Overview
Citizens of China who plan to visit Croatia are required to have a visa. If you are a Foreign national and reside in China please check whether you require a visa for Croatia: http://www.mvep.hr/en/consular-information/visas/visa-requirements-overview/.
Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

Fees are due on the visa application when applying.
CATEGORY VISA FEE IN CNY Tourist 710 The following are exempt from visa fees upon application:
- Family members of a Croatian citizen (spouse and children),
- Family members of citizens of EEA Member States,
- Children under the age of 12(not including 12 years’ old),
- Holders of diplomatic and service passports travelling in their official capacity
- Pupils, students, postgraduate students and teachers accompanying them when they come to attend school, study and professional training,
- Researchers coming to conduct research, as provided for by the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research,
- Representatives of non-profit organizations under the age of 25, who are to attend seminars, conferences, sport, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.
For citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cape Verde, Georgia, Moldova (holders of non-biometric passports), Ukraine and Russian Federation, visa fee is 35 EUR( 277CNY)

Photo Specifications
A Photograph submitted with the application form should comply with the following specifications:
- Latest photograph not older than 6 months
- Color photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 45mm x 35mm
- 70-80% of the photograph should be covered by face
- Full face straight profile photograph, 30-36 mm from point of the chin to head
- Should be taken against a White background
- Should be without sunglasses, hat or cap
- Photograph can be taken with headgear, after consideration on case to case basis if the applicant wears headgear on religious grounds.
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses. The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Processing Time
Standard visa processing time is up to 15 days from the receipt of the application at the Embassy, except the delivery time to and from satellite city (Shanghai/Guangzhou/Xi’an/Chongqing/Hangzhou/Shenyang/Wuhan/Changsha/Chengdu/Shenzhen/Fuzhou/Jinan/Nanjing/Kunming) to and from Embassy (it could be shorter, depending on the documentation). However, in case the documents are not submitted as per requirement or due to other factors or justified reasons, the processing time may be extended to 30 or 60 days.
For citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cape Verde, Georgia, Moldova (holders of non-biometric passports), Ukraine and Russian Federation, visa processing time is up to 10 days from the receipt of the application at the Embassy, except the delivery time to and from satellite city (Shanghai/Guangzhou/Xi’an/Chongqing/Hangzhou/Shenyang/Wuhan/Changsha/Chengdu/Shenzhen/Fuzhou/Jinan/Nanjing/Kunming) to and from Embassy. Visa application form has to be completed for all the applicants including minors electronically on your computer. The visa application form has to be filled out in English or Croatian languages. The form needs to be signed personally by the applicant in the field 37 and on the last page.
For minors, the application must be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian.
Visa application form must be filled out electronically (online application form) and then submitted to the VFS with the on-line application serial number

Overview

Please note that you may be required to come for a personal interview with the visa officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia prior to a decision being made on your application.
Submitting a visa application, including all the required documents, does not automatically mean that the visa will be issued.
An issued visa is not a guarantee that a foreign citizen will be permitted to enter the Republic of Croatia. On every crossing of the border, the police may require the foreign citizen to present all relevant documents, including copies of the Letters of Guarantee for both private and business visits.
The decision to refuse a visa, indicating reasons for such a decision, shall be delivered to the applicant in a visa refusal/annulment/revocation form.
A foreign citizen may file a complaint against the decision to refuse a visa through the competent Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Croatia, within 15 days from the date of receipt of the decision on visa refusal/annulment/revocation. The complaint shall be filed in Croatian. The fee for non-European countries is EUR 26 or US$ 35, according to Section 78b of the Law on Administrative Fees.
The visa application fee is non-refundable once the application has been accepted at the Embassy.
Any falsification of the documents and the use of such documents may be subject to criminal prosecution.

- Should be passport sized 45mm x 35mm
- 70-80% of the photograph should be covered by face
- Full face straight profile photograph, 30-36 mm from point of the chin to head
- Should be taken against a White background
- Should be without sunglasses, hat or cap
- Photograph can be taken with headgear, after consideration on case to case basis if the applicant wears headgear on religious grounds.
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses. The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Passport: issued within the last 10 years, with expiry date exceeding the expiry date of the requested visa by a minimum of three moths, and containing at least two empty pages.
Please copy all previous (valid and expired) visas and used pages.

Travel health insurance to cover the possible expenses related to repatriation, for health reason, urgent medical assistance and/or urgent hospitalization, with the minimum coverage of EUR 30 000. The insurance must be valid for territory of the Republic of Croatia during the entire stay in Croatia.
The applicant for a multiple-entry visa must have travel health-insurance policy that covers the period of the first visit to Croatia.
- Proof of residence for nationals other than China: a photocopy of the stay permit.
- For Chinese nationals, original Hukou, with copy of all pages
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: reservation of return travel ticket for airplane, but, or boat; registration card and driver’s license if travelling by car; if the person is travelling to a third country, then proof of itinerary (travel ticket, ect.).

Proof of the purpose of stay in Croatia:
Letter of Guarantee by Legal Person: in original or copy if the original is deposited at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in Croatia; the applicant shall be handed a photocopy of the Letter of Guarantee.
The applicant receives a copy of the Letter of Guarantee so that (s)he may present the proof of the purpose of the staty in Croatia if requested to do so by border control authority.
- Letter of invitation letter issued by a Croatian state authority, or the organizer of an international meeting or manifest organization under the auspices of the Croatian Parliament, the President of the Republic of Croatia or the Government of the Republic of Croatia (copy)

Documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Croatia and to return to the state of residence or to travel to a third state:
- 70 EUR per day of the estimated stay in Croatia
- 30 EUR per day of the estimated stay in Croatia if a third-country national is in possession proof of paid tourist package, or similar document
Exceptionally, if the Letter of Guarantee/Invitation Letter indicates the guarantor is fully accepting all the expenses related to visiting and departing from Croatia, the applicant can be exempt from the requirement to present the proof of sufficient funds.
The supporting documents may include: pay slip and /or bank account statements about the balance and transactions on your bank account in the last three months, a pension slip, and proof of scholarship received etc.

Proof of professional or student status:
- evidence of employment – a sealed copy of the business license of the employing company
- a letter from the employer (in English, or in Chinese with an English translation) on official company paper with stamp, signature, date and clearly mentioning:
- address, telephone and fax numbers of the employing company
- the name and position in the employing company of the countersigning officer
- the name of the applicant, position, salary and years of service
- approval for leave or absence
- for students - student card and original letter of the school, signed and sealed, mentioning:
- full address, telephone number of the school
- permission for absence
- name and function of the person giving the permission
- for retired persons – proof of pension and/or proof of regular income.;
- for unemployed persons
- if married – letter of employment and income of spouse + Notary certificate of marriage, legalized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- if single, divorced or widow/widower: any other proof of regular income

For minors and persons deprived of legal capacity: visa application shall be submitted by a parent/legal representative, including:
- birth certificate of the minor (if parents are legal guardians) legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- decision of the competent body designating the legal guardian legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
If a minor is traveling without a parent/legal guardian, (s)he must carry a notarized consent of a parent(s)/legal guardian that shall contain personal information of the parent/legal guardian and the purpose, the period and length of stay in Croatia, the period for which the consent is issued, and the signature of the parent/legal guardian, legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Accommodation: hotel booking, private or other accommodation, real estate title deed or lease, proof of ownership or lease of a boat etc. Accommodation can be provided by the guarantor or the inviting party if so indicated in the Letter of Guarantee or the Letter of Invitation.
The documents attached shall not be older than three months.
Croatian Embassy may require you to submit additional supporting documents and/or certified translation as well as the international certification of the documents during the visa application process. -

For minors, the application must be signed by one of the parents or a legal guardian.

Long-term visa (Type D)

Overview
Visa type D substitutes the procedure of short-term (type C) visa applications of third-country nationals who have been granted temporary stay or issued stay and work permit by the competent Police Directorate/Police Administration.
The long-term visa is an approval to stay in the territory of the Republic of Croatia up to 30 days if a third-country national has been granted temporary stay for:
- family reunification,
- secondary school education,
- university studies,
- research,
- humanitarian grounds,
- life partnership,
- work;
- work of a posted worker;
- stay of long-term residents in another EEA Member State,
- stay of digital nomads,
- other purposes
Visa type D is issued:
- to third-country nationals who have been granted temporary stay or issued stay and work permit, and are required to hold a short-term visa to enter the Republic of Croatia;
- for maximum 30-days' stay;
- for one (1) or multiple (MULT) entries;
- with the period of validity no longer than six months; long-term visa shall not become valid prior to the beginning of validity of the granted temporary stay or the issued stay and work permit in the Republic of Croatia; in a valid travel document in the form of the sticker also used for the issuance of visas type C; the letter “D” is entered into the category “Type of visa”.
The procedure of issuance of long-term visas is identical to the procedure employed until now for the issuance of short-term visas to third-country nationals who have been granted temporary stay or issued stay and work permit by the competent Police Directorate/Police Administration.
A long-term visa application shall be considered admissible if:
it was submitted no sooner than two months before and no later than two months after the beginning of validity of temporary stay or the issued stay and work permit in the Republic of Croatia
it was submitted on a prescribed form
a travel document is presented along with the application with validity at least three months longer than the validity of the granted temporary stay it includes a photograph
the third-country national has been granted temporary stay or issued a stay and work permit in the Republic of Croatia
the prescribed administrative fee has been paid (737 CNY)
If the above conditions are not fulfilled, long-term visa application shall be considered inadmissible, all documents enclosed shall be returned to the applicant, and the amount of administrative fee paid shall be refunded.
When applying for a long-term visa, the applicant is obliged to submit:
- filled in and personally signed prescribed long-term visa (type D) application form;
- valid travel document with at least two empty pages, issued within the past ten years, with validity at least three months longer than the validity of the granted temporary stay or issued stay and work permit;
- a photograph of identical characteristics to the one submitted with the application for short-term visas;
- proof of granted temporary stay or issued stay and work permit in the Republic of Croatia;
- proof of means of transportation;
- proof of travel health insurance, if applicable;
- proof of payment of the administrative fee (737 CNY).

Fees are due on the visa application when applying.

Applicant may need to submit Online Application Form on crovisa.mvep.hr and choose the purpose of travel in the Application Form.

Photo Specifications
A Photograph submitted with the application form should comply with the following specifications:
- Latest photograph not older than 6 months
- Color photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be passport sized 45mm x 35mm
- 70-80% of the photograph should be covered by face
- Full face straight profile photograph, 30-36 mm from point of the chin to head
- Should be taken against a White background
- Should be without sunglasses, hat or cap
- Photograph can be taken with headgear, after consideration on case to case basis if the applicant wears headgear on religious grounds.
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses. The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes
- The mouth must be closed

Processing Time
Standard visa processing time is up to 15 days from the receipt of the application at the Embassy, except the delivery time to and from satellite city (Shanghai/Guangzhou/Xi’an/Chongqing/Hangzhou/Shenyang/Wuhan/Changsha/Chengdu/Shenzhen/Fuzhou/Jinan/Nanjing/Kunming) to and from Embassy (it could be shorter, depending on the documentation).
