Perth Lockdown
As per the instructions of the Western Australian Government, Perth will be undergoing a hard lockdown from 6 pm Sunday January 31 to 6 pm Friday February 5. As a result, The Perth Visa Application Centre will be unable to accept any applications during this time.
From 19 October 2020, Singapore announced the unilateral border opening for visitors travelling from Australia (excluding Victoria State). Foreigners who are short-term visitors travelling from Australia may seek entry into Singapore by applying for an Air Travel Pass (ATP) and they must comply with the conditions of travel. Visitors with the ATP will undergo a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival at the airport in Singapore and they do not need to serve the Stay-Home Notice of 7 days if their test results are negative. Visitors from Victoria State are excluded for now.
The border opening is unilateral i.e. for travellers from Australia to Singapore only. Australia’s border restrictions are still in place and visitors returning to Australia must still comply with the prevailing regulations, including being subject to the flight passenger caps and serving of quarantine for 14 days. Non-Australian citizens/permanent residents should also note that they would not be able to return to Australia once they leave unless they have been granted an exemption.
Visa Requirements
In relation to this, visitors who hold a visa-required passport must separately obtain a valid visa prior to departure for Singapore. Such visitors are strongly encouraged to apply for their ATP early, up to thirty calendar days prior to the intended date of entry in Singapore so that there is sufficient time for the visa application. All applicants must ensure that they bring a copy of their ATP along with the rest of the required documents to their appointment.
If the visitor already has an existing valid visa which has been suspended due to COVID-19, ICA will lift the suspension and there is no need to obtain a new visa.
