Overview
Individuals travelling to Malta with the purpose of doing business or receive a professional training can apply for Schengen Visa. Please note that applicants applying for a business visa are required to provide documents according to this category.
The category of business visa is reserved for applicants whose purpose of the trip to Malta is business strictly related: signature of a contract, purchase of products or materials, reparation of existing machines, selling of products/material, business meetings and conferences, training in the field etc…
To apply for a business visa it is mandatory to present an original invitation letter from the Maltese organizer of the meeting, event or training.
Please note:
Unemployed, students, housewives, minors cannot apply for a business visa.

The photo must meet the requirements listed below. If these requirements have not been met, the applicant will have to deliver a new photo. The photo requirements are the same for children as for adults.
The Photo shall:
- Be in sharp focus, clear and with good contrasts
- Be printed on quality photo paper with high solution
- Be in colors with a white background
- Be 3.5X4.5cm
- Maximum 6 months old, resemble the applicant
- Full face, facing the camera directly, eyes looking straight at the camera
- Show the whole head and the top of the shoulders. The face shall occupy 70-80% of the picture
- Show open eyes that are clearly visible. Hair shall not cover the eyes
Regarding glasses:
Glasses are allowed as long as the eyes are clearly visible
- The glasses cannot be colored
- The rim must not cover any part of the eyes
- There cannot be reflection in the glasses

If you are traveling in more than one Schengen country, please make sure that your longest stay (counting by nights spent) is in Malta.

Visiting Family and Friends In Malta

Overview
Individuals travelling to Malta with the purpose of family or friend visit can apply for Schengen Visa. Please note that applicants applying for a Visit Family and Friends visa are required to provide documents according to this category
This category is restricted to applicants in possess of an invitation letter not older than six month from a Maltese citizen or a foreigner citizen residing in Malta or in possess of a residence in the country of destination.
Please note:
In case the sponsor lives in China but invites the applicant to travel together to Malta, the sponsor has to provide a copy of the residence permit in China, along with the proof of a residence in the country of destination or an invitation to stay with the sponsor’s close family.

Individuals travelling to Malta with the purpose of Sport, Cultural and Professional Conference visits can apply for Schengen Visa. Please note that applicants applying for a Sport, Cultural and Professional Conference visits visa are required to provide documents according to this category.
This category includes participants to conferences, seminars, cultural exchanges, sport events organized by an entity of the country of destination.
Please Note:
For this category of visa, an original invitation letter from the organizer of the event in the country of destination is mandatory, stating the purpose and duration of the applicant’s stay, the detailed program and the responsibility for the costs of the applicant.

Studying In Malta

Overview
Individuals travelling to Malta with the purpose of Study can apply for Short Term Visa. Please note that applicants applying for a study visa are required to provide documents according to this category
This category is restricted to applicants in possess of a letter of acceptance by a Maltese educational institution and the original receipt of the payment of the course fees.
Please Note:
Students accepted by the University of Malta are waived from the request of submitting the original of the acceptance and payment receipt.
