You can inquire the status of your visa application 24/7 online or by telephone. As soon as your application has been processed, you receive a text message. You can retrieve your passport at one of the visa application centres or you can have it delivered by courier.

The price list contains further details on the delivery zones and the postage. The postage varies according to the place of residence. This new service can only be ordered by the applicant and not by a representative in order to enable the applicant to keep track of the fees and the whereabouts of his or her passport. Applicants can collect their passports from the visa application centres in Russia as follows:
Monday through Friday: 1100-1600

In Saratov, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Krasnodar, Ufa, Perm, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Samara, Krasnoyarsk, Kaliningrad, Khabarovsk, Murmansk and Omsk:

All Third party persons who visit the Visa Application Centre to collect passports will require to submit a notarized power of attorney from the applicants. This is effective for return of passports for applications submitted from the 11 January 2016. The tourist agencies and the BONA FIDES companies are exempt from the same.
Applicants are requested to collect their passports from the Visa Application Centre within 30 days. If passports are not collected within this period, they will be handed over to the Embassy. Passports which are handed over to courier for delivery will be called off and returned back to the Embassy if delivery fails for more than 30 days. In both cases, applicants will have to collect their passport directly from the Embassy.
