RESIDENCE PERMIT

Overview

Algerian citizens need a residence permit to work or settle in Norway if their planned stay lasts more than 90 days (3 months).

The applicable provisions are as follows:

  • EU / EEA nationals do not need a residence permit to stay or work in Norway. On the other hand, all nationals of these countries who stay in Norway for more than three months must report to the police.
  • If you are a national of a non-EU / EEA state and you want to work in Norway or stay there for more than 90 days, you must have a residence permit.

In general, the Directorate of Immigration (UDI) is the body that handles the processing of residence permit applications.
