Short Stay
If you wish to stay in Denmark for more than three months you must apply for a residence permit.
From 01 July 2019, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark including all Danish diplomatic missions are introducing online payment of the embassy fee for residence or work permit.
The embassy fee should be paid online using this link https://dys.um.dk/permit/
The receipt for the payment should be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) when you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics. Please note that in R/W permit cases there are three fees to be paid:
- The fee to either The Danish Immigration Service or The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI),
- The fee to the Danish embassy (using the link https://dys.um.dk/permit/) and
- The fee to the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS).”

Photo Specifications
Size of photograph for visa applications
After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.
The photograph must still be in color with bright background.
Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.
Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.

The Consulate’s processing time in visa cases is currently approximately 15 days (subject to change). Also please note that business applications are prioritized.Please refer to Visa Code Art.23 for more information. Click here to access the Visa Codes.
Please note that all applications are processed individually. The Visa Officer may invite you for an interview or request further documentation or information, which can prolong the processing time.

Red Carpet
The Red Carpet Program introduces simplified procedures for obtaining Danish Schengen visas for applicants who travel regularly to Denmark for business purposes. The aim is to assist those companies, organizations, NGO’s etc. that have business relations with a Danish company or organization.
The Red Carpet Program is open to private and public companies or organizations provided they meet the requirements mentioned on the local Danish embassy’s website. The accreditation of a company or organization must have taken place before an employee/associate can benefit from the Red Carpet Program.

Family Members Of Eu Or Eea Nationals

Overview
This visa is solely for family members of EU or EEA nationals. This visa is given for a travel period of less than 90 days.
You may be entitled to an accelerated visa procedure free of charge if you meet the following criteria:
- you are a family member of an European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) citizen; and
- that EU/EEA citizen is travelling to or is residing in a member state other than that of which he/she is a citizen; and
- you are accompanying the EU/EEA citizen or planning to join him/her in the Schengen State of destination.
If you think you are entitled to an accelerated visa procedure you will need to show proof that you meet these criteria when you submit your visa application.

- In case any document is missing on submission date, additional documents can be submitted only by applicants themselves at VFS within 5 business days.

Photo Specifications
- Size of photograph for visa applications
- After the instalment of a new system for scanning biometrics, including photographs for visa application, it is now possible to lodge a photograph of size 35 x 45 mm. Length of the head should not exceed 30 to 36 mm in length from chin to top of hair.
- The photograph must still be in color with bright background.
- Danish Visa Application Centre has been instructed by Danish mission to inform applicants that the visa application is not acceptable if the photograph does not comply with the above format.
- Applicants may therefore obtain a new photograph that meets all requirements before The Danish Visa Application Centre can receive the application.

Processing Time
Due to a current high demand in visa applications for Denmark and Iceland, applicants must expect a longer processing time.
The Consulate’s processing time in visa cases is currently approximately 15 days (subject to change). Also please note that business applications are prioritized.Please refer to Visa Code Art.23 for more information. Click here to access the Visa Codes.

Please note that all applications are processed individually. The Visa Officer may invite you for an interview or request further documentation or information, which can prolong the processing time.

"NEW MANDATORY ONLINE VISA APPLICATION: From the 01 July 2019, you must fill in your visa application and pay the application fee online. After you have applied and paid the visa fee online, you must print the cover letter and payment receipt from ApplyVisa ‘’ .

After completing the visa application form and paying visa fee online, you must book an appointment to submit your documents at VFS by clicking here. Make sure to bring along all the required documents and hand in supporting documents at the Visa Application Centre.
Make sure you are on time for your appointment; for those showing up late there is no guarantee that the application can be submitted and applicants may need to reschedule their appointment. Kindly, notify the Denmark visa application centre if you are unable to make your appointment.
Long Term Visa
If you wish to stay in Denmark for more than three months you must apply for a residence permit.
From 01 July 2019, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark including all Danish diplomatic missions are introducing online payment of the embassy fee for residence or work permit.
The embassy fee should be paid online using this link https://dys.um.dk/permit/
The receipt for the payment should be submitted at the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS) when you hand in your passport, relevant documentation and supply biometrics. Please note that in R/W permit cases there are three fees to be paid:
- The fee to either The Danish Immigration Service or The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI),
- The fee to the Danish embassy (using the link https://dys.um.dk/permit/) and
- The fee to the Danish Visa Application Centre (VFS).

- Valid original travel document
- Other required supporting documents followed by rightfully translated versions according to the list covering the specific application form
