Overview
Business visas are issued for business trips, professional or commercial purposes. It is granted for sixty (60) days and may be automatically renewed at the request of the interested party within the term of 60 days of validity, without the express authorization of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. If the person needs to travel to the country more frequently, they can request a multiple-entry business visa valid for one year, not being able to stay in the country for more than two consecutive months.
All citizens of the world who wish to do business in the Dominican Republic can apply for a Business Visa at VFS Global as the official partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic.
Resolution time
Within 1-10 business days from the date when the applications is submitted, depending on the level of urgency, nationality of the applicant, pending applications in queue and personnel availability

- Having completed all the requirements set forth above, does not mean an approval of the visa, but indicates that the consulate can accept your request, evaluate it and send it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will issue a final decision.

Single-entry business visa (NS - Negocios Simple)
Requirements:
- Completed and duly completed Visa Form typed or legibly printed.
- Visa request letter (without notarization), addressed to the consul, signed by the company or institution to which the beneficiary belongs, containing the name of the beneficiary, nationality, place of residence, activity to which it is dedicated, economic means with which account and purpose of trip to the country. This document must be issued by the company or institution to which the beneficiary belongs on a stamped and sealed sheet.
- Original passport with a minimum validity of six (06) months.
- Legible photocopy of the Residence Card. (If apply)
- Certificate of No Criminal Record (Not required for minors) issued (in date less than 12 months from the request) by the competent authority (federal authority in case of federal states) of the countries in which you have resided in the last 5 years, duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate.
- Medical Certification that the petitioner does not have contagious infectious diseases.
- Dominican visas and other countries valid or expired.
- Labor Certification, indicating your date of entry into the company, position you occupy in the company, including salary.
For the guarantor in the DR:
- Letter of Guarantee in Spanish, Duly Notarized and legalized in the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, this document must be presented by the applicant along with the other documents on the day of his interview at the Dominican consulate, it is essential that this letter of guarantee contain the following clause, so that it can be accepted by our diplomatic or consular mission:
WARRANTY CLAUSE -
"I guarantee that (name, nationality and passport) will not remain in the Dominican Republic longer than that granted by the Dirección General de Migración, nor will request residence or change of immigration status from Dominican territory, exclusively performing the activity for which the visa was granted. I am morally and financially responsible upon return from their country of origin, assuming to pay in favor of the Dominican State any expense that said person may incur during their stay in the country, or that arises as a consequence of their repatriation or deportation.”
Documents that demonstrate financial solvency: bank letter(s) from your bank account savings book, checking account or bank certificates, Labor Certification, Indicating its date entry to the company, position held in the company, salary, property titles of your residence, business, farm or land, or vehicle registration if he owns them.

Tourist Visa

Overview
Tourist visas are granted for tourist, cultural trips, attendance at congresses or conventions. They will be valid for 60 days and will be valid for a single entry or for multiple entries. The beneficiaries cannot perform any lucrative activities in Dominican territory.
* These requirements are for foreign nationals from: Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Cuba, the People's Republic of China, India and Pakistan, in addition to others expressly instructed by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (Art. 5.5 of the Consular Rules and Practices).

- Visa request letter to the signature of the beneficiary addressed to the corresponding consular office, containing name, nationality, place of residence and productive activity to which he is dedicated, as well as information on how he plans to settle in the country as a spouse or child (a) of a foreigner legal resident in the DR or of a Dominican, this letter is not legalized, nor is it apostilled.
- Photograph size 4 x 5 centimeters, front view and with a white background.
- Original passport with a minimum validity of one year and a half (18 months).
- Legible photocopy of the Residence Card. (If apply)
- Birth Certificate. It must be submitted in original duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate. If it is written in a language other than Spanish, it must be translated by a judicial interpreter, legalized by the Consulate of the Dominican Republic or apostilled, as appropriate. The original and the translation must be deposited, both legalized or apostilled.
- Certificate of No Criminal Record (Not required for minors) issued (less than 12 months after the request) by the competent authority (federal authority in the case of Federated States) of the countries in which you have resided in the last 5 years, duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate.
- Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificate of the children, according to the quality of the person requesting the dependency visa, duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate.
- Notarized Declaration that certifies the Free Union for a period of not less than two years, in the cases in which it corresponds.
- Medical Certification that the petitioner does not have contagious infectious diseases.
- Dominican visas and other countries valid or expired.
From the guarantor in the DR:
- Letter of Guarantee in Spanish duly notarized and legalized in the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, in which it indicates that it is morally and economically responsible in the territory of the spouse or partner/children. This document must be presented by the applicant together with the other documents on the day of the interview at the Dominican Consulate.
- Documents that demonstrate economic solvency: 1) bank letter(s) from your savings account, checking account or bank certificates; 2) Labor Certification (indicating your date of entry into the company, position you occupy in the company, salary); 3) Property titles of your residence, business, farm or land, or vehicle registration if applicable.
- Interview. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reserves the right to summon the guarantor, to complete an interview with an official from the consular office.

Overview

Documents Required
For the Applicant Abroad:
- Visa application letter (without notarization), addressed to the consul, signed by the company or institution to which the beneficiary belongs, containing the name of the beneficiary, nationality, place of residence, activity to which he is dedicated, means financial resources that he has and the purpose of traveling to the country. This document shall be processed by the company or institution to which the beneficiary belongs on the sheet stamped and sealed.
- Duly completed Visa form either electronically or by hand (block letters).
- Original passport with a minimum validity of six (06) months.
- Labor Certification, indicating your date of entry into the company, position in the company and salary.
- Immigration Status, these are: a legible photocopy of the National Document of Identity of the country of nationality and a legible photocopy of the Residence Card, if resides in a second country.
- Travel history, photocopies of Dominican visas and other countries.
- Certificate of No Criminal Record issued by the corresponding authorities of the last country in which the interested party was domiciled. Such document must be duly legalized or apostilled.
For the guarantor in the DR:
- Letter of Guarantee in Spanish, Duly Notarized and legalized in the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, this document must be presented by the applicant along with the other documents on the day of his interview at the Dominican consulate, it is essential that this letter of guarantee contain the following clause, so that it can be accepted by our diplomatic or consular mission:
WARRANTY CLAUSE -
"I guarantee that (name, nationality and passport) will not remain in the Dominican Republic longer than that granted by the Dirección General de Migración, nor will request residence or change of immigration status from Dominican territory, exclusively performing the activity for which the visa was granted. Residence Visa

Overview
They are granted for trips with the purpose of establishing themselves in the Dominican Republic permanently. They have an initial validity of 60 days and are valid for a single entry. Once in Dominican territory, the beneficiary of this visa must visit the Migration Office to formalize the procedures for their residence, meeting all requirements for this request. This visa being the first requirement. (Section VI, Article 48, Paragraph (a) Decree No. 631-11, Regulations for the application of the General Migration Law No. 285-04).

Student visa

Overview
Student visas are issued for the purpose of studying in the Dominican Republic to those who demonstrate their status as students, accepted by the Dominican educational institutions where they are going to study. This visa will be renewable each year and the interested parties must meet the requirements for this purpose.

Documents Required
All citizens of the world who wish to study in the Dominican Republic can apply for a Student Visa at the VFS Global office.

- Visa request letter addressed to the consular office by the interested party or his representative, requesting the student visa, indicating name and nationality.

- Financial support of who will cover the studies, can be demonstrated by one of the following:
- Parents or Guardians
- Document accrediting the scholarship from the institution that will pay for the studies. These documents must specify the amount of financial support or the scholarship granted, as well as the duration for which it has been provided. In both cases, this certificate must be written on a letterhead and certified by the corresponding institution, duly translated into Spanish, legalized or apostilled as appropriate.
- Medical Certification that the petitioner does not have contagious infectious diseases.
- Dominican visas and other countries valid or expired.
- Certification of acceptance by the University and/or Institution in the Dominican Republic that endorses any of these concepts:
- New admission letter
- Religious: Letter of request from the highest-ranking superior in your church, indicating that you are coming to pursue religious/theological studies within your recognized congregation in the country.
- Internship: Copy of the agreement between the foreign study center and the Dominican institution.

Overview
Business visas for work purposes are granted to those people who, due to the nature of their occupation, remain in the country for one year, without necessarily having to go abroad. They are generally granted to people who fulfill contracts for a specific period of time in public or private companies established in the country, and may be renewed for the same period of time, while the contract lasts in each case.

- Certification from the Ministry of Labor, indicating that the company is in the Integrated Labor Registration System (SIRLA), in addition to complying with the provisions of Article 135 of the Dominican Labor Code on nationalization of work. (Certification date no more than 3 months).
- Economic Solvency of the Company in the Dominican Republic.
For the guarantor in the DR:

Business Visa for Labor Purposes under the regime of Free Zone

Overview
Business Visa for Labor Purposes
Business visas for work purposes are granted to those people who, due to the nature of their occupation, remain in the country for one year, without necessarily having to go abroad. They are generally granted to people who fulfill contracts for a specific period of time in public or private companies established in the country and may be renewed for the same period of time, while the contract lasts in each case.
All citizens of the world who wish to do business for work purposes in the Dominican Republic can apply for a Business for Work Purposes visa at VFS Global as the official partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic.
Important notes:
- Completing all the requirements set forth above, does not mean an approval of the visa, but indicates that the consulate can accept your request, evaluate it and send it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will issue a final decision.
- The consular officer cannot decide whether or not to grant you the Multiple Business with Employment Purposes (NM1) visa until you formally apply and your application is evaluated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Therefore, we strongly advise you NOT to purchase non-refundable airline tickets or make other travel plans until you receive your visa.
- Beneficiaries of Multiple Business Visas for Labor Purposes (NM1), once in Dominican territory, have a period of 30 days to visit the office of Dirección General de Migración (DGM) to formalize the procedures for their residence or temporary permit, having to complete the additional requirements that it demands according to the Regulation of application of the General Law of Migration No. 285-04.
Resolution time
Within 1-10 business days from the date when the applications is submitted, depending on the level of urgency, nationality of the applicant, pending applications in queue and personnel availability

Documents Required
- Completed and duly typed or printed Visa Form legibly printed. Available at the headquarters of the consular offices or on the service portal.
- Visa request letter (without notarization), addressed to the consul, signed by the company or institution to which the beneficiary belongs, containing the name of the beneficiary, nationality, place of residence, activity to which it is dedicated, economic means with those who count and purpose of travel to the country. This document must be submitted by the company or institution to which the beneficiary belongs on a stamped and sealed sheet.
- One (1) photograph size 4 x 5 centimeters, front view and with a white background.
- Original passport with a minimum validity of one year and a half (18 months).
- Legible photocopy of the Residence Card. (If applicable).
- Birth Certificate. It must be presented in original duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate. If it is written in a language other than Spanish, must be translated by a judicial interpreter, legalized by the Consulate of the Dominican Republic or apostilled, as appropriate. The original must be deposited and the translation both legalized or apostilled.
- Certificate of No Criminal Records (Not required for minors) issued (less than 12 months after the request) by the competent authority (federal authority in the case of federal states) of the countries in which you have resided in the last 5 years, duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate.
- Medical Certification that the petitioner does not have infectious diseases.
- Copy of valid or expired Dominican visas and visas from other countries.
- Certification by a Multinational or Transnational Company: When they come to reside for one year or more: copy of your employment contract or agreement with the parent company and letter of transfer indicating the position that he will occupy and that his remunerations come from the parent company of the country of origin or provenance, these documents duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate. If they are written in a language other than Spanish, must be translated by a judicial interpreter, legalized by the Consulate of the Dominican Republic or apostilled, as appropriate. Must supply the original and the translation. (In case the original contract cannot be provided, they must convert a copy of it into an original, legalizing such copy in country of origin.
- When they come for less than a year to carry out technical work: letter of visa application by the parent company, indicating the work or technical work that will be carried out in Dominican territory, as well as the Dominican company where the said work. If they are written in a language other than Spanish, they must be translated by a judicial interpreter, legalized by the Consulate of the Republic Dominican or apostilled, as appropriate.
For the guarantor in the DR:
- Letter of Guarantee in Spanish, Duly Notarized and legalized in the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic, this document must be presented by the applicant along with the other documents on the day of his interview at the Dominican consulate, it is essential that this letter of guarantee contain the following clause, so that it can be accepted by our diplomatic or consular mission:
WARRANTY CLAUSE -
"I guarantee that (name, nationality and passport) will not remain in the Dominican Republic longer than that granted by the Dirección General de Migración, nor will request residence or change of immigration status from Dominican territory, exclusively performing the activity for which the visa was granted. I am morally and financially responsible upon return from their country of origin, assuming to pay in favor of the Dominican State any expense that said person may incur during their stay in the country, or that arises as a consequence of their repatriation or deportation.”
- Supporting Documents: evidence establishing your job qualifications (these documents must not be apostilled or legalized or translated).
- Interview. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reserves the right to summon the guarantor, to exhaust an interview with an official of the consular office.

Dependency Visa

Overview
Dependency visas are issued due to the family dependency of the users, of the beneficiaries of diplomatic, official, courtesy, business and student visas, subject to the type of visa granted to the main relative or the employer on whom they depend.
All foreign citizens legally residing in the Dominican Republic have the right to apply for dependency visas at the consular offices of the Dominican Republic.

Documents Required
Present yourself at the VFS Global Visa Application Centre or the headquarters of the consulate office of the Dominican Republic with the following documentation and requirements:
- Completed and duly completed Visa Form typed or legibly printed. Available at the headquarters of the consular offices or on the consular services portal www.consuladord.com to be filled out online.
- One (1) photograph size 4 x 5 centimeters, front view and with a white background.
- Original passport with a minimum validity equal to or greater than the duration of the requested visa.
- Marriage certificate or birth certificate of the children, depending on the quality of the person requesting the dependency visa.
- Copy of the Dominican Visa or Residence Card and copy of the passport of the person on whom the interested party depends.
- Medical Certificate presenting a diagnosis of the applicant's general state of health and indicating whether he or she suffers from any type of infectious disease. It must be issued by the corresponding health authorities of the last country in which the interested party was domiciled. In the event that the interested party resides in the Dominican Republic, said document must be issued by a medical laboratory, clinic or hospital registered by the Ministry of Public Health.
- Certificate of No Criminal Record issued by the corresponding authorities of the last country in which the interested party was domiciled. If the interested party has resided in the Dominican Republic, said document must be issued by the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic. Not required for minors.
- Authorization of the parents or guardian, when it is a minor and the person requesting it is not the father or the mother. In this case, the father or mother who is not in the Dominican Republic is required to express agreement that the other parent take the minor to live in the Dominican Republic.
- Legible photocopy of the National Identity Document of the country of nationality and legible photocopy of the Residence Card, if you reside in a second country.
- Documents that prove economic solvency (bank letter, work letter, property titles, etc.), of the person on whom you depend. If any document is issued in the Dominican Republic, it must be notarized and legalized by the Attorney General's Office.
- Photocopy of the current diplomatic, official, courtesy, business for employment (NM1) and student visa granted to your main relative or employer.
- Legible photocopy of previous Dominican visas or residence card (if it is renewal).
- Visa application letter addressed to the consular office by the person on whom the beneficiary depends, who must identify himself, present evidence that he has a Student or Business Visa for Labor Purposes for one year NML (in the latter case said communication must be signed by the body to which the beneficiary of the NML visa depends). Likewise, he must indicate if the person in favor of whom the visa is requested depends on him by family ties or by employment relationship.
For the guarantor in the DR:
