Short Stay
Short-Stay visa (C type) entitles its holder to travel throughout the 26 Schengen States for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Visas for visits exceeding that period remain subject to national procedures.Click here to know more about Schengen Visa. Guarantees for return (assessment of migration risk): The applicant is requested to provide as much information as possible to document his/her family background, professional and socio-economic status, ownership of land or real estate (for instance: proof of family bonds with his/her country of origin, proof of regular income and stable source of revenues from the applicant and/or his/her partner, proof of property, etc.)
This information is essential to correctly judge the intention of the applicant to leave the Schengen area before the expiry of his/her visa.
In case you have already submitted your fingerprints for a previous Schengen visa application in the last 59 months, you are not required to submit them again.
However, if you are uncertain whether your fingerprints have been captured for a Schengen visa within the last 59 months, you are advised to appear in person.
Kindly please note that, if it would appear that the fingerprints prove not to be present in the VIS system, you will be asked to reappear in person for new biometric data collection. To avoid this possible complication, you have the right to ask for your fingerprints to be taken again.
Business / Conference / Fair

Overview
If the purpose of traveling is Business meetings, Internal trainings, Conference or Attending any trade fair. You need to apply for a Business / Conference / Fair short term Schengen visa. This service is available for residents in China who wish to apply for a Belgian Visa.
As of 13 July 2020, all visa applications for Belgium introduced in China, will be processed by the Embassy of Belgium in Beijing.
Exceptions will be the visa applications of Chinese citizens travelling with official and public affairs passports, family members of EU citizens, and “Fast Track” business applications. These categories will still be forwarded to the Consulate-General in Shanghai and Guangzhou for processing based on the address stated on the Hukou or Temporary resident card.
- The jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Belgium in Guangzhou includes the following provinces: Guangdong, Yunnan, Autonomous Region of Guangxi, Fujian, and Hainan,

In case the file has to be submitted for decision to the Immigration Office in Brussels, the processing time may take more than 15 days.
Passports are kept at the Embassy for the duration of the processing of the visa application. Should you have an urgent need for your passport, please contact the Visa Application Centre where your application has been submitted or the Belgian Embassy/Consulate General via email to request a temporary withdrawal of your passport.

Administrative fee for LONG STAY visas for Belgium
Any person who is not exempt and who wishes to stay in Belgium for more than 90 days must pay a fee. The fee covers the costs of processing the residence application. One fee must be paid per application and per person. In other words, each applicant who is not exempt must pay a fee for each application he/she submits. Any person who is not exempt and who wishes to stay in Belgium for more than 90 days must pay a fee. The fee covers the costs of processing the residence application. One fee must be paid per application and per person. In other words, each applicant who is not exempt must pay a fee for each application he/she submits. Processing Time
Applications received at the Belgian Embassy/Consulate General will be processed within 2 and 15 working days, provided that a complete file is submitted. We recommend that you submit your applications 15 days prior to the intended departure date.
Applications can be submitted up to 180 days in advance.
In case the file has to be submitted for decision to the Immigration Office in Brussels, the processing time may take more than 15 days.
Passports are kept at the Embassy for the duration of the processing of the visa application. Overview
If the purpose of traveling is to reside freely within the territory of Member States, you need to apply for Schengen visa accordingly. This service is available for residents in China who wish to apply for a Belgian Visa.
As of 13 July 2020, all visa applications for Belgium introduced in China, will be processed by the Embassy of Belgium in Beijing.
Exceptions will be the visa applications of Chinese citizens travelling with official and public affairs passports, family members of EU citizens, and “Fast Track” business applications. These categories will still be forwarded to the Consulate-General in Shanghai and Guangzhou for processing based on the address stated on the Hukou or Temporary resident card.
- The jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Belgium in Guangzhou includes the following provinces: Guangdong, Yunnan, Autonomous Region of Guangxi, Fujian, and Hainan,
- The jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Belgium in Shanghai includes the following provinces: Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang and Shanghai.
- All other Chinese provinces and Autonomous Regions belong to the jurisdiction of the Embassy of Belgium in Beijing.
Applicants may submit applications in one of the 15 Visa Application Centres of Belgium around China.
