationship in Norway. You may still be required to quarantine after your arrival to Norway. Please see [here] for more information.

    Who can apply for a visa to Norway now:

    Foreign national who can document place of stay for quarantine according to Covid-19-regulation § 5, first paragraph, and who has the following relation to a person residing in Norway:

    • Spouse, registered partner or cohabitant
    • Child or stepchild under 21 to a person residing in Norway
    • Parent or stepparent to a child under 21 residing in Norway
    • Boyfriend/girlfriend who have been in the relationship for a period of at least nine months. Parties are required to have met each other physically. The person who lives in Norway must submit a self-declaration which the relationship partner must present on arrival in Norway, confirming that the two requirements have been met. A copy of the form shall be submitted together with the application for a visa.

    Importance of documentation:

    Please note that all normal requirements for Schengen-visas still apply. The lists of documentation requirements are available on VFS’ webpages. In addition, when handing in your application at VFS, you must prove that you are in one of the categories mentioned above. If not, VFS are instructed to refuse to receive your application.

    The visa application Center for Norway will be open only on Sundays from 08:30 hrs to 13:30 hrs until further notice.

    Due to the current situation related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the VFS Global team for Norway has put in place additional measures to guarantee the health and safety of all.

    Wearing a mask is compulsory in the center.

    People with a temperature above 37.3 ° C cannot be admitted and must postpone their procedure.

    Cleaning of hands with the help of hand sanitizer (available at the center) is compulsory at each stage of the procedure at the center.

    Respect for social distancing (at least 1 m between each person)

    Companions/Guides will not be able to access the center.
