If your travel to Slovenia is for one of the following purpose, you are eligible to apply for this visa.

  • Visitors of military and civil burial grounds
  • Property owners in the Schengen area and their close relatives
  • Tourists and other private visitors

VFS SERVICE CHARGE

Apart from the visa fee, a VFS service charge of the equivalent of 25,5 EUR in Russian Roubles inclusive of VAT per application will be levied for applicants applying at the visa application centre.

INFORMATION ON PAYMENTS

  • Visa fee and VFS service charge can be paid at the visa application centre in cash or by credit/debit card (MasterCard or Visa)..
  • The VFS service charge is non-refundable.
  • The VFS service charge is waived for the following applicants: children under 6 years of age and persons with a disability and their accompanying persons
  • You can pay in Russian Roubles only.
  • The visa application centre in Moscow is equipped with an ATM.
  • The applicable visa fee in Russian Roubles is as per the current exchange rate form the the European Central Bank.
  • Visa fees are non-refundable, except in cases they have been levied in error. In this case, the visa fee is refunded in cash in one of the visa application centres or is transferred to the credit/debit card.

Documents Required

This list will help you prepare the necessary documents to apply for a short-term visa. Supporting documents (originals and copies) should be provided in Russian or English.

Please note that each applicant should submit their own set of documents according to their purpose of travel.

Please note that the Embassy may also request additional documents or information if this is necessary for the consideration of the application.

Application form: The application must be duly and legibly completed, signed, and dated by the applicant. For applicants under 18 years of age, the application form should be signed by the applicant’s parent/legal guardian. The visa application form in Russian and Slovenian is available here. Original travel document: The travel document must be valid for at least 3 months after the intended departure from the Schengen Area. Furthermore, the travel document must have been issued within the previous 10 years and contain at least 2 blank pages.

The travel document must be recognised by the Republic of Slovenia. For the table of recognized travel documents, please consult the website of the European Commission.

You must present a travel document allowing you to return to the country:

  • of which you are a citizen;
  • that issued the travel document (this applies, e.g., to stateless persons);
  • in which you are a holder of a residence permit.

Recent passport-size photograph: The photograph should be compliant with ICAO standards; a light background and neutral expression is required, head covers are not acceptable; no staples. The photograph must be 35 x 45 mm and correspond to the person’s current appearance. The photograph must be taken with a frontal view of the face and the size of the head from crown to chin must be at least 13 mm. The person photographed must be wearing plain clothes, without dark glasses (except for blind people) and without a head cover, unless the use of a head cover is justified for religious or medical reasons; in such case, the head cover must not obscure the face in a manner preventing identification. The photograph required for the issuance of a visa must have a smooth surface and colour. The person portrayed must have a neutral expression, his or her mouth must be closed, and the eyes must be open.

Travel medical insurance policy: Applicants for a short-stay visa (C Type) must have travel medical insurance to cover any expenses that might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death during their stay(s) in the territory of the Schengen countries. The insurance must be valid throughout the territory of the Schengen countries and cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage is EUR 30,000.

Applicants for a uniform visa for multiple entries must have valid travel medical insurance covering the period of their first intended visit. In addition, such applicants must sign the statement in the application form declaring that they are aware of the need to have travel medical insurance for subsequent stays.

Holders of diplomatic passports and family members of EU citizens are exempt from the requirement to have travel medical insurance.

Copy of the internal passport (issued at the age of 14): pages concerning the applicant's biodata, foreign passport(s) issued to him/her, his/her marital status and registration in Russia.

Minors:

  • Copy of the birth certificate.
  • Consent of the parental authority or legal guardian if the minor travels alone or only with one parent. Exception is made in cases where the single parent with whom the minor is to travel holds the parental authority alone (i.e. in cases where the other parent has deceased or been deprived of custody, e.g. a death certificate of the other parent or a court degree vesting custody exclusively in the parent who is signing the application should be provided).
  • Copy of the valid Schengen visa of the parent(s) travelling with the minor for whom a visa is not applied at the same time with the parent(s).

Non-Russian nationals: proof of legal residence in the Russian Federation in line with federal legislation (e.g. residence permit, long-term visa or FMS registration), valid for at least three months after the planned return from the territory of the Member States or a document proving that the applicant has applied for a renewal of proof of legal residence.

If not resident, proof of legal presence in the Russian Federation and justification for submitting visa application in the Russian Federation instead of the country of residence.

DOCUMENTS PROVING THE PRUPOSE OF THE TRIP

  • Visitors of military and civil burial grounds:

    • OFFICIAL DOCUMENT confirming the existence and preservation of the burial ground and relationship between the applicant and the buried.
    • PROOF OF EMPLOYMENT (with salary information); if not available, other proof of financial means and will to return (e.g. bank/credit card statement(s) covering at least three preceding months, proof of real estate property in Russia or proof of sponsorship: sponsorship letter + proof of family tie + copy of the first page of the sponsor's internal passport + any proof of financial means of the sponsor in the original).

*** Print-outs of online bank statements need to be stamped and signed by the bank.

  • Owners of property in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia and their close relatives:

    • RELEVANT NATIONAL DOCUMENT (e.g. recent extract from the real estate register, copy of the purchase contract/deed of sale, etc.) proving that the applicant possesses the property in question.
    • In cases of close relatives, PROOF OF THE FAMILY TIE.
    • PROOF OF EMPLOYEMENT (with salary information); if not available, other proof of financial means and will to return (e.g. bank/credit card statement(s) covering at least three preceding months, proof of real estate property in Russia or proof of sponsorship: sponsorship letter + proof of family tie + copy of the first page of the sponsor's internal passport + any proof of financial means of the sponsor in the original).

  • Tourists and other private visitors:

    • PROOF OF ACCOMMODATION (e.g. a letter of guarantee from the host if staying with one; document from the establishment providing accommodation or any other appropriate document indicating the accommodation envisaged in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Slovenia concerned); if not available, adequate written description of the planned journey.
    • *** IN CASE OF VISIT TO FRIENDS: a letter of guarantee certified by a Slovenian administrative unit. A copy of the certified letter of guarantee with the seal of the administrative authority and the registration number clearly visible is sufficient.

    • PROOF OF THE ITINERARY (e.g. a confirmation of the booking of an organised trip or any other appropriate document indicating the envisaged travel plans such as a reserved return ticket); if not available, adequate written description of the planned journey.
    • *** If the proof of accommodation/reserved tickets are not deemed sufficient, the applicant may be requested for a proof of payment thereof.

    • PROOF OF EMPLOYEMENT (with salary information); if not available, other proof of financial means and will to return (e.g. bank/credit card statement(s) covering at least three preceding months, proof of real estate property in Russia or proof of sponsorship: sponsorship letter + proof of family tie + copy of the first page of the sponsor's internal passport + any proof of financial means of the sponsor in the original).

Photo Specifications

Please read the specifications for photographs carefully before submitting your visa application. 

The photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 32mm (1 ΒΌ inches) and 36mm (1 3/8 inches). Please look directly into the camera with a neutral expression and without smiling. The maximal height is 45 mm. 

The facial image must be sharp, clear, and with sufficient contrast. Please avoid photos with reflections or shadows on the face or with red eyes. The background should be neutral and light, providing sufficient contrast to the face and hair (we recommend a neutral grey). Reflection from glasses, sunglasses or tinted glasses is not permitted. The eyes cannot be hidden by the glass frames.

The photo needs to be printed on high-quality paper with at least 300 dpi resolution; the colours must present a natural appearance and skin tone. The photo must not have kinks, scratches or stains on it. The photo must not have been produced with the help of a graphics editing program.

Two recent passport size photos for each person included in the application. Please note that photos should be not older than 6 months.

Due to the stringent requirements around the Photo required for your application, we recommend you utilize the photo services available inside the Visa Application Center. This will provide you assurance that your application is submitted with the photograph that meets the specifications and will be acceptable to the Embassy. You will have ready photographs in 45 seconds.

Kindly note that according to the requirements of the Slovenian Embassy the full address including postal code should be mentioned in the visa application form.

The completed application form has to be submitted along with the other required documents.

Applicants can have their Schengen application forms filled in at one of the visa applications centres by paying 350 Roubles per application form. The form filling service is voluntary and does not influence the decision on the application.
