Short Term Visa
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan don’t need be a residence of Kazakhstan for submitting documents for visa (they do not have an Embassy).
Important notes and warnings:
The embassy also reserves the right to request additional supporting documents during the visa application process.
Applying for a visa, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that a visa will be issued.
The issued visa is not a guarantee that the foreign citizen will be allowed to enter the Republic of Bulgaria. At each border crossing, the police may require a foreign citizen to present a photocopy of a letter of guarantee in case of both private and business visits, therefore it is recommended to have a letter of guarantee with you, as well as proof of having sufficient funds in hand luggage.
The decision to refuse a visa with an indication of the reasons for such a decision is delivered to the applicant in the form of a visa refusal / cancellation / revocation.
The CLIENT can file a complaint against the decision to refuse to issue a visa at any time convenient for him.
The visa application fee is not refundable after the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
The embassy / consular section may require him / her to submit additional documents and / or a certified translation, as well as international certification (apostille) of documents.
Any falsification of documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution. A visa is a permit to transit through the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria or to enter the Republic of Bulgaria and stay for up to three months in each six-month period, counting from the date of the first entry.
Issued for one, two or more entries for transit, tourist, business, private or other purposes.
The validity period depends on the circumstances and cannot exceed five years.
Foreigners must apply for a visa before entering the Republic of Bulgaria, at the Visa Application Center or at the competent diplomatic mission / consular post.
An application for a visa for an incapacitated foreign minor is submitted by their legal representative.
Visa applications must be submitted no earlier than six months before the date of the proposed trip and no later than 15 calendar days before the start of the trip.
Business

Overview
Citizens of Kazakhstan who plan to visit Bulgaria are required to have a visa.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan don’t need be a residence of Kazakhstan for submitting documents for visa (they do not have an Embassy).
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through or stay in the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Bulgaria and may not exceed five years.
Customers cannot work in Bulgaria by short term visa.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Bulgaria. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the Customer in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen can file a complaint against a decision to refuse to issue a visa at any time suitable for him.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution

Documents Required
The Customers are requested to read the basic requirements carefully and conform to the same while submitting the application.
- A filled in visa application (all columns need to be filled in). The application shall be filled in completely and legibly in block letters. Names shall mandatorily be spelled in Latin letters (as spelled in the international passport). The rest of the information shall be completed in Russian and English. The application shall be signed by the Customer in person;
- A valid international travel document with 6 months of validity remaining after the end of the proposed trip.
- A photocopy of the first page of his international passport and a photocopy of the latest Bulgarian and Schengen visas.
- A 3.5 by 4.5 cm color photograph with a light background. Face one and the face in it shall be clear and large, occupying 70 to 80% of the photograph. No red, eye effect shall be visible. Photographs in which the person wears darkened glasses, art (unprofessional) photographs, or images cropped from amateur photographs WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of Schengen area or WorlWide.
- Proof of residence for nationals other than Kazakhstan: a photocopy of the stay permit; Citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan don’t need be a residence of Kazakhstan for submitting documents for visa (they do not have an Embassy).
Citizens of Russian Federation must obtain relevant temporaty residence permit or residence permit card than must be valid 3 months upon returning to Kazakhstan. - Employee letter on official letterhead with stamp, address, phone number, position and salary of person travelling. Sponsoring company clearly mentioning the duration and purpose of the trip;
- Invitation letter in the standard format from Bulgarian legal entity (Pokana Deklaratsiya) foreign representative office in the standard format (copy) stamped by the Bulgarian Immigration authorities.
- Recommendation letter given by Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, which proves that they have joint business activity or notarized copy of the contract between the 2 companies, proving long term business partnership and the intentions connected with the forthcoming trips, if applying for multiple entry visa.
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: reservation of return travel ticket for airplane and by bus, If the person is travelling to a third country, then proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).

Proof of family ties (copies of marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.)
For minor children traveling without parents or guardians:
- A copy of the child's birth certificate;
- The original and copy of a notarized power of attorney from both parents / guardians or one of the parents / guardians that they give their consent to the child to go abroad. In case they do not accompany a minor child. If one of the parents is not responsible for the child, a certificate (copy) of the deprivation of parental rights from the court must be provided. Also, if one of the parents is registered in the birth certificate in the words of the father / mother, it is necessary to provide the necessary documents confirming this.

Photo Specifications
General
- The photograph for each visa Customer must be an un-mounted, full face photo, color photo as described below
- The photograph must have been taken within the last 6 months.
- Two photographs must be submitted.
Photo Size
The photo for each visa Customer submitted must measure:
- 35 mm x 45 mm with the head centered in the frame.
- The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure at least 30 mm
Photo Appearance
- The photograph must be a full-face front view in which the visa Customer is facing the camera directly.
- The face should cover about 70-80 percent of the photo area.
- The photograph MUST be in color and have only a white or light background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted
- In general, the Customer's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears be exposed
- Sunglasses or other wear, which detracts from the face, are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (an eye patch, for example).
- A photograph depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.
Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete.

Processing Time
The average visa processing time is 15 calendar days after the application is accepted at the embassy (processing may be faster, depending on the documents). In some cases, if additional consideration is necessary, this period can be extended to a maximum of 45-60 calendar days.

- A 3.5 by 4.5 cm color photograph with a light background. Face one and the face in it shall be clear and large, occupying 70 to 80% of the photograph. No red, eye effect shall be visible. Photographs in which the person wears darkened glasses, art (unprofessional) photographs, or images cropped from amateur photographs WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria during the entire stay in Bulgaria.
- Proof of residence for nationals other than Kazakhstan: a photocopy of the stay permit; Citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan don’t need be a residence of Kazakhstan for submitting documents for visa (they do not have a Consulate).
- Employee letter on official letterhead with stamp, address, phone number, position and salary of person travelling. Sponsoring company clearly mentioning the duration and purpose of the trip;
- Invitation letter with signature and stamp Travel order from the relevant Employer authorizing the trip.
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: reservation of return travel ticket for airplane, but, If the person is travelling to a third country, then proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).
- Proof of family ties (copies of marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.)

Overview
Citizens of Kazakhstan who plan to visit Bulgaria are required to have a visa.
The documents below need to be submitted in addition to the Mandatory documents for all visa categories.
Invitation letter as per the approved Format from a Bulgarian individual or foreign nationals with Bulgarian legal residency (original and copy); stamped by the Bulgarian Immigration authorities
Proof of relationship (for close relatives, if applying for a multiple visa ); i.e. Birth certificate or marriage certificates ONLY.

Overview
Citizens of Kazakhstan who plan to visit Bulgaria are required to have a visa.
The documents below need to be submitted in addition to the Mandatory documents for all visa categories.

Employment letter on official letterhead with stamp, address, phone number, position and salary;
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan don’t need be a residence of Kazakhstan for submitting documents for visa (they do not have an Embassy).
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through or stay in the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Bulgaria and may not exceed five years.
Customer cannot work in Bulgaria on the basis of a short-term visa.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Bulgaria. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the Customer in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen can file a complaint against a decision to refuse to issue a visa at any time suitable for him.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution

Documents Required
The Customers are requested to read the basic requirements carefully and conform to the same while submitting the application.
- A filled in visa application (all columns need to be filled in). The application shall be filled in completely and legibly in block letters. Names shall mandatorily be spelled in Latin letters (as spelled in the international passport). The rest of the information shall be completed in Russian and English. The application shall be signed by the Customer in person; In the form of minors children, BOTH parents must be subscribe their sign. If there is a signature from only the one parent, they must provide a notarized power of attorney for the right to sign and submit.
- A valid international travel document with 6 months of validity remaining after the end of the proposed trip..
- A photocopy of the first page of international passport and a photocopy of the latest Bulgarian and Schengen visas if any.
- A 3.5 by 4.5 cm color photograph with a light background. Face one and the face in it shall be clear and large, occupying 70 to 80% of the photograph. No red, eye effect shall be visible. Photographs in which the person wears darkened glasses, art (unprofessional) photographs, or images cropped from amateur photographs WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria during the entire stay in Bulgaria.

- Employee letter on official letterhead with stamp, address, phone number, position and salary of person travelling. Sponsoring company clearly mentioning the duration and purpose of the trip;
- Proof of the availability of necessary financial resources: bank statement (with the calculation of 60 euros for one day), bank statement (for the last 3 months).
- Voucher or hotel booking. Each tourist, period of stay, hotel details (phone number, address, and contact person) has to be mentioned in confirmation.
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: reservation of return travel ticket for airplane, but, If the person is travelling to a third country, then proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).

Proof of family ties (copies of marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.)
These documents are required for children in addition to the all the above stated document (Specific & Mandatory)
For underage children travelling without their parents or guardians:
- a copy of the child’s birth certificate;

an original and a photocopy of a notarized power of attorney by both parents/guardians or by one parent/guardian stating that they give their permission for the child to travel abroad in case they do not accompany the underage child.
If one of the parents is not responsible for the child, a certificate (copy) of the deprivation of parental rights from the court must be provided. Also, if one of the parents is registered in the birth certificate in the words of the father / mother, it is necessary to provide the necessary documents confirming this.

- The photograph must have been taken within the last 6 months.
- Two photographs must be submitted.
Photo Size
The photo for each visa Customer submitted must measure:
- 35 mm x 45 mm with the head centered in the frame.
- The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure at least 30 mm
Photo Appearance
- The photograph must be a full-face front view in which the visa Customer is facing the camera directly.
- The face should cover about 70-80 percent of the photo area.
- The photograph MUST be in color and have only a white or light background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted
- In general, the Customer's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears be exposed

TRANSIT
- A foreign passport issued within the last 10 years, with a validity period of at least three months after the end of the intended trip (when applying for a multiple-entry visa - after the end of the last intended trip), containing at least two blank pages;
- A photocopy of the first page of the international passport (spread with photo and personal data), as well as a photocopy of all used pages (with visas and stamps);
- Application for a Bulgarian visa (1 piece), filled out legibly and signed by the traveler in his own hand (for children/minors, see general information);
- A current color photograph of the applicant (1 piece), passport format 3.5x4.5 cm, on a light background, taken no later than 6 months before submission, with a clear full-face image of the face without glasses with tinted lenses and without a headdress;
- A health insurance policy valid on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria for the entire duration of the trip (with a multiple-entry visa - only for the duration of the first trip), which must cover all costs of emergency medical care, emergency hospitalization, repatriation for medical reasons and in case of death. Insurance must be taken out for a minimum of 6 months, and the sum insured must be at least 30,000 euros (original and photocopy);
- Airplane tickets (photocopy) or documents for the car (copy of registration certificate, copy of driver’s license, copy of green card, route in free form). Travel route by car. If necessary (if the applicant is not the owner) - a notarized power of attorney to drive the car;
- Evidence of sufficient funds for the trip - documents (photocopy of a bank certificate) confirming the availability of sufficient funds to cover daily expenses, which must be at least 50 euros for each day for a visa application or an equivalent amount in another freely convertible currency currency, but not less than 500 euros or an equivalent amount in another freely convertible currency.
- Certificate from the place of employment on company letterhead with the seal of the organization, indicating the address, work telephone number, position and salary of the applicant, and the signature of the responsible person. Pensioners provide a copy of their pension certificate. For individual entrepreneurs: copies of the individual entrepreneur registration certificate and taxpayer registration number.
- Photocopy of the visa of the destination (country) and:
- If the applicant is allowed a visa-free regime, it is necessary to provide documents confirming the purpose of the trip (invitation, hotel reservation, real estate documents, etc.);
- For drivers - you must provide a letter from the Association of International Road Carriers (ASMAP) and a letter of recommendation from the employer;
Notes: If you have a valid Bulgarian double or multiple entry visa, you can transit through Romania by car or train. The permitted period of stay in Romania depends on the validity and number of days of the Bulgarian visa.
You can transit through the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria with a valid double or multiple Schengen visa and visas of Cyprus, Croatia and Romania. The permitted period of stay on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria depends on the validity period and number of days of these visas.
