Overview
Citizens of Algeria who plan to visit Croatia are required to have a visa. If you reside in Algeria please check whether you require a visa for Croatia: http://www.mvep.hr/en/consular-information/visas/visa-requirements-overview/.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Pursuant to the Government’s Decision, the Republic of Croatia decided to apply Decision No. 565/2016/EU according to which all visitors holders of valid Schengen documents do not require an additional (Croatian) visa to enter Croatia.
Visitors who are holders of:
- uniform visa (C) for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member States;
- visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa), for two or multiple entries, issued to the holder of a travel document that is not recognised by one or more, but not all of the Schengen Area Member States, and which is valid for the territory of the Member States recognising the travel document;
- long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
- residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
do not require a visa for transit or intended stays in the territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.

The period of validity of the above mentioned Schengen documents must cover the duration of the transit or stay.
Information for the holders of the Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen
A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.
he visa shall not entitle a visitor to enter the Republic of Croatia.
A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

Visa Fees
Fees are due on the visa application when applying.
EURO Algerian Dinars Visa fee 90 13100 Less than 12 year old: 0 Grats Service fee 33 4800 DZD Service fees: is payable in local currency cash by all applicants .
The following are exempt from visa fees upon application:
- Family members of a Croatian citizen (spouse and children),
- Family members of citizens of EEA Member States,
- Children up to the age of 12,
- Holders of diplomatic and service passports travelling in their official capacity
- Pupils, students, postgraduate students and teachers accompanying them when they come to attend school, study and professional training,
- Researchers coming to conduct research, as provided for by the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research,
- Representatives of non-profit organizations up to the age of 25, who are to attend seminars, conferences, sport, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
For citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cape Verde, Georgia, Moldova (holders of non-biometric passports), Ukraine and Russian Federation, visa fee is 6300 DZD/ 40 EURO.

A recent passport photo in color, on a white background.
- Passport valid for up to 3 months after the visa expires with at least 2 free pages + photocopy of the passport (copy of pages: 1 to 3, plus those where the visas and stamps appear).
- Travel insurance for a duration equal to that of the visa requested. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Croatia during the entire stay in Croatia. Covering medical and repatriation costs in the event of accidents or illness (minimum coverage of 30,000 euros)
Documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state:
- 70 EUR per day of the estimated stay in Croatia
- 30 EUR per day of the estimated stay in Croatia if a third-country national is in possession proof of paid tourist package, or similar document
- The supporting documents may include: pay slip and/or bank account statements about the balance and transactions on your bank account in the last three months, a pension slip, proof of scholarship received etc.
- Original bank history in dinars for the last three months + proof of economic resources in euros allowing the stay (credit card, traveller's checks, etc.).
- Justification of the socio-professional situation of the traveler:
- Employees: Certificate of employment or recent employment contract + three pay slips + leave document or mission order + certificate of affiliation to social security
- Trader: proof of registration in the commercial register + certificate of affiliation to social security + certificate of existence + management power of attorney + role extract + update from CASNOS
- Liberal professions: Installation decision / professional card. + Latest declaration of annual income.
- Farmers: Certification of agricultural holdings + Farmer Card + latest declaration of annual income.
- Students: school certificate + student card + proof of parents’ socio-professional situation.
- Unemployed: Proof of current financial resources.
- Retirees: retirement certificate.
- Reservation of the plane ticket indicating the complete itinerary of the stay. (no more than one stopover)
- Proof of the purpose of stay in Croatia:
- certificate of a paid tourist package;
- booking of a hotel or other accommodation;
- private accommodation booking (copy of the decision of the competent office in Croatia approving the renting)
- day to day itinerary with ensured accommodation for the entire stay
- proof of ownership or lease of a boat/yacht etc.;
- For minors and persons deprived of physical capacity: the application must be presented by a parent / legal representative, including:
For minors and persons deprived of legal capacity: visa application shall be submitted by a parent/legal representative, including:- birth certificate of the minor (if parents are legal guardians)
- decision of the competent body designating the legal guardian
If a minor is traveling without a parent/legal guardian(s), he or she must carry a certificate of authorization from a legal guardian which must contain
Personal information of the parent/legal guardian and the purpose, period and duration of stay in Croatia, What period ofPermission has been issued, and signature of the parent/legal guardian.
The attached documents must not be more than three months old.
- If the applicant is not an Algerian national: Algerian residence card valid for at least 3 months afterwards Expiration of the requested visa
The presentation of a complete file and the stamp of acknowledgment in the passport does not result in the prior issuance of the visa. visa cancellation/refusal.
Croatian Embassy may require you to submit additional supporting documents and/or certified translation as well as the international certification (appostille) of the documents during the visa application process.
All documents in Arabic, a translation into French or English is necessary.

Photo specifications and fingerprints
Photographs must follow the below guidelines
- in colour
- 35x45 mm
- printed on normal photographic paper
- taken against a light background
- full face taken straight forward 30-36 mm from point of the chin to the head of hair
- the person is to be captured with neutral facial expression, with his/her eyes open and mouth closed
- The photograph of a person, who for religious or medical reasons is wearing a head cover, must show the person's cheeks, chin and forehead
- children in photographs must be alone, and their faces fully visible and eyes open
Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If the presented photos do not follow these requirements your application will be considered incomplete!
fingerprints
When you submit your application your fingerprints will be taken. These will remain valid for 59 months. Some applicants, such as children under the age of 12, do not need to have their fingerprints taken.
Did you provide biometric data (fingerprints and photo) within the last 59 months prior to your current application? Then you can choose to have someone else submit your application for you. You do not have to appear in person. This also applies if you had your fingerprints taken within the last 59 months for a visa application submitted through another Schengen member state.
Please note that if, during the assessment of your application, it appears that your fingerprints are not in the system, you will have to come and submit them. Also, you can always be invited for an interview if your application gives reason to do so.

Processing Time
Standard visa processing time is up to 15 days from the receipt of the application at the Embassy (it could be shorter, depending on the documentation). However, in case the documents are not submitted as per requirement or due to other factors or justified reasons, the processing time may be extended to 30 or 60 days.
For citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cape Verde, Georgia, Moldova (holders of non-biometric passports), Ukraine and Russian Federation, visa processing time is up to 10 days. Documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state:

- Liberal professions: Installation decision / professional card. + Latest declaration of annual income.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Pursuant to the Government’s Decision, the Republic of Croatia decided to apply Decision No. 565/2016/EU according to which all visitors holders of valid Schengen documents do not require an additional (Croatian) visa to enter Croatia.
Visitors who are holders of:
- uniform visa (C) for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member States;
- visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa), for two or multiple entries, issued to the holder of a travel document that is not recognised by one or more, but not all of the Schengen Area Member States, and which is valid for the territory of the Member States recognising the travel document;
- long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
- residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;

Information for the holders of the Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen
A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.

A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa.

An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Pursuant to the Government’s Decision, the Republic of Croatia decided to apply Decision No. 565/2016/EU according to which all visitors holders of valid Schengen documents do not require an additional (Croatian) visa to enter Croatia.
Visitors who are holders of:
- uniform visa (C) for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member States;
- visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa), for two or multiple entries, issued to the holder of a travel document that is not recognised by one or more, but not all of the Schengen Area Member States, and which is valid for the territory of the Member States recognising the travel document;
- long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
- residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
do not require a visa for transit or intended stays in the territory of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.

The period of validity of the above mentioned Schengen documents must cover the duration of the transit or stay.
Information for the holders of the Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen
A family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the European Economic Area may travel to Croatia without a visa, if (s) he has a valid passport and a valid Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen, and is travelling in the company of or is joining the family member who is a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA. If the family member of a citizen of an EU Member State or the EEA does not have such a card, (s) he needs a Croatian visa that will be issued on the basis of an accelerated procedure, free of charge.
A short-stay visa (C-visa) allows the visitor to transit through, or stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a maximum of 90 days in any period 180 day-period. It is issued for one, two, or multiple entries for the purpose of transit, tourism, business, private or other purposes. Its validity period depends on the circumstances of the visitor’s travel to Croatia and may not exceed five years.
he visa shall not entitle a visitor to enter the Republic of Croatia.
A foreigner cannot work in Croatia on the basis of a short-term visa.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

- Means of transportation: travel ticket for airplane, bus, or boat; registration card and driver's license if travelling by car
- Proof of entry into a third county (visa issued for a third country, if required) or proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).
- Documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state.

Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reasons, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for the territory of the Republic of Croatia during the entire stay in Croatia.
The applicant for a multiple-entry visa must have travel health-insurance policy that covers the period of the first visit to Croatia.
- Proof of residence for nationals other than Algeria: a photocopy of the stay permit;
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: reservation of return travel ticket for airplane, bus, or boat; registration card and driver's license if travelling by car; if the person is travelling to a third country, then proof of itinerary (travel ticket, etc.).
- Proof of the purpose of stay in Croatia:
- document from medical institution confirming necessity for medical care in that institution and proof of sufficient financial means to pay for the treatment;

Letter of Guarantee by Legal Person: in original or copy if the original is deposited at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in Croatia; with the Letter of Guarantee, the guarantor shall enclose a proof of solvency (BON 1 or BON 2 Forms, or a confirmation of the Commercial Court that it is not in liquidation etc.); the applicant shall be handed a photocopy of the Letter of Guarantee.

The applicant receives a copy of the Letter of Guarantee so that (s)he may present proof of the purpose of stay in Croatia if requested to do so by border control authority.

Documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state:
- 70 EUR per day of the estimated stay in Croatia
- 30 EUR per day of the estimated stay in Croatia if a third-country national is in possession of a certified Letter of Guarantee by Natural or Legal Person from the Republic of Croatia
Exceptionally, if the Letter of Guarantee indicates the guarantor is fully accepting all the expenses related to visiting and departing from Croatia, the applicant can be exempt from the requirement to present the proof of sufficient funds.
The supporting documents may include: pay slip and/or bank account statements about the balance and transactions on your bank account in the last three months, a pension slip, proof of scholarship received etc.
- Proof of professional or student status: evidence of employment, certificate of school attendance or proof of studying etc; ; for retired persons – proof of pension
- Accommodation: hotel booking, private or other accommodation, real estate title deed or lease, proof of ownership or lease of a boat etc. Accommodation can be provided by the guarantor or the inviting party if so indicated in the Letter of Guarantee.
- For minors and persons deprived of legal capacity: visa application shall be submitted by a parent/legal representative, including:
- birth certificate of the minor (if parents are legal guardians)
- decision of the competent body designating the legal guardian
If a minor is traveling without a parent/legal guardian, (s)he must carry a notarized consent of a legal guardian that shall contain personal information of the parent/legal guardian and the purpose, the period and length of stay in Croatia, the period for which the consent is issued, and the signature of the parent/legal guardian.
The documents attached shall not be older than three months.

- Uniform (C) visa for two or multiple entries, valid for all Schengen Area Member States;
- Visa with limited territorial validity (LTV visa) for two or multiple entries, issued to a holder of a travel document that is not recognised by one or more but not all of the Schengen Area Member States and which is valid for the territory of the Member States recognising the travel document;
- Long-stay visa (D) for stays exceeding three months, issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
- Residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Area Member State;
do not require a visa for transit or intended stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia that does not exceed 90 days in any period of 180 day-period.
Nationals of Kosovo, who are holders of Schengen visas with limited territorial validity (LTV visas), valid for all Schengen countries except for Greece and
Spain, do not require additional Croatian visa for transit through or intended stays in the territory of the Republic of Croatia not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.
The period of validity of the above mentioned Schengen documents must cover the duration of the transit or stay.
This facilitated entry of aliens is in force until Croatia fully applies the provisions of the Schengen acquis.
Important notes and warnings:
- Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa. officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Algeria prior to a decision being made on your application.
- Embassy also reserves the right to ask for additional supporting documents during the visa application process.
- Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
- An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present a photocopy of the Letter of Guarantee in case of both private and business visits, and it is therefore recommendable to carry the Letter of Guarantee, as well as the proof of having sufficient funds, in hand baggage.
- The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
- A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is HRK 260 or EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
- The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
- An Embassy/Consular Post may invite the applicant to an interview; require him/her to submit further documents and/or certified translation as well as the international certification (apostille) of the documents.
- Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.
- A visa is the approval for transit through the territory of the Republic of Croatia or for entering the Republic of Croatia and staying up to three months in each six-month period counting from the date of the first entry.
- It is issued for one, two or more entries for transit, tourist, business, private or other purposes.
- The expiry date depends on the circumstances and cannot exceed five years.
- The possession of a visa does not grant the entry into the Republic of Croatia. Other legal requirements must also be met. Aliens may not work on the territory of the Republic of Croatia based on a visa alone.
- Aliens must apply for a visa prior to their entry into the Republic of Croatia, at the Visa Application Centre or the competent diplomatic mission/consular post.
- An alien shall apply for the visa personally. Exceptionally, an alien need not file the application personally, but they shall present themselves when called upon by the diplomatic mission/consular post.
- A visa application for an alien minor or an alien deprived of their business capacity shall be submitted by their legal representative.
- Visa application forms shall be submitted no sooner than three months prior to the date of the intended trip.
