Overview
please be informed that applicant must send his/her passport directly to the Croatian Embassy in Cairo through any Courier company AFTER SUBMISSION at our center. All the movement of passport will be by applicant own responsibility.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

Pursuant to the Government’s Decision, the Republic of Croatia decided to apply Decision No. 565/2016/EU according to which all visitors holders of valid Schengen documents do not require an additional (Croatian) visa to enter Croatia..
Visitors who are holders of:
- uniform visa (C) for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member States;
- visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa), for two or multiple entries, issued to the holder of a travel document that is not recognised by one or more, but not all of the Schengen Area Member States, and which is valid for the territory of the Member States recognising the travel document;
- long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
- residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
do not require a visa for transit or intended stays in the territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.

The period of validity of the above mentioned Schengen documents must cover the duration of the transit or stay.
Information for the holders of the Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen
A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.
The visa shall not entitle a visitor to enter the Republic of Croatia.
A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa. -

Persons exempt from visa fee:
- Members of the immediate family of a Croatian citizen (spouse and children),
- Members of families of citizens of EU Member States and EEA,
- Children up to the age of 12,
- Holders of diplomatic and service passports travelling in official capacity,
- Pupils, students, postgraduate students and teachers accompanying them when traveling to school, university and professional training,
- Researchers travelling to do research as noted in Recommendation 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 28 September 2005,
- Representatives of non-profit organizations up to the age of 25 travelling to attend seminars, conferences, sport, culture or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
For citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cape Verde, Georgia, Moldova (holders of non-biometric passports), Ukraine and Russian Federation, visa fee is 35 EUR.

A visa is the approval for transit through the territory of the Republic of Croatia or for entering the Republic of Croatia and staying up to three months in each six-month period counting from the date of the first entry.
It is issued for one, two or more entries. The expiry date depends on the circumstances and cannot exceed five years.
The possession of a visa does not grant the entry into the Republic of Croatia. Other legal requirements must also be met. A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa. The applicants are requested to read the basic requirements carefully and conform to the same while submitting the application. The applicant may, however, be asked to provide additional documents, if required, by the Embassy.
- Visa application form: to be filled out and signed by the applicant, or a parent or legal guardian on behalf of minors.
- Passport: issued within the last 10 years, with expiry date exceeding the expiry date of the requested visa by a minimum of three months, and containing at least two empty pages. Please copy all previous (valid and expired) visas and used pages.
- Face photograph: in colour, 35x45 mm, printed on normal photographic paper, taken against a light background; full face taken straight forward 30-36 mm from point of the chin to the head of hair; the person is to be captured with neutral facial expression, with his/her eyes open and mouth closed. The photograph of a person, who for religious or medical reasons is wearing a head cover, must show the person's cheeks, chin and forehead.
- Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Croatia during the entire stay in Croatia.
- Proof of residence for nationals other than the country of application - a photocopy of the stay permit.
- Cover letter: explaining the purpose of the trip with itinerary and detailed location(s) as per duration of stay in Croatia. Cover letter should preferably contain as many details as possible about what is the applicant planning to visit / see in Croatia, is he traveling alone or in company and any other information about the planned visit that the applicant may wish to add.
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: return travel ticket for airplane, bus, or boat; registration card and driver's license if travelling by car; If the person is travelling to a third country, then proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).
- Proof of the purpose of stay in Croatia: Certificate of a paid tourist package, booking of a hotel or other accommodation, day to day itinerary with ensured accommodation for the entire stay etc.
- Financial documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state. The supporting documents may include: pay slip and/or bank account statements about the balance and transactions on your bank account in the last three months, a pension slip, proof of scholarship received etc.
- Proof of current social and professional status in native country. The applicant shall also submit an appropriate certificate of his/her social and professional status: certificate of employment, certificate of school attendance, certificate from the companies register for tradesmen etc. For minors and persons without their own resources, an authenticated certificate shall be submitted stating that a parent or other person shall cover the expenses, with a proof of the social and professional status of the person offering to cover the expenses and a proof that such a person has the resources.
- Accommodation: hotel booking, private or other accommodation, real estate title deed or lease, proof of ownership or lease of a boat etc.
- For minors, a legal guardian shall submit the following: birth certificate, if the parents are the legal guardians, or the decision of the competent authority on appointing the legal guardian. If a minor is traveling without a legal guardian, (s)he must carry a notarized consent of a legal guardian that shall contain personal information of the legal guardian and the purpose, the period and length of stay in Croatia, the period for which the consent is issued, and the signature of the legal guardian.
The applicant for a multiple-entry visa must have travel health-insurance policy that covers the period of the first visit to Croatia. In addition a statement, declaring the awareness of the need to be in possession of travel medical insurance for subsequent stays, shall be signed (on the prescribed form*).

Processing Time
Standard visa processing time is up to 15 days from the receipt of the application at the Embassy (it could be shorter, depending on the documentation). However, in case the documents are not submitted as per requirement or due to other factors or justified reasons, the processing time may be extended to 30 or 60 days.
Status queries will be responded after the above time frame only and shall be primarily addressed to the VFS-office of application or by e-mail to: croemb.cairo@mvep.hr
For citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cape Verde, Georgia, Moldova (holders of non-biometric passports), Ukraine and Russian Federation, visa processing time is up to 10 days. - Proof of the purpose of stay in Croatia: Original Letter of guarantee filled out by a guarantor – legal person from Croatia (format Jamstveno pismo pravne osobe**) (processing can start with the scan copy of the Letter but for issuance of visa, if approved, original of the same has to be submitted). Guarantor – legal person must enclose to the Letter of guarantee a document proving its liquidity (“Bon 1”, “Bon 2”, certificate of the commercial court that no liquidation proceedings have been initiated, etc.). Both letters can be deposited at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in Croatia, in which case the original is not required.
Letter of invitation
A foreign citizen coming to Croatia at the invitation of a Croatian national authority to attend an international conference of public interest or to participate in an event held under the auspices of the Croatian Parliament, the Croatian President and the Croatian Government, shall submit a Letter of Invitation of the Croatian national authority or the organizer of the international event with the visa application.

- Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ankara prior to a decision being made on your application
- Embassy also reserves the right to ask for additional supporting documents during the visa application process.
- Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
- An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present a photocopy of the Letter of Guarantee in case of both private and business visits, and it is therefore recommendable to carry the Letter of Guarantee, as well as the proof of having sufficient funds, in hand baggage.
- The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
- A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
- The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
- An Embassy/Consular Post may invite the applicant to an interview; require him/her to submit further documents and/or certified translation as well as the international certification (apostille) of the documents.
- Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

Information for the holders of the Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen
A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.
The visa shall not entitle a visitor to enter the Republic of Croatia.
A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa.

A visa is the approval for transit through the territory of the Republic of Croatia or for entering the Republic of Croatia and staying up to three months in each six-month period counting from the date of the first entry.
It is issued for one, two or more entries. The expiry date depends on the circumstances and cannot exceed five years.
The possession of a visa does not grant the entry into the Republic of Croatia. Other legal requirements must also be met. A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa. The applicants are requested to read the basic requirements carefully and conform to the same while submitting the application. The applicant may, however, be asked to provide additional documents, if required, by the Embassy.
- Visa application form: to be filled out and signed by the applicant, or a parent or legal guardian on behalf of minors.
- Passport: issued within the last 10 years, with expiry date exceeding the expiry date of the requested visa by a minimum of three months, and containing at least two empty pages. Please copy all previous (valid and expired) visas and used pages.
- Face photograph: in colour, 35x45 mm, printed on normal photographic paper, taken against a light background; full face taken straight forward 30-36 mm from point of the chin to the head of hair; the person is to be captured with neutral facial expression, with his/her eyes open and mouth closed. The photograph of a person, who for religious or medical reasons is wearing a head cover, must show the person's cheeks, chin and forehead.
- Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Croatia during the entire stay in Croatia.
- Proof of residence for nationals other than the country of application - a photocopy of the stay permit.
- Cover letter: explaining the purpose of the trip and duration of stay. If the inviting person is not family related Cover letter should explain the relationship to the inviting person, how long do you know each other and where and how did you meet.
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: return travel ticket for airplane, bus, or boat; registration card and driver's license if travelling by car; If the person is travelling to a third country, then proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).
- Proof of the purpose of stay in Croatia: Original Letter of guarantee filled out by a guarantor – natural person from Croatia (format Jamstveno pismo fizičke
osobe**) (processing can start with the scan copy of the Letter but for issuance of visa, if approved, original of the same has to be submitted). Guarantor – natural person may
be a Croatian national or a foreigner with granted residence in Croatia, who receives income or has financial means in the Republic of Croatia. Guarantor – natural person must
enclose to the Letter of guarantee a proof of continuous source of income in the Republic of Croatia during the last three months (certificate of salary, certificate of pension)
or a corresponding proof of possessing funds in the bank. Guarantor’s signature on the Letter of guarantee must be certified by a public notary in Croatia.

- Financial documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state. The supporting documents may include: pay slip and/or bank account statements about the balance and transactions on your bank account in the last three months, a pension slip, proof of scholarship received etc.
- Proof of current social and professional status in native country. The applicant shall also submit an appropriate certificate of his/her social and professional status: certificate of employment, certificate of school attendance, certificate from the companies register for tradesmen etc. For minors and persons without their own resources, an authenticated certificate shall be submitted stating that a parent or other person shall cover the expenses, with a proof of the social and professional status of the person offering to cover the expenses and a proof that such a person has the resources.
- Accommodation: hotel booking or accommodation can be provided by the guarantor if so indicated in the Letter of Guarantee.
- For minors, a legal guardian shall submit the following: birth certificate, if the parents are the legal guardians, or the decision of the competent authority on appointing the legal guardian. If a minor is traveling without a legal guardian, (s)he must carry a notarized consent of a legal guardian that shall contain personal information of the legal guardian and the purpose, the period and length of stay in Croatia, the period for which the consent is issued, and the signature of the legal guardian.
The applicant for a multiple-entry visa must have travel health-insurance policy that covers the period of the first visit to Croatia. In addition a statement, declaring the awareness of the need to be in possession of travel medical insurance for subsequent stays, shall be signed (on the prescribed form*).

Processing Time
Standard visa processing time is up to 15 days from the receipt of the application at the Embassy (it could be shorter, depending on the documentation). Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.

A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.
The visa shall not entitle a visitor to enter the Republic of Croatia.
A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa.

A visa is the approval for transit through the territory of the Republic of Croatia or for entering the Republic of Croatia and staying up to three months in each six-month period counting from the date of the first entry.
It is issued for one, two or more entries. The expiry date depends on the circumstances and cannot exceed five years.
The possession of a visa does not grant the entry into the Republic of Croatia. Other legal requirements must also be met. A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa. The applicants are requested to read the basic requirements carefully and conform to the same while submitting the application. The applicant may, however, be asked to provide additional documents, if required, by the Embassy.
- Visa application form: to be filled out and signed by the applicant, or a parent or legal guardian on behalf of minors.
- Passport: issued within the last 10 years, with expiry date exceeding the expiry date of the requested visa by a minimum of three months, and containing at least two empty pages. Please copy all previous (valid and expired) visas and used pages.
- Face photograph: in colour, 35x45 mm, printed on normal photographic paper, taken against a light background; full face taken straight forward 30-36 mm from point of the chin to the head of hair; the person is to be captured with neutral facial expression, with his/her eyes open and mouth closed. The photograph of a person, who for religious or medical reasons is wearing a head cover, must show the person's cheeks, chin and forehead.
- Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Croatia during the entire stay in Croatia.
- Proof of residence for nationals other than the country of application - a photocopy of the stay permit.
- Cover letter: explaining the purpose of the trip and duration of stay.
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: return travel ticket for airplane, bus, or boat; registration card and driver's license if travelling by car.
- Valid visa for the destination country.
- Financial documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state. The supporting documents may include: pay slip and/or bank account statements about the balance and transactions on your bank account in the last three months, a pension slip, proof of scholarship received etc.
- Proof of current social and professional status in native country. The applicant shall also submit an appropriate certificate of his/her social and professional status: certificate of employment, certificate of school attendance, certificate from the companies register for tradesmen etc. For minors and persons without their own resources, an authenticated certificate shall be submitted stating that a parent or other person shall cover the expenses, with a proof of the social and professional status of the person offering to cover the expenses and a proof that such a person has the resources.
- For minors, a legal guardian shall submit the following: birth certificate, if the parents are the legal guardians, or the decision of the competent authority on appointing the legal guardian. If a minor is traveling without a legal guardian, (s)he must carry a notarized consent of a legal guardian that shall contain personal information of the legal guardian and the purpose, the period and length of stay in Croatia, the period for which the consent is issued, and the signature of the legal guardian.
The applicant for a multiple-entry visa must have travel health-insurance policy that covers the period of the first visit to Croatia. In addition a statement, declaring the awareness of the need to be in possession of travel medical insurance for subsequent stays, shall be signed (on the prescribed form*).

Processing Time
Standard visa processing time is up to 15 days from the receipt of the application at the Embassy (it could be shorter, depending on the documentation). However, in case the documents are not submitted as per requirement or due to other factors or justified reasons, the processing time may be extended to 30 or 60 days.

please be informed that applicant must send his/her passport directly to the Croatian Embassy in Cairo through any Courier company AFTER SUBMISSION at our center. All the movement of passport will be by applicant own responsibility.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

- long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
- residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;

A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.

- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: return travel ticket for airplane, bus, or boat; registration card and driver's license if travelling by car. If the person is travelling to a third country, then proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).
- Proof of the purpose of stay in Croatia: Invitation letter from the clinic or hospital signed by the doctor confirming the down payment or deposit for the medical services to be rendered.
- Financial documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state. The supporting documents may include: pay slip and/or bank account statements about the balance and transactions on your bank account in the last three months, a pension slip, proof of scholarship received etc.
- Proof of current social and professional status in native country. The applicant shall also submit an appropriate certificate of his/her social and professional status: certificate of employment, certificate of school attendance, certificate from the companies register for tradesmen etc. For minors and persons without their own resources, an authenticated certificate shall be submitted stating that a parent or other person shall cover the expenses, with a proof of the social and professional status of the person offering to cover the expenses and a proof that such a person has the resources.
- Accommodation: hotel booking or other accommodation.
- For minors, a legal guardian shall submit the following: birth certificate, if the parents are the legal guardians, or the decision of the competent authority on appointing the legal guardian. If a minor is traveling without a legal guardian, (s)he must carry a notarized consent of a legal guardian that shall contain personal information of the legal guardian and the purpose, the period and length of stay in Croatia, the period for which the consent is issued, and the signature of the legal guardian.
The applicant for a multiple-entry visa must have travel health-insurance policy that covers the period of the first visit to Croatia. In addition a statement, declaring the awareness of the need to be in possession of travel medical insurance for subsequent stays, shall be signed (on the prescribed form*).

please be informed that applicant must send his/her passport directly to the Croatian Embassy in Cairo through any Courier company AFTER SUBMISSION at our center. All the movement of passport will be by applicant own responsibility.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

Important notice
Pursuant to the Government’s Decision, the Republic of Croatia decided to apply Decision No. 565/2016/EU according to which all visitors holders of valid Schengen documents do not require an additional (Croatian) visa to enter Croatia..
Visitors who are holders of:
- uniform visa (C) for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member States;
- visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa), for two or multiple entries, issued to the holder of a travel document that is not recognised by one or more, but not all of the Schengen Area Member States, and which is valid for the territory of the Member States recognising the travel document;
- long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
- residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
do not require a visa for transit or intended stays in the territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.

The period of validity of the above mentioned Schengen documents must cover the duration of the transit or stay.
Information for the holders of the Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen
A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stays in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.
The visa shall not entitle a visitor to enter the Republic of Croatia.
A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa.

Persons exempt from visa fee:
- Members of the immediate family of a Croatian citizen (spouse and children),
- Members of families of citizens of EU Member States and EEA,

A visa is the approval for transit through the territory of the Republic of Croatia or for entering the Republic of Croatia and staying up to three months in each six-month period counting from the date of the first entry.
It is issued for one, two or more entries. The expiry date depends on the circumstances and cannot exceed five years.
The possession of a visa does not grant the entry into the Republic of Croatia. Other legal requirements must also be met. A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa. The applicants are requested to read the basic requirements carefully and conform to the same while submitting the application. The applicant may, however, be asked to provide additional documents, if required, by the Embassy.
- Visa application form: to be filled out and signed by the applicant.
- Passport: issued within the last 10 years, with expiry date exceeding the expiry date of the requested visa by a minimum of three months, and containing at least two empty pages. Please copy all previous (valid and expired) visas and used pages.
- Face photograph: in colour, 35x45 mm, printed on normal photographic paper, taken against a light background; full face taken straight forward 30-36 mm from point of the chin to the head of hair; the person is to be captured with neutral facial expression, with his/her eyes open and mouth closed. - Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Croatia during the entire stay in Croatia.
- Proof of residence for nationals other than the country of application - a photocopy of the stay permit.
- Cover letter: explaining the purpose of the trip and duration of stay.
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: return travel ticket for airplane, bus, or boat; registration card and driver's license if travelling by car; If the person is travelling to a third country, then proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).

Proof of the purpose of stay in Croatia: Original Letter of guarantee filled out by a guarantor – legal person from Croatia (format Jamstveno pismo pravne osobe**) (processing can start with the scan copy of the Letter but for issuance of visa, if approved, original of the same has to be submitted). Guarantor – legal person must enclose to the Letter of guarantee a document proving its liquidity (“Bon 1”, “Bon 2”, certificate of the commercial court that no liquidation proceedings have been initiated, etc.). The Letter of guarantee must be signed by the person authorized to represent the guarantor and certified by official stamp.
