Visa applications for UK residents are to be submitted at the Norway Visa Application Centres in London or Edinburgh. All visa applications will be assessed by the Embassy of Norway in London. The Visa Application Centres are operated by VF Services (UK) Limited.

  • Based on the Norwegian Institute of Public Health’s assessment of the COVID-19 situation, the Norwegian Government has decided to change the travel advice for the UK. All travelers from the UK who arrive in Norway from 22 August will have to quarantine for 10 days. Please see the Norwegian Institute of Public Health website for more information. The change in the travel advice and quarantine measures will be effective from 12 AM Saturday 22 August. Read more here.

  • Family members and boyfriend/girlfriend of Norwegians may now come to Norway to visit. Norway opening for some visa categories from July 15th

    Starting 15th of July, the Government allows the entry of foreign nationals from countries outside the EU/EEA (referred to as third-country nationals) who have family or an established romantic relationship in Norway. You may still be required to quarantine after your arrival to Norway. Please see here for more information.

    Who can apply for a visa to Norway now:

    Foreign national who can document place of stay for quarantine according to Covid-19-regulation § 5, first paragraph, and who has the following relation to a person residing in Norway:

    • Spouse, registered partner or cohabitant
    • Child or stepchild under 21 to a person residing in Norway
    • Parent or stepparent to a child under 21 residing in Norway
    • Boyfriend/girlfriend who have been in the relationship for a period of at least nine months. Parties are required to have met each other physically. The person who lives in Norway must submit a self-declaration which the relationship partner must present on arrival in Norway, confirming that the two requirements have been met. A copy of the form shall be submitted together with the application for a visa.

    Importance of documentation:

    Please note that all normal requirements for Schengen-visas still apply. The lists of documentation requirements are available on VFS’ webpages. In addition, when handing in your application at VFS, you must prove that you are in one of the categories mentioned above. If not, VFS are instructed to refuse to receive your application.

  • Norway Centre in London and Edinburgh/ United Kingdom re-opens for Resident Permit and Schengen Visa applications.

    • Effective 16th July 2020, customers can submit both Resident Permit and Schengen Visa applications at the Norway Application Centre in London & Edinburgh, United Kingdom by prior appointment.
    • Your safety is our priority. As part of precautionary measures, customers visiting our Application Centres are required to wear face mask and gloves.
    • Customers exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, including cough and difficulty breathing will be allowed to reschedule their application submission for another day and will be advised to seek medical attention.

    Please also note that:

    1. Limited number of customers will be allowed inside the Application Centre at any one time. A pre booked appointment is required.
    2. Only the main applicant will be allowed inside the Centre.

  • Increased fees for visa applications

    Please note: As of 02 February 2020 the Schengen visa fee per person (Short Stay Visa) will increase from 60 to 80 euros or the equivalent amount in your local currency. For children between 6-12 years old the visa fee will increase to 40 euros or equivalent

  • Please ensure that the online application form, click Here, is duly completed and that a signed printout of the application form is brought when attending the appointment . Application forms obtained from any other source will not be accepted.
  • Please also ensure that you make payment for the visa fee online only when filling in the online application form. Please note it is not possible to make payment at the Visa Application Centre for the visa fee. Please also ensure that you print the receipt/proof of payment and bring with you when attending for your appointment.
