You can inquire the status of your visa application 24/7 online or by telephone. You can also avail SMS service to receive status of your application through a text message. You can retrieve your passport at one of the visa application centres or you can have it delivered by courier.

Applicants can collect their passports from the visa application centres in Russia as follows:

In Moscow:

Monday through Friday: 11:00 – 16:00
(except on holidays)

In Saratov, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Krasnodar, Ufa, Perm, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Samara, Krasnoyarsk, Kaliningrad, Khabarovsk, Murmansk and Omsk:

Monday through Friday: 09:00 – 16:00
(except on holidays)

The following documents are required for Pass Back at the Visa Application Centre:

  1. Personal collection: receipt, contract, internal passport.
  2. Collection for close relatives: receipt, contract, internal passport, a copy of the first page of the passport, the original documents to prove this relationship with the applicant (marriage certificate or birth certificate, copies of these documents). If you have changed your name, you must provide an official document confirming the change of name + copy.
  3. Collection with power of attorney: receipt, contract, internal passport of the representative, a copy of the first page and a copy of the first page of the applicant’s internal passport, notarized power of attorney + copy.
  4. Collection by the representative for a minor child: receipt, contract, the representative’s internal passport, a copy of the first page and a copy of the birth certificate, a copy of the first page of the passport of the parent/guardian who signed the power of attorney and the notarized power of attorney given to the representative  + copy.

This new service can only be ordered by the applicant and not by a representative in order to enable the applicant to keep track of the fees and the whereabouts of his or her passport. Applicants have the option to pay by cash / online.  For payments via online, please follow the instructions as mentioned on this link,

Applicants are requested to collect their passports from the Visa Application Centre within 30 days. If passports are not collected within this period, they will be handed over to the Embassy. Passports which are handed over to courier for delivery will be called off and returned back to the Embassy if delivery fails for more than 30 days. In both cases, applicants will have to collect their passport directly from the Embassy. They Embassy will store these passports for about 6 months and then hand them over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. 

Passport withdrawal

If applicants wish to withdraw their passports for any urgent reason/for urgent trips to another country before the application has been completely processed,  they are requested to submit a withdrawal request at the visa application centre from 0900 to 1200 from Monday to Friday (except on holidays specified by the Slovenian Embassy Moscow). 

Please be advised that returning your passport while processing your application is not always possible for organizational reasons.

Applicants cannot be returned their passports during the mandatory processing period of 3 working days (express applications)/5 working days (regular applications).
