Overview

VISA REQUIREMENTS - DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

1. Application form properly filled out and signed by the applicant
2. One recent passport - sized photograph in color with white background.

3. Passport:

   • The passport should be valid for at least 6 months after return from the planned trip.
   • Current passport must contain at least two blank pages.
   • If the applicant has any previous passports he/she must present them with the application.
   • Photocopy for the biometric page and all visas and stamps on the current passport.

4. A recent official letter from the employer, addressed to the Cyprus Representative Office with proof of the applicants wages / salary. If self-employed, a letter from the solicitor, the accountant or the bank manager of the applicant will be sufficient.

   • Documents to be provided by company owner: copy of the commercial registry.
   • Documents to be provided by pupils/students: original proof of enrollment in school/university
   • In case of business trip, property purchase or participation to a Conference, an official letter of invitation from a Cyprus company or the organizers of the Conference must be presented.
   • For a visit to family or friends, a letter of invitation, including complete address, phone number and occupation in Cyprus, must be submitted, as well as a certified Assumption of Responsibility form, duly completed and signed by the host, and a letter of bank guarantee endorsed by the migration Department in Cyprus.
   • For health reasons visit, a certificate from the hospital or clinic in Cyprus
5. Solid evidence that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the intended stay in Cyprus, i.e. original personal bank statements for the past 6 months, not over 20 days old.
6. Travel medical insurance that covers the entire period of the applicant’s intended stay or transit with minimum medical coverage of Euro 30.000. The policy number and dates of cover must appear on the document. No quotations will be accepted.
7. A round-trip ticket. (preliminary/temporary reservation)*
8. Hotel booking confirmation or proof of accommodation. (preliminary/temporary reservation)*.

* In order for the Representation Office to grand an entry Visa, a fully or partially pre-paid Hotel Reservation or other proof of confirmed accommodation arrangements, as well as final travel arrangements will be required (requirements may vary on the basis of the Office’s judgment).

Concerning minors:

1. Certified parental consent for children under 18 travelling alone or with school-group

Photo Specifications

The photographs must be:

• no more than 6-months old
• 35–40 mm in width
• close of your head and top of your shoulders so that your face takes up 70–80% of the photograph.
• in sharp focus and clear
• of high quality with no ink marks or crease

The photographs must:

• show you looking directly at the camera.
• show your skin tones naturally.
• have appropriate brightness and contrast.
• be printed on high quality paper, and at high resolution.
• Photographs taken with a digital camera must be high quality colour and printed on photo-quality paper.

The photographs must:

• be colour neutral.
• show your eyes open and clearly visible—no hair across your eyes.
• show you facing square on to the camera, not looking over one shoulder (portrait style) or tilted and showing both -edges of your face clearly.
• be taken with a plain, white-coloured background.
• the photograph must show your eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses, and no tinted lenses (if possible, avoid heavy frames— wear lighter framed glasses if you have them)
• make sure that the frames do not cover any part of your eyes.

Head coverings:

• are not permitted except for religious reasons, but your facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of your face must be clearly shown.

Your photographs must:

• show you alone (no chair backs, toys or other people visible), looking at the camera with a neutral expression and your mouth closed

Processing Time

The processing time of a visa application is approximately 15 working days, so applicants are advised to leave enough time - between the appointment submission date and travel date - for the Mission to process their visa application; no guarantees can be given on the visa application’s return date as delays may occur.

In order to avoid any delays in the visa application process, it is paramount that the visa application is complete and its documents submitted are as per the Mission’s requirements.

Applicants also need to be aware that, especially during busy season around Eid, Summer holidays (July and August) and Christmas, as the Mission only processes a fixed amount of visa applications on a daily basis.

Furthermore applicants need to consider that VFS/Mission’s closures and holidays may extend the visa application processing time.

Please be advised that due to the above mentioned minimum processing time, we are not able to guarantee the return of passports by specific dates for travel.

Every applicant can submit his/her Cyprus visa application within 80 Days of date of return from Cyprus. Please book your appointment according to the given condition only.
