VISA TYPES
Select the visa type that is right for you to see important information on visa fees, documents required, forms, photo specifications and processing times.
Short term visas are visas that permit for intended stay up to 90 days only. Applicants travelling for a period less than 90 days are obliged for a shot term visa.
Avoid the last minute appointments:
On the occasion of main holidays in Egypt; it is advisable to plan your travel well in advance.
Applicant’s lack of planning will not be a priority to the Embassy
- It is advisable to prepare all your required documents corresponding to your travel dates, to avoid delay in the application process and to make sure that applying for the visa is about 60 days before travelling date.
- Visa Application Centre procedure is not compulsory, applicants can also apply directly to the visa section at the Embassy of CYPRUS in Cairo to submit their applications with prior appointment through the call center 02-33323006, or contacting directly the Consular Section of the Embassy.
- If any applicant is married to a Cyprus citizen, he / she must contact the Consulate and arrange for an appointment to apply directly there (Gratis visa).
- If the applicant has a residency in EU and he / she wants to travel to Cyprus, he /she can travel without visa if he will travel from the Schengen area or any other place than Egypt. If He / She will travel from Egypt it is suggested that he applies for visa at the consulate in order to avoid any difficulties during his/her departure at the airport.

If any applicant has multiple Schengen visa or valid multiple visas from Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia he/she can travel to Cyprus with it, but if the applicant insists to get a visa from Cyprus he/she can submit his/her paper in VFS Global.
- The applicant is strongly advised to bring direct flight from Cairo to Cyprus. In any other case the Consulate may request that the ticket is changed to a direct one.
- Processing time is up to ten working days
- Holders of passports who do not need a visa to enter the Schengen area do not need a visa to Cyprus either (including inter alias Canadian, American, EU, Australian passports).
- Special passport, services passport, diplomatic passport of the Arab Republic of Egypt do not need a visa to Cyprus they can travel directly.
- Applicants may submit their applications at the nearest VFS Global visa application Centre. They may also submit their visa applications at The Embassy /Consulate General.
- Any Applicants, rather than Egyptian citizens, have to contact the embassy directly, notVFS Global visa application centres.
- Entering Cyprus through the illegally Turkish occupied part of Cyprus (Ercan airport, ports of Kerynia and Famagusta) is illegal even if the person holds a valid visa of the Republic of Cyprus.Visitors should only enter Cyprus through the airports of Larnaca, Pafos and the ports of Limassol and Nicosia

Once received by the Visa Application Centre, applications will be sent to the Embassy of Cyprus in Cairo the next working day and the applicant might be contacted by the Embassy for any further inquiries or for a personal Interview. Once the assessment is completed by the Embassy of Cyprus, the decision together with the passport and the other relevant documents will be available for collection from the Visa Application Centre.
Travelling date must be at most 60 days before applying for the VISA.
All non- Egyptian citizens who are applying for Cyprus visa must get in touch with the embassy not VFS, and they must have at least 6 months validity on their residency in Egypt form the date of return from Cyprus.

- Photocopy for the biometric page and all visas and stamps on the current passport.

- First travelers.
- No previous passport covering the last 7 years (Noting that the gap between the two passports doesn’t exceed 1 month).

No previous used Cyprus, Schengen, UK or USA visa.
- Movement certificate is required for the applicant who their age more than 18 years old.
- Photocopy from Egyptian National ID.
- Original Certificate of the employment: specifying the date of recruitment, salary level.
- Documents to be provided by company owner: copy of the commercial registry and tax card.
- Documents to be provided by pupils /students: original proof of enrollment in school/university.

Original personal bank statements, for the past 6 months, not older than 10 days (All pages must be stamped)
- A round direct flight ticket. (preliminary/temporary reservation)
- Hotel booking confirmation or proof of accommodation. (preliminary/temporary reservation).
Concerning the minors:
- Birth certificate copy or original must be submitted.
- If the minor travel without his/her guardian: consent of the parental authority ( both parents ) or legal guardian shall be signed by both parents in a copy of their passport or national ID or at the parental approval form issued from the school itself ( group from school ) .In case of one guardian is residing in another country, he/she should visit the nearest Cypriot Embassy or the Egyptian Consulate in order to sign the consent and the applicant can apply with a copy or the original.
All the parents have to show up at the Cyprus embassy to sign their approval within the week of submission.

Photo Specifications
- The photograph must be in color.
- It should have white or color background ,so that features are distinguishable and in contrast against the background.
- It should be in sharp focus and clear.
- It should be of high quality with no ink marks and creases.
- The photograph must show you looking directly at the camera.
- It should be 4 cm X 5 cm.
- It should show your skin tone naturally.
- It should have appropriate brightness and contrast.
- The photograph should be a recent one not more than 6 months old.
- Photograph can be taken with headgear, The main characteristics of the face must be apparent from the photograph. Chin, nose, eyes and eyebrows must not be covered; the forehead should be uncovered to the extent that the shape of the face is apparent.
- It should be without hat/cap.
- It should be without the applicant's hair tucked behind his/her ears.
- The photograph must show facing square on to the camera, not looking over the shoulder or tilted, and showing both edges of the face clearly.
- If wearing glasses the photograph must show the eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses and no tinted lenses (if possible, avoid heavy frames – lighter framed glasses to be worn). Make sure the frame does not cover any part of the eye.
- The photograph must show alone (no chair backs, toys or other people visible) looking at the camera with a neutral expression and the mouth closed.
- The photograph should not have any staple marks.

Assumption of responsibility (copy or original) should be signed by the host and be stamped by the local authorities in Cyprus.
- Letter of guarantee (copy or original) (Bank guarantee) from the bank in Cyprus stamped by the Ministry of Interior.

- In case of the work permit :
- The applicant must bring photocopy from the work permit and copy of spouse’s passport.
- In case the applicant submits assumption of responsibility and the letter of guarantee, he /she has to submit Original personal bank statements, for the past 6 months stamped and not older than 10 days. In case of the permit of stay of the host in Cyprus has been expired and he is Appling for a renewal, the applicant must bring copy from the current permit in addition to that copy from the receipt of the renewal.

Once the assessment is completed by the Embassy of Cyprus, the decision together with the passport and the other relevant documents will be available for collection from the Visa Application Centre.
