MESSAGE FROM THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF FRANCE : USEFUL PRECISIONS TO READ IMPERATIVELY BEFORE SELECTING YOUR CATEGORY OF VISA

• Regardless of the type of visa requested, you can choose the category Renewal of the visa of circulation / Person concerned during the last 5 years (any Schengen country) if you hold a circulation visa or if you have had a short-term or long-stay visa from France or another Schengen country in the last 5 years. for example : If you had a visa from France or Spain 2 years ago and you apply for a tourist visa, you can choose the category Renewal of the circulation visa / person concerned during the last 5 years (any Schengen country) or the category Short stay tourist or family
• If you have not had a visa in the last 5 years and you are applying for a tourist visa, you can only choose the category Tourist or family stay
• If you are applying for a short-stay visa for a professional or business purpose, select the category Short stay professional / Long stay Professional / Passport-talent (or alternatively the category Renewal of circulation visa / Person concerned in the last 5 years (any Schengen country) if you meet the conditions). This category also includes short-stay visas studies, trainees, scientists, sailors, sportsmen and artists.
• In long stay, certain types of visas are subject to a specific category : return visas, long professional stays. For all other long stay requests, including longer student stays, you must select the category Other Long Stay (including long student stay)

WARNING : on instructions from the Consulate General of France and in order to fight against diversions, VFS will refuse the deposit to any applicant who has selected a category that does not correspond to the subject of their request. The VFS service fee will not be refunded.
