Photo Specifications
Applicants need to submit your application form with the new photo format, as explained below:
General
The photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).
- Use plain light-white background.
- The photo must be no more than 6-months old.
- Not tilted picture (portrait style) showing both edges of face clearly.
- Close up of the head and top of the shoulders so that the face takes up 70–80% of the photograph.
- Photo in sharp focus and clear.
Photo Size
The photo for each visa applicant submitted must measure:
- The picture dimensions must be 240 pixels wide by 320 pixels high at least. A smaller picture will be rejected. For instance, a photo being 235 pixels by 320 pixels is not valid.
- On the other hand, the photo should keep a proportion of 3 x 4 (width x height) within limits. However, 250 x 340 pixels picture would be valid, but not a 290 x 340 pixels one.
- Finally, the image weight (size in Kbytes) can never be bigger than 120 Kbytes. Finally, the image weight (size in Kbytes) can never be bigger than 120 Kbytes.
Resolution
- An image resolution is measured in DPI (dots per inch) and it's mainly used to control printing quality. Therefore, higher resolution means better printing quality.
- Photos resolution should be 300 dpi, so, when you scan the image, check this parameter carefully. However, bear in mind that the higher the resolution, the bigger the picture.
- The only image format accepted is JPEG (Join Photograph Expert Grup Format). The other image formats such as BMP, TIFF, GIF, PNG, etc. will be rejected (a warning will be shown).
- Attaching the Photo to the Application form
- Glue one photograph to the application form in the designated space.
Note: If children are traveling with their parents and are included inside the passport of the mother and/or the father, one photograph for each children MUST be glued to the application form of the father or the mother, depending on whom are they traveling with.

Processing Time
Applications accepted at the Hungary Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day to the Embassy of Hungary for a decision.
The visa processing time is a minimum of 20 working days, provided that a complete file is submitted. Please note: the process may take longer in certain cases.

Overview
Schengen information
Schengen States issue uniform visas for short stay visit not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period. The Schengen visa may be issued for a single entry (as a rule for the 1st time visitors of the Schengen area), for two entries, or as a multiple entry visa in case the applicant proves the need or justifies the intention to travel frequently as well as proves his/her integrity and reliability, in particular the lawful use of previous Schengen visas, etc. (as per Schengen Visa Code, Article 24).
If your travel destination is only Hungary – or in case of a Pakistan resident Denmark or Lativa -, the Hungarian Embassy in Pakistan will deal with your application. If your travel destination includes more than one Schengen Member State, your application must be dealt by the Embassy/Consulate of your main destination
The following criteria may help you to decide whether you should submit your visa application with the Hungarian Visa Application Centre.
- Hungary - or in case of a Pakistan resident also Denmark or Lativa - is the sole destination of your visit(s);
- Your visit to Schengen States includes more than one destination and Hungary - or in case a Pakistan resident also Denmark or Lativa - is the main destination of the visit(s) in terms of the length or purpose of stay;
- If you cannot determine which is your main destination, but Hungary or Denmark or Lativa is the first Schengen State you wish to enter.

The photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).

- The photo must be no more than 6-months old.

- Filled and signed application form for residence permit and Appendix No. 9.3 – find it on the website of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing of Hungary
- Valid passport with the previous (old) passports (at least 2 empty pages in the valid passport are needed!)

- Flight booking
- Accommodation proof for the whole stay period

- The purpose of investment can be justified by one of three ways:
- Certificate/voucher of an investment fund share for at least EUR 250 000 issued to the name of the applicant by a real estate investment fund manager or anydistributor of investment fund shares registered bythe National Bank of Hungary
Note: The fund must be issued for at least 5 years, and at least 40% of itsnet asset valuemust comprise of investments in residential real estate in Hungary
- A purchase agreement signed by all parties involved and attested by a licensed lawyer, concerning a residential property with a value of at least EUR 500 000, located and officially registered in the geographical territory of Hungary under its parcel identification LOT number, free and clear of all claims and encumbrances and is not a subject of any legal action or lawsuit
Note: One must file an official declaration to the Real Estate Registrar on the at least 5 years prohibition of alienation and encumbrance of the real estate. This means that you are not allowed to transfer (i.e. sell or donate) or encumber (typically by an easement, a pledge or a pre-emptive right) the property in any way for the stated period.
- A certificate from the higher education institution maintained by an official public trust stating that the establishment has received a financial donation from you of at least EUR 1 000 000 with support educational, scientific research or artistic creation activities.
- Certificate/voucher of an investment fund share for at least EUR 250 000 issued to the name of the applicant by a real estate investment fund manager or anydistributor of investment fund shares registered bythe National Bank of Hungary
- Proof of savings - Bank statement about the last 6 months, counting from the date of your interview
