Short Term Visa
A short term visa (category C) is a visa issued for a short term visit to Hungary (or another Shengen state) or for transit through the territory of Hungary (or another Shengen state). Depending on the travel purpose, a Short-term Shengen visa may be issued for a single, double or a multiple entry. Schengen Visa allows you to stay on the territory of Hungary during the limited period of time, as well as cross the internal borders of other Schengen countries.
The longest stay in the Republic of Hungary is 90 days within a half-year after the first crossing of the border of Hungary. The validity period of a short term visa is 5 years maximum.
Unified Schengen visas are valid on the territory of the following states: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland.
According to the conditions of the Schengen Agreement the applicant should apply for the Schengen visa to the Consulate of the country which is the main purpose of the trip.
If during one trip the applicant plans to visit several Schengen countries, he/she should apply for the Schengen visa to the Consulate of the country where the applicant expects to spend more days.
If the quantity of days during one trip in all countries is the same, the applicant should submit the visa documents to the Consulate of the country of first entry.
The rules for issuing Schengen visas are regulated by the EU Visa Code.
You can submit documents for schengen visa type C no earlier than 6 months before the start of your trip.
Bulgaria Visa Application Centers accept visa applications for short term visas for the following visa types:
- Business / Work
- Tourism / Other private visits
- Transit
- Close relatives'/Family members' visits
- Cultural, Sports, Artist, Scientific activities or Studies

Overview
- The Bulgaria Visa Application Centers submit applications only for short-term Schengen visas of category "C" (Visa "C" can be single-entry, double or multiple-entry, the period of stay in Bulgaria/ Schengen on a visa "C", regardless of the validity of the visa, cannot exceed 90 days within every 180 days). All of the above documents are mandatory for submission. An incomplete set of documents is not accepted! Submission of documents can be carried out as follows:
- When applying for a visa, it is necessary to submit fingerprints. Only children under the age of 12 are exempt from fingerprinting. All other categories of citizens, regardless of whether they have previously been fingerprinted or not, must go through the fingerprint procedure at each submission of documents.
- Foreign citizens can apply for a Bulgarian visa if they legally reside in the territory of the Russian Federation temporarily or permanently (if they have a residence permit or registration in the territory of the Russian Federation, valid for the entire period of the requested visa). In addition, foreign citizens will need to confirm their legal presence in the territory of the Russian Federation with additional documents. Depending on the situation, you can provide marriage certificate, company registration documents, work permit, patent, etc. It is also necessary to provide copies of previous Bulgarian and Schengen visas for the last 3 years.

Visa Fees
Visa Fees for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
- Visa Fee for citizens of Russian Federation and for citizens of countries, which do not have Visa Facilitation Agreement with EU is 90 Euro.
- Visa Fee for citizens of countries, which have Visa Facilitation Agreement with EU is 35 Euro.
VFS service fee for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
- In addition to the visa fee, visa centers charge a service fee of 22.8 euros, including VAT, for each application (payment is made in rubles at the exchange rate of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Russia).
Visa Fee is free for the following categories of applicants:
- Children up to 12 years

Documents Required
Travel insurance is mandatory for all Schengen countries. If you have not purchased, please click here.
Fingerprints must be submitted when applying for a visa. Only children under the age of 12 are exempt from taking fingerprints. All other categories of citizens, regardless of whether they have previously been fingerprinted or not, must necessarily undergo the procedure of fingerprinting each time they submit documents.
Important: Regardless of your purpose of travel, the set of documents must include:
- Booking tickets. Tickets are required in both directions, In case of traveling by car with foreign plates, you need: an itinerary, a driver's license, a certificate of registration of the vehicle.
- A certificate of employment indicating the position, salary, period of work and income for the last six months. The certificate must be no older than 1 month from the date of issue.
- Financial document - a bank statement with a sufficient balance for the trip, with the movement of funds for 3 months. (not older than 1 month from the date of issue).
- If the candidate for the visa is a "pensioner", it is necessary additionally to provide a certificate from the pension fund, which will indicate the work activity for the last 10 years. The document must be signed with an electronic signature.
- If the applicant for the visa is "unemployed", it is necessary additionally to provide proof of the existence of property and a copy of the work record for the last three years.
For children under 18 - parent's consent for travelling is mandatory document in all cases, even if the child is travelling with parents.

Written requests must contain the following information:
- for the invited person - first name, last name, date of birth, gender, nationality, identity document number, duration and purpose of the trip, number of entries, names of minor children following with the invited person;
- for the inviting person - first name, last name and address;
- for the inviting legal entity, company or organization - the full name of this legal entity and its address, as well as:
- if the appeal comes from an organization, the name and position of the person who signed the appeal;
- if the inviting person is a legal entity or an enterprise, institution or their branch established on the territory of the Russian Federation, an individual taxpayer number;
- if the inviting person is a legal entity or a company, enterprise, institution or their branch established on the territory of Bulgaria, the registration number established in accordance with the legislation of Bulgaria.
Russian Law on Data Protection
According to the Federal law of the Russian Federation №152-ФЗ “On personal data” all applicants should sign “The agreement on processing personal data”. Please note that an applicant who submits his/her documents through an authorized representative should prepare this document in advance or provide a power of attorney giving representative a right to sign it on his/her behalf.

If valid visa expires before the planned trip revocation form should be necessarily provided since the Consulate does not accept passports with valid visas for processing.

Photo Specifications
General information
- Photo should be colored, full-faced and without fringing.
- Photo should have been taken within the last six months.
- Each applicant should submit 1 photo along with visa application.
Photo size
- 35 x 45 mm with face centered in the frame
- Head (from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin) should be about 30 mm.
Photo specifications
- Photo should be taken fullface with applicant facing camera directly.
- Face should cover about 70-80% of the photo.
- Photo should be colored and have white or light background. Photos with dark or patterned background will not be accepted.
- Face should be clearly seen. It is preferable to have ears open.
- Sunglasses or other accessories are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (e.g. eye patch).
- Photo depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or a veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.
Please note:
Kindly follow the instructions above. If photos provided do not correspond with the Consulate requirements your application pack will be considered incomplete. In case you do not have an opportunity to make a photo in advance you can do it in visa application center.

Processing Time
Dear customers, processing time may vary. The approximate terms of processing when submitting documents in Moscow are indicated below. If documents are submitted at the regional centers of the Moscow consular district, it is necessary to take into account the time for sending documents, which is at least five working days.
Processing time of visa applications:
- The minimum period for processing of visa applications is 15 calendar days from the date of receipt of documents to the Consular Department of the Embassy.
- Documents are not accepted for urgent processing. (Urgent processing is provided only for citizens of the Republic of Belarus and citizens of Ukraine).
Attention!
The day of submission of documents at the visa application center is not taken into account.
Calendar days mean working days and weekends. If holidays or non–working days fall within the processing period, it will be extended.
The Consular Department of the Embassy and visa centers are closed on weekends. If the transfer date or the date of receiving documents from the Consular Department of the Embassy falls on the weekend, then the documents will be transferred /received on the next working day after the weekend.
The period of processing of visa applications may be extended:
As per the Article 23 of REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL establishing a Community code on Visas (Visa Code) the period of consideration of your visa application by respective Consular authority may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days.

- Photo should be colored, full-faced and without fringing.
- Photo should have been taken within the last six months.
- Each applicant should submit 1 photo along with visa application.
Photo size
- 35 x 45 mm with face centered in the frame
- Head (from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin) should be about 30 mm.
Photo specifications
- Photo should be taken fullface with applicant facing camera directly.
- Face should cover about 70-80% of the photo.
- Photo should be colored and have white or light background. Photos with dark or patterned background will not be accepted.
- Face should be clearly seen. It is preferable to have ears open.
- Sunglasses or other accessories are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons (e.g. eye patch).
- Photo depicting a person wearing a traditional facemask or a veil that does not permit adequate identification is not acceptable.
Please note:
Kindly follow the instructions above. If photos provided do not correspond with the Consulate requirements your application pack will be considered incomplete. In case you do not have an opportunity to make a photo in advance you can do it in visa application center.

Processing Time
Dear customers, processing time may vary. The approximate terms of processing when submitting documents in Moscow are indicated below. If documents are submitted at the regional centers of the Moscow consular district, it is necessary to take into account the time for sending documents, which is at least five working days.
Processing time of visa applications:
- The minimum period for processing of visa applications is 15 calendar days from the date of receipt of documents to the Consular Department of the Embassy.
- Documents are not accepted for urgent processing. (Urgent processing is provided only for citizens of the Republic of Belarus and citizens of Ukraine).
Attention!
The day of submission of documents at the visa application center is not taken into account.
Calendar days mean working days and weekends. If holidays or non–working days fall within the processing period, it will be extended.
The Consular Department of the Embassy and visa centers are closed on weekends. If the transfer date or the date of receiving documents from the Consular Department of the Embassy falls on the weekend, then the documents will be transferred /received on the next working day after the weekend.

As per the Article 23 of REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL establishing a Community code on Visas (Visa Code) the period of consideration of your visa application by respective Consular authority may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days.

Overview
- The Bulgaria Visa Application Centers submit applications only for short-term Schengen visas of category "C" (Visa "C" can be single-entry, double or multiple-entry, the period of stay in Bulgaria/ Schengen on a visa "C", regardless of the validity of the visa, cannot exceed 90 days within every 180 days). All of the above documents are mandatory for submission. An incomplete set of documents is not accepted! Submission of documents can be carried out as follows:
- When applying for a visa, it is necessary to submit fingerprints. Only children under the age of 12 are exempt from fingerprinting. All other categories of citizens, regardless of whether they have previously been fingerprinted or not, must go through the fingerprint procedure at each submission of documents.
- Foreign citizens can apply for a Bulgarian visa if they legally reside in the territory of the Russian Federation temporarily or permanently (if they have a residence permit or registration in the territory of the Russian Federation, valid for the entire period of the requested visa). In addition, foreign citizens will need to confirm their legal presence in the territory of the Russian Federation with additional documents. Depending on the situation, you can provide marriage certificate, company registration documents, work permit, patent, etc. It is also necessary to provide copies of previous Bulgarian and Schengen visas for the last 3 years.

Visa Fees
Visa Fees for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
- Visa Fee for citizens of Russian Federation and for citizens of countries, which do not have Visa Facilitation Agreement with EU is 90 Euro.
- Visa Fee for citizens of countries, which have Visa Facilitation Agreement with EU is 35 Euro.
VFS service fee for short term Schengen Visa (Visa C):
- In addition to the visa fee, visa centers charge a service fee of 22.8 euros, including VAT, for each application (payment is made in rubles at the exchange rate of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Russia).
Visa Fee is free for the following categories of applicants:

Documents Required
Travel insurance is mandatory for all Schengen countries. If you have not purchased, please click here.
Fingerprints must be submitted when applying for a visa. Only children under the age of 12 are exempt from taking fingerprints. All other categories of citizens, regardless of whether they have previously been fingerprinted or not, must necessarily undergo the procedure of fingerprinting each time they submit documents.
Important: Regardless of your purpose of travel, the set of documents must include:
- Booking tickets. Tickets are required in both directions, In case of traveling by car with foreign plates, you need: an itinerary, a driver's license, a certificate of registration of the vehicle.
- A certificate of employment indicating the position, salary, period of work and income for the last six months. The certificate must be no older than 1 month from the date of issue.
- Financial document - a bank statement with a sufficient balance for the trip, with the movement of funds for 3 months. (not older than 1 month from the date of issue).
