Short Term Visa
If you wish to visit Bulgaria for a short period of time, you must obtain a visa prior to entry if you come from a country with a visa requirement for entering Bulgaria. Ukrainian nationals require a visa to Bulgaria.
A visa is only intended to allow a foreign national to visit Bulgaria for a limited period of time (90 days). If you wish to reside in Bulgaria for an extended period of time (more than three months), you need to apply for a long term visa at The Embassy / Consulate General of Bulgaria.
The possession of a visa does not confer an automatic right of entry to Bulgaria. The visa holder is requested to present proof that they fulfil the entry conditions at the border (valid travel document, valid visa, and valid purpose of travel with adequate means of travel).

- Property owner: This type of visa caters to people who own a property in Bulgaria. Please click.
- Private visit: This type of visa caters to people who tend to visit friends or not close relatives in Bulgaria. Please click.
- Business visa: This type of visa caters to people who tend to visit Bulgaria for business with a commercial purpose of stay. Please click.
- Service visit: This type of visa caters to people who tend to visit Bulgaria for a service visit. These customers are the members of official delegations who plan to participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations or exchange programs. Please click.

- Cultural, sport, scientific activities or education: This type of visa caters to those people who visit Bulgaria in order to participate in cultural, sport, scientific activities or with education purpose. Please click.
- Unorganized tourism: This type of visa caters to people who visit Bulgaria for unorganized tourism. This visa category is for those customers who prepare and submit documents for a visa on their own. Please click.

Overview
For persons who have their own property in Bulgaria.
It allows the citizens of Ukraine and permanent residents legally residing in Ukraine to travel to Bulgaria and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in a 6 months period.
Visa can be issued with validity up to 3 years without additional documents. For minor children the visa can be issued only to their age of majority. If the person aged from 18 to 21 year studies on full-time type of education, the visa can be issued till 21 years only. If the property has been bought after the age of majority of the child, and his name is not mentioned in the notarized act, then the child can't apply for this category of visa.
Visa application can be submitted by:
- Customer himself.
- Close relatives: spouses, parents, adult children, grandmother / grandfather, adult grandchildren (appropriate documents need to be provided to confirm such relationships).
- By the third person (in this case notarized power of attorney needs be provided).
- For minors – only parents, legal guardians or anyone who has notarized letter of attorney for submission.
At Odessa Visa Application Centre submission of the documents is available for:
- Customer himself.
- Parents/legal guardians (for minors).
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria №459 from 03 July 2014 it is possible to visit Bulgaria with a period of stay up to 90 days in 6 months period without Bulgarian national visa for:
- Holders of a short-term 2 or multiple entry Schengen visa and visa of Cyprus, Romania or Croatia.
- Holders of national visa (D) one of the countries of the Schengen Area or Cyprus, Romania and Croatia.
- Holders of residence permit in one of the countries of the Schengen Area or Cyprus, Romania and Croatia.
The customer will not be able to stay in Bulgaria for more days than specified in the visa. The number of days spent in Bulgaria is not deducted from the visa.

- members of official delegations, who following an official invitation shall participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations, or exchange programs, as well as events held in the territory of one of the Member States by intergovernmental organizations;
- members on national and regional Governments and Parliaments, Constitutional Courts and Supreme Courts;
- pupils, students, postgraduate students and teachers accompanying them when they come to attend school, study or educational training;

disabled persons and the person accompanying them, if necessary;
- persons travelling on humanitarian grounds (including urgent medical treatment) and the person accompanying, or to attend a funeral of a close relative, or to visit a seriously ill close relative;
- participants in scientific, cultural and artistic activities including university and other exchange programs;
- participants in official exchange programs organized by twin cities and other municipal entities;
- journalists and the technical crew accompanying them in a professional capacity;
- pensioners;
- drivers conducting international cargo and passenger transportation services to the territories of the Member States in vehicles registered in Ukraine;
- members of train, refrigerator and locomotive crews in international trains, travelling to the territories of the Member States;
- children under the age of 12;
- representatives of the religious communities;
- for members of the professions participating in international exhibitions, conferences, symposia, seminars or other similar events held in the territory of the Member States;
- participants aged 25 years or less in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events, organized by non-profit organizations;
- representatives of civil society organizations undertaking trips for the purposes of educational training, seminars, conferences, including in the framework of exchange programs;
- for participants in official European Union cross-border cooperation programs, such as under the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI).

Other nationalities:
- citizens of Belarus and Turkey under 12 years of age.
- children under 12, pensioners, disabled persons, journalists and close relatives of EU citizens;
- citizens of all other countries under 6 years of age.
Please note that all the fees are payable in Hryvnia (UAH) at the Cashier counter inside the Visa Application Centre according to the weekly exchange rate.
Credit card payments are available at the Visa Applications Centres in Kiev, Lviv, Kharkiv, Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk (only Visa card).
Currency exchange is available at the Visa Applications Centres in Lviv, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Odessa.
Form filling service is available at the Visa Applications Centres in Kiev, Lviv, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odessa.
The purchase of medical insurance policy service is available at the Visa Centres in Kiev, Kharkiv and Odessa.

Documents Required

For citizens of Ukraine and permanent residents legally residing in Ukraine who wish to apply for a Property owner visa category following documents are required:-
Visa application form.
- Completed for each customer including children. It can be filled out on your computer or in a written form.
- Filled out in Russian or Bulgarian languages. Name and surname has to be spelled in English according to international passport, the form has to be signed personally by the customer in the field 48.
- For minors, the application has to be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian.

One colour photograph.
- Size 35 x 45 mm.
- White background.
- Not older than 6 months.

Passport or other travel document.
- International passport.
- Copy of the first page of international passport with personal information.
- Passport should be valid for at least three months after the date of visa expiration.
- Passport must be issued within the last 10 years and should contain at least two blank pages.
- Extended passports will not be accepted.
- Endorsed children 5 years or older must have the photo included in the parent’s passport.

Medical travel insurance.
- Coverage of 30.000 Euro.
- Valid for Bulgaria, Europe or the whole world and covering the duration of stay.

Notary Act on the purchased property (нотариален акт за покупко-продажба на недвижим имот).
- In original or notarized copy. Original will be given back after submission.

Payment confirmation of taxes in the copy
Necessary documents depending on the customer’s personal situation:
-
For pensioners:
- Pension certificate or Statement from the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

For students:
- Student certificate and Statement from the University.

For foreign citizens:
- Valid residence permit. It has to be valid for at least 3 months after return to Ukraine.

For minors (age under 18):
- Birth certificate.
- Copies of the first pages of parent’s internal passports.
- Notarized consent from both of the parents in case of a minor travelling alone or a notarized consent from the parent who is not travelling in case a minor travelling with one of the parents. Visa Application Centres of Kyiv, Lviv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk accept notarized consent for travelling abroad for children under 16 years. Visa Application Centre of Odessa accepts notarized consent for children under 18 years.
At Odessa Visa Application Centre the following documents are to be submitted in originals along with mentioned above:
- Bank Statement or currency exchange receipt
- Work statement or School/University certificate
- Proof of intended transport (at least one must be presented): tickets reservation or copy of the registration certificate of the vehicle and a copy of driver’s license for those who will travel by the own vehicle.
ATTENTION:
The Embassy/Consulate General of Bulgaria has the right to ask for any other additional documents necessary, may call the customer for an interview, and keeps the right for refusal without any explanation. In all cases the visa fee is non-refundable.
Please note that you may purchase medical insurance policy at the Visa Application Centre as well as order form filling by Visa Application Centre manager during submission process.

Photo Specifications
A photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (preferably maximum 6 months old)
- Must be a color photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm
- Close up to your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph
- Full face taken straight forward 30 - 36 mm from point of the chin to head of hair
- Taken against a light background
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Processing Time
Processing time for Ukrainian nationals by usual process is 7-8 working days. In some cases consideration may be longer.
Embassy also reserves the right to ask for additional supporting documents during the visa application process. customers are requested to read the information on this website carefully. The guidelines listed here are intended to help you to prepare your documents as accurately as possible. This will reduce the chances of your application being incomplete or delayed.
Processing time for citizens of those countries which did not sign the Visa Facilitation Agreement is 15 working days.
The day of submission is not included in the time of consideration.
We kindly advise all customers to plan their trips in advance and apply 2-3 weeks before the date of travel.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Kyiv prior to a decision being made on your application. -
Application Form
Visa application form has to be completed for all the customers including minors electronically on your computer or in writing. The VAF has to be filled out in Russian or Bulgarian languages. Name and surname has to be spelled in English as in the foreign passport, the form needs to be signed personally by the customer in the field 48.
For minors, the application must be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian.

According to the Law of Ukraine About personal information, Personal Data Information Protection Agreement has been introduced and is required to be signed by each customer applying for a visa through the Visa Centers. For minors this agreement should be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian. We pay you attention that such agreement has to be signed personally by the customer even if submitting documents through a representative or accredited travel agency.

Overview
For persons who wish to visit friends or not close relatives in Bulgaria.

You can apply for this category if the inviting person is:
- Friend, colleague, uncle/aunt, brother/sister etc. and live legally on the territory of Bulgaria.
- The citizen of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus etc. who owns a property in Bulgaria. In this case, the inviting side has to provide an invitation and notarize it in the country of his/her legal citizenship.
Visa application can be submitted by:

Invitation Letter (at least one invitation must be submitted):
- Issued by the Migration Service of Bulgaria.
- Notarized invitation if the inviting person is property owner in Bulgaria but don’t live in Bulgaria:
- the invitation has to be notarized in the country which the inviting person is a citizen or resident of. It must contain the following information: duration of stay, passport details of the inviting person, apartment’s full address, contact phone number of the inviting person and passport details of the customer:
- copy of the utility bills receipts;
- copy of the notarized act of property purchase. For customers who apply at VAC in Odessa this document should be legalized by the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Odessa.

Financial documents (at least one must be submitted).
- Work statement on the company letterhead indicating the salary of the customer for the last 6 months.
- Bank Statement that confirms solvency of 50 EUR per person per day but not less than 500 EUR for the whole journey (bank income statement, ATM check with copy of the card, currency exchange receipt etc.).
- Pensioner statement from the Pension Fund of Ukraine indicating the amount of pension.
- University certificate with accrual of scholarships for the last 6 months.

Proof of intended transport (at least one must be presented).
- Tickets reservation.
- Copy of the registration certificate of the vehicle and a copy of driver’s license for those who will travel by the own vehicle.
Necessary documents depending on the customer’s personal situation:

For private entrepreneurs:
- Certificate of registration of private entrepreneur.

For pensioners:
- Pension certificate or Statement from the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

For students:
- Student certificate and Statement from the University.

For sponsorship:
- If the sponsor is a close relative of the customer: proof of kinship (a copy of the marriage/birth certificate) and sponsor’s financial documents. Close relatives are: spouses, children.
- If the customer is not a close relative: a notarized declaration of sponsorship and sponsor’s financial documents.

For foreign citizens:
- Valid residence permit. It has to be valid for at least 3 months after return to Ukraine.

For minors (age under 18):
- Birth certificate.
- Copies of the first pages of parent’s internal passports.

For persons who wish to visit Bulgaria for a business purpose with a commercial purpose of stay.
It allows the citizens of Ukraine and permanent residents legally residing in Ukraine to travel to Bulgaria and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in a 6 months period.
Visa application can be submitted by:
- Customer himself
- By colleague (power of attorney executed on company’s letterhead needs to be provided).
- By the third person in case of provided notarized power of attorney.
At Odessa Visa Application Centre documents are required to be submitted only personally by the customer.
If a one year multi visa is requested it is required to submit a copy of the previous 6 months Bulgarian visa.
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria №459 from 03 July 2014 it is possible to visit Bulgaria with a period of stay up to 90 days in 6 months period without Bulgarian national visa for:
- Holders of a short-term 2 or multiple entry Schengen visa and visa of Cyprus, Romania or Croatia.
- Holders of national visa (D) one of the countries of the Schengen Area or Cyprus, Romania and Croatia.
- Holders of residence permit in one of the countries of the Schengen Area or Cyprus, Romania and Croatia.
The customer will not be able to stay in Bulgaria for more days than specified in the visa. The number of days spent in Bulgaria is not deducted from the visa.

Invitation Letter:
- If an inviting part is a commercial organization only invitation issued by the Migration Service of Bulgaria can be accepted.
- If an inviting part is a non-commercial (public organization, charity foundation etc.) can be accepted written request on letterhead from an inviting part in Bulgaria. The
invitation must contain: duration and purpose of travel, passport details of each customer, event’s location, contact details of the representative in Bulgaria.
If this type of invitation is submitted, hotel reservation has to be submitted also (at least one from the list):
- Online hotel reservation (booking.com and etc.). It must contain the following information: passport details of each customer, the dates of the intended stay, reservation number, hotel address, contact phone number.
- Hotel reservation on the letterhead with stamp and signature of the authorized person. It must contain the following information: passport details of each customer, the date of the intended stay, reservation number, hotel address, contact phone number.
- If apartments are booked - invitation from the owner of the apartment legalized by Bulgarian notary. It must contain the following information: passport details of each customer, the date of the intended stay, apartment’s address and contact phone number of the owner.

Financial documents (at least one must be submitted).
- Work statement on the company letterhead indicating the salary of the customer for the last 6 months.
- Bank Statement that confirms solvency of 50 EUR per person per day but not less than 500 EUR for the whole journey (bank income statement, ATM check with copy of the card, currency exchange receipt etc.).
- Pensioner statement from the Pension Fund of Ukraine indicating the amount of pension.
- University certificate with accrual of scholarships for the last 6 months.

Proof of intended transport (at least one must be presented).
- Tickets reservation.
- Copy of the registration certificate of the vehicle and a copy of driver’s license for those who will travel by the own vehicle.
Necessary documents depending on the customer’s personal situation:

- Certificate or other document issued by a professional organization or employer of the customer certifying that the person is a qualified journalist, stating that the purpose of the trip is to carry out journalistic activities or certifying that the person is a member of the technical team, accompanied by reporters.

- Pension certificate or Statement from the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

- If the sponsor is a close relative of the customer: proof of kinship (a copy of the marriage/birth certificate) and sponsor’s financial documents. Close relatives are: spouses, children.
- If the customer is not a close relative: a notarized declaration of sponsorship and sponsor’s financial documents.
- If it is specified in the invitation that the hosting company takes care of all financial costs, the customer can submit his financial documents upon his discretion.

Valid residence permit. It has to be valid for at least 3 months after return to Ukraine.

A photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (preferably maximum 6 months old)
- Must be a color photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm
- Close up to your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph
- Full face taken straight forward 30 - 36 mm from point of the chin to head of hair
- Taken against a light background
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Processing Time
Processing time for Ukrainian nationals by usual process is 5 working days. In some cases consideration may be longer.
Embassy also reserves the right to ask for additional supporting documents during the visa application process. Customers are requested to read the information on this website carefully. Overview
For persons who wish to visit close relatives in Bulgaria - spouses, children (including adopted), parents (including custodians), grandparents and grandchildren who are citizens of Ukraine legally residing in the territory of Bulgaria or European Union or citizens of EU.
It allows the citizens of Ukraine and permanent residents legally residing in Ukraine to travel to Bulgaria and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in a 6 months period.
Visa application can be submitted by:
- Customer himself.
- Close relatives: spouses, parents, adult children, grandmother / grandfather, adult grandchildren (appropriate documents need to be provided to confirm such relationships).
- By the third person (in this case notarized power of attorney needs be provided).
- For minors – only parents, legal guardians or anyone who has notarized letter of attorney for submission.
At Odessa Visa Application Centre submission of the documents is available for:
- Customer himself.
- Parents/legal guardians (for minors).
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria №459 from 03 July 2014 it is possible to visit Bulgaria with a period of stay up to 90 days in 6 months period without Bulgarian national visa for:

- If an inviting part is a commercial organization can be accepted only invitation issued by the Migration Service of Bulgaria.
- If an inviting part is a non-commercial or state organization (federation, committee, ministry, sport club etc.) can be accepted written request to participate in the activity on the letterhead with the stamp and signed by authorized person. The invitation must contain: duration and purpose of travel, passport details of each customer, event’s location, address of accommodation, contact details of the representative in Bulgaria.
- Confirmation letter from the Ukrainian organization stating that the customer is a member of this organization (Sport Federation, University etc.)

Financial documents (at least one of the following must be presented).
- Work statement on the company letterhead indicating the salary of the customer for the last 6 months.
- Bank Statement that confirms solvency of 50 EUR per person per day but not less than 500 EUR for the whole journey (bank income statement, ATM check with copy of the card, currency exchange receipt etc.).
- Pensioner statement from the Pension Fund of Ukraine indicating the amount of pension.
- University certificate with accrual of scholarships for the last 6 months.

Proof of intended transport (at least one must be presented).
- Tickets reservation.
- Copy of the registration certificate of the vehicle and a copy of driver’s license for those who will travel by the own vehicle.

- Valid residence permit. It has to be valid for at least 3 months after return to Ukraine.

- Notarized consent from both of the parents in case of a minor travelling alone or a notarized consent from the parent who is not travelling in case a minor travelling with one of the parents. Visa Application Centres of Kyiv, Lviv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk accept notarized consent for travelling abroad for children under 16 years. Visa Application Centre of Odessa accepts notarized consent for children under 18 years.

A photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (preferably maximum 6 months old)
- Must be a color photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm
- Close up to your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph

Processing Time
According to the Visa Facilitation Agreement between Ukraine and EU the standard visa processing time is 10 calendar days.
Normal processing time for Ukrainian nationals is approximately 5 working days. For the nationals of those countries who do not have a visa facilitation agreement, the processing time is within 15 working days.
Normal visa processing time at the Visa Application Centre in Odessa is 4 working days.
For third-country nationals the processing time is more than 10 calendar days.
Fast Track procedure: 3 calendar days (excluding the day of submission).
Available for Ukrainian nationals if the urgency is proven.
The package of supporting documents needs to be full and complete. Such procedure is available only at the Visa Application Centre in Odessa.

Overview
For persons who wish to visit Bulgaria for organized tourism. This visa category is for those customers who prepare and submit documents for a visa through a travel agency. Only accredited travel agencies can apply documents to the Visa Application Centre. It allows the citizens of Ukraine and permanent residents legally residing in Ukraine to travel to Bulgaria and stay for a limited period of time of not more than 90 days in a 6 months period.

Submitting the documents to the Visa Application Centre a travel agent has to submit a power of attorney issued on the letterhead of the agency with the following information: passport data of the travel agent, passport data of tourists as well as the date of departure of tourists. The same power of attorney should be presented during passport collection.
For a one year visa it is required to submit a copy of the previous 6 months Bulgarian visa.
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria №459 from 03 July 2014 it is possible to visit Bulgaria with a period of stay up to 90 days in 6 months period without Bulgarian national visa for:
- Holders of a short-term 2 or multiple entry Schengen visa and visa of Cyprus, Romania or Croatia.

- Passport should be valid for at least three months after the date of visa expiration.

- Endorsed children 5 years or older must have the photo included in the parent’s passport.

Medical travel insurance.
- Coverage of 30.000 Euro.
- Valid for Bulgaria, Europe or the whole world and covering the duration of stay.

Hotel or other reservation.
- Reservation on the letterhead of the hotel with a stamp and signature of the authorized person. It must contain the following information: passport details of each customer, the dates of the intended stay, reservation number, hotel address, contact phone number.
- Online reservation (Booking.com and etc.) is accepted if the customer provides:
- Additional letter of confirmation from the hotel is provided indicating that the reservation is valid with the stamp of the hotel and signed by authorized person. And with passport details of each customer.
- The prepayment of the hotel was made (payment check or proof of money transfer).
- If apartments are booked – invitation from the apartment owner, certified by a Bulgarian notary. It must contain the following information: passport details of each customer, the date of the intended stay, reservation number, apartment’s address and contact phone number.
- If the purpose of the trip is camping – it is required to specify in visa application form the address of the location in Bulgaria (the location of the tent camp), as well as to provide financial documents at the rate of € 100 per day of stay per person. It is also necessary to provide the itinerary and print the map with a mark of your location in Bulgaria.
Please note: The customers, who applies in VAC in Odessa has to provide prepaid reservation of the hotel of 30% of total amount

Financial documents (at least one must be submitted).
- Work statement on the company letterhead indicating the salary of the customer for the last 6 months.
- Bank Statement that confirms solvency of 50 EUR per person per day but not less than 500 EUR for the whole journey (bank income statement, ATM check with copy of the card, currency exchange receipt etc.).
- Pensioner statement from the Pension Fund of Ukraine indicating the amount of pension.
- University certificate with accrual of scholarships for the last 6 months.
Please note: In case of providing hotel reservation with full payment (100%) financial documents are not obligatory for submission (except Odessa Visa Application Centre). Payment must be indicated in the hotel's letterhead or proof of money transfer should be provided.

Proof of intended transport (at least one must be presented).
- Tickets reservation.
- Copy of the registration certificate of the vehicle and a copy of driver’s license for those who will travel by the own vehicle.
Necessary documents depending on the customer’s personal situation:

For private entrepreneurs:
- Certificate of registration of private entrepreneur.

For pensioners:
- Pension certificate or Statement from the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

For students:
- Student certificate and Statement from the University.

For sponsorship:
- If the sponsor is a close relative of the customer: proof of kinship (a copy of the marriage/birth certificate) and sponsor’s financial documents. Close relatives are: spouses, children.
- If the customer is not a close relative: a notarized declaration of sponsorship and sponsor’s financial documents.

For foreign citizens:
- Valid residence permit. It has to be valid for at least 3 months after return to Ukraine.

For minors (age under 18):
- Birth certificate.
- Copies of the first pages of parent’s internal passports.
- Notarized consent from both of the parents in case of a minor travelling alone or a notarized consent from the parent who is not travelling in case a minor travelling with one of the parents. Visa Application Centres of Kyiv, Lviv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lutsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk accept notarized consent for travelling abroad for children under 16 years. Visa Application Centre of Odessa accepts notarized consent for children under 18 years.
Please note: Except the international passport, the photo and the application form only photocopies of the documents are required.
At Odessa Visa Application Centre following documents should be submitted in originals:
- Bank Statement.
- Work statement.
- Currency exchange receipt.
- School/University certificate.
ATTENTION:
The Embassy/Consulate General of Bulgaria has the right to ask for any other additional documents necessary, may call the customer for an interview, and keeps the right for refusal without any explanation. In all cases the visa fee is non-refundable.
Please note that you may purchase medical insurance policy at the Visa Application Centre as well as order form filling by Visa Application Centre manager during submission process.

Photo Specifications
A photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (preferably maximum 6 months old)
- Must be a color photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm
- Close up to your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70-80% of the photograph
- Full face taken straight forward 30 - 36 mm from point of the chin to head of hair
- Taken against a light background
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Processing Time
Processing time for Ukrainian nationals by usual process is 5 working days. In some cases consideration may be longer.
Embassy also reserves the right to ask for additional supporting documents during the visa application process. customers are requested to read the information on this website carefully. The guidelines listed here are intended to help you to prepare your documents as accurately as possible. This will reduce the chances of your application being incomplete or delayed.
Processing time at the Visa Application Centre of Odessa by usual process is 4 working days. In some cases consideration may be longer.
Processing time for citizens of those countries which did not sign the Visa Facilitation Agreement is 15 working days.
The day of submission is not included in the time of consideration.
Fast Track procedure: 3 calendar days (excluding the day of submission). The service is available for citizens of Ukraine and Russia if urgency is proved. The set of documents has to be complete. The service is available only at the Visa Application Centre in Odessa.
We kindly advise all customers to plan their trips in advance and apply 2-3 weeks before the date of travel.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Kyiv prior to a decision being made on your application. -
Application Form
Visa application form has to be completed for all the customers including minors electronically on your computer or in writing. The VAF has to be filled out in Russian or Bulgarian languages. Name and surname has to be spelled in English as in the foreign passport, the form needs to be signed personally by the customer in the field 48.
For minors, the application must be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian.

According to the Law of Ukraine About personal information, Personal Data Information Protection Agreement has been introduced and is required to be signed by each customer applying for a visa through the Visa Centers. For minors this agreement should be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian. We pay you attention that such agreement has to be signed personally by the customer even if submitting documents through a representative or accredited travel agency.
