Overview
Employee Card is required for citizens of the so-called third countries who will be employed in the Czech Republic for more than three months.
Employee Card is issued for a specific job position. Vacancies available to foreign nationals are displayed in a central vacancies database.
To file an Employee Card application, the applicant needs to know the vacancy reference number = the number under which the position is registered in the central vacancies database.
Comprehensive information on foreign employment is available at the website of the Labor Office of the Czech Republic.

Visa Fees
Amount Visa fee 5000 CZK (Czech Koruna) Visa fee is paid in Belarussian rubles at the rate agreed additionally on the day of payment.
Service fee:
Apart from the visa fee, VFS service charge in BYN of the equivalent of 20 Euros for submission inclusive of VAT per application will be levied for customers applying at the visa application center.

Application form for employee card
Must be filled in and signed personally by the applicant

Passport
- Passport must be submitted in the original (including other valid passports)
- Copy of all pages with notes and previous visas
- Not older than 10 years (extended passports are not accepted)

Validity of passport should be at least 3 months after the expected visa expiration. Visa with the purpose of obtaining residence permit is issued to applicant for 60 days within period of 180 days.
Example of passport validity calculation is below: day of documents submission with complete set+period from 60 to 90 days for decision making process regarding issuance of residence permit by Ministry of Internal Affairs of Czech Republic + period from 1 to 14 days for collection of visa for employee card issuance at CG of Czech Republic in Lviv + 180 days of the issued visa.

Confirmation of accommodation on the territory of Czech Republic
Relevant document should prove that accommodation will be provided to applicant for the period of the needful stay from –to or indefinitely. This document can be:
Original or notarized copy of accommodation agreement, rent agreement, subtenancy contract or contracts with the similar content. In such cases there is no need to certify signatures of both sides (applicant can ask to return this document on the stage of application submission) or
Prove from physical party which is authorized to act on behalf of juridical party, or which is the owner or authorized habitant of the house/apartment
Or
Certificate issued to foreigner on the owner’s request – in this case signatures should be certified.
Details of article d) of the Act No. 326/1999 Coll. on the Residence of Foreign Nationals in the Czech Republic:
Landlord is obliged to ensure that foreigner’s accommodation that is not manifestly unreasonable level accommodation provided in buildings other owners of similar destination in the village or district or region. Comparison of levels of accommodation is done in particular by examining the adequacy of number of persons with regard to secured sanitary conditions, and the floor area of the room for accommodation, which must be at least 1) 8 m 2, it is accommodated by one person, 2) 12.6 m 2 when two people stay, to any other person accommodated in the floor area of 5 m 2 is added

Contract of employment, an agreement on work activity or an agreement for a future contract
(in this case applicant should submit both original and notarized copy of the document; original is returned back at the moment of documents submission). Parties agree to enter into a contract of employment or an agreement on work activity by an agreed deadline. The aforementioned documents must contain a stipulation which provides that regardless of the scope of work, the agreed monthly salary will not be lower than the basic monthly minimum wage and that weekly working hours will be at least 15 hours.
These documents can be substituted by the letter in case of foreign customer which are transferred to work on the territory of Czech Republic by the foreign employer and do not conclude agreement with domestic employer. Foreigner must provide these documents in Czech language and translation should be notarized, clear and understandable to foreigner or should be translated into language which is clear to a foreigner with notarized translation into Czech language.

Criminal Records Certificate in Belarus (Full)
In case a foreigner lived constantly in any country for 6 months or more in the previous three years, Consulate General has a right to ask for submission of a Criminal History Record issued by that country. Here the crucial fact is that residence permit in another country is issued for more than 6 months, and not the period of applicant’s stay in this country.
In case applicant changed his/her surname or name in the past, he/she should provide certificate for all previous surnames/names.

Document proving the purpose of stay
In this case applicant must submit both original and notarized copy; original is returned back to the applicant while documents submission:
- Documents proving the professional qualifications for performance of the desired job
- Work permit if needed
- Document confirming about employment of a foreigner according to Article §98 of Law on employment
- Document proving that you meet the requirements for performing an occupation referred to as “regulated occupation”, if your application concerns this kind of occupation
Work permit abroad according to the Law on Employment № 435/2004 Sb., demands the following:
- In case a foreigner whose employer is a foreign juridical entity and who is employer on the ground of agreement with Czech juridical entity or is a physical person which is supposed to perform working activity on the territory of Czech Republic
- Or in case if foreigner is going to be employed as seasonal worker but for the period of not more than 6 months in the calendar year in, if the period of not less than 6 months will be between two different working activities; who will be employed for the whole period in order to improve his/her skills and qualification in the chosen activity (probation) but for the period not longer than 6 months. This period can be prolonged, but not more than the period needed for obtaining professional qualification as per legislation in Czech Republic
Important information:
Entry visa for getting residence permit is issued for the period of 6 months with up to 60 days of allowed stay in Czech Republic. Upon arrival to Czech Republic, foreigner should personally visit an office of the Ministry of the Interior in order to submit application for residence permit issuance, but not later than within 3 working days. Such residence permit will be issued within 60 days.
Valid residence permit allows its holder to stay up to 90 days on the territory of other Schengen countries apart of Czech Republic within 180 days period.
All submitted documents for cannot be older than 180 days, except for the travel passport, matrix documents and photos (if they show the current appearance of the applicant).
All documents in a foreign language must be submitted with an officially certified translation into the Czech language.
Applicant should pay visa and service fees.
Application for obtaining employee card is being processed by Ministry of Internal Affairs and may take time generally to 60 days from the moment of submission date, in more complex cases within 90 days.
If case processing is being suspended, the period is not counted (e.g. due to necessity of submitting missing documents).
Generally, it is issued for the duration of the employer-employee relationship but not for more than 2 years, with an option to repeatedly extend its validity. In case an applicant submits work permit, employee card is issued for the period which is indicated in this work permit.

Photo Specifications
A Photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (preferably maximum 6 months old)
- Must be a colour photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm
- Close up to your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph
- Taken against a light background
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Processing Time
The legal processing time for employment cards is 60 days. In exceptional cases or when requesting a binding opinion of the Labor Office of the Czech Republic, the legal processing time can be extended to 90 days.

APPLICATION FORM FOR EMPLOYEE CARD – You are required to indicate, among others, the vacancy reference number, i.e. the number under which the position is registered in the vacancies database. This database displays vacancies for which foreign nationals can apply. The reference number is displayed in the database along with the job title.
According to the Law of Republic of Belarus About personal information, Personal Data Information Protection Agreement has been introduced and is required to be signed by each applicant applying for a visa through the Visa Centres. For minors this agreement should be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian. We pay you attention that such agreement has to be signed personally by the applicant.
