Overview
Schengen (short-term) visa issued by a Diplomatic Mission of Estonia or another Schengen state entitles its holder to stay in the territory of Estonia/Schengen area for the period indicated in the visa. Holder of a Schengen (short-term) visa can stay on the territory of Estonia, unless Estonia has been excluded from the territorial validity of the visa.

Visa Fees
Visa fee for the application processing is 90 EURO. Visa fee for children at the age of more than 6 years old and less than 12 years – 45 EURO. Citizens of the countries with which the EU signed the agreement on simplification of a visa regime pay 35 EURO.
If you submit the visa application form through the Visa Application Centre it is necessary to pay the service fee.
Consulate fee exempted:
- Children under the 6 years old;
- Family members of citizens of the European Union / European economic space according to the Directive 2004/38/EU.
- Persons who intend to attend meetings of the United Nations or its organizations, the Council of Europe, the European Union or the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to be held in Estonia.
- School children, students, post-graduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake trips for the purpose only of study or educational training.

Documents Required
- A filled in and signed application form. Individual application forms must be filled in and signed by the persons concerned, in case of minors signed by the parental authority or the legal guardian;
- Passport with copies of the first page and all previous Schengen visas (copies in original size), valid for at least three months longer than the validity of the visa, with at least two blank pages and not older than 10 years. Passport requires being in good condition, especially firs page. Any cuts, breaks, blots are not allowed. In case the passport has mentioned flaws it can’t be accepted.;
- photo (size 35x45mm);
- Medical insurance - original and copy stamped and signed by the insurance agent (minimum insurance coverage 30,000 Euro, valid for the entire requested period of stay and on the territory of all Schengen countries);
- Evidence of occupation or student status: at the company letterhead, mentioned name, position, an employment duration, monthly income.Proof of pension/school/university,or proof of self-employment. For students: letter form school/university mentioned.
- Proof of sufficient financial resources – a bank certificate signed, stamped, with all available balance in the account. 100€ for each day in Estonia.
- Printed reservation confirmation from the hotel mentioned the name guests.

Holders of service passports: Verbal Note from the MFA
- Holders of ordinary passports: Verbal Note or order of mission from the relevant ministry or authority(if an applicant has a Verbal Note from MFA -free of charge)

Business persons
- Invitation from a firm or authority to attend meetings, conferences or events connected with trade, industry or work indicating the purpose and duration of stay and whether the travel expenses and/or accommodation are covered by the inviting entity. Invitation or guarantee according to the national legislation of the Member State that processes the application.
- Letter from the employer or employment contract.
- For business owners and independent businesspersons: document proving the official registration of the company’s business activities. An invitation letter from the company concerned which has been validated by the competent local authorities, if required by the national legislation of the Member State.
- documents in relation to accommodation or proof of sufficient means to cover your accommodation;
- documents indicating that you possess sufficient means of subsistence both for the duration of the intended stay and for the return to your country of origin or residence (100€ for each day in Estonia);

Photo Specifications
Customers are requested to submit their application form in the new photo format, as explained below.
General
- The photograph for each visa customer must be an un-mounted, full face photo, as displayed above
- The photograph must have been taken within the last six months.
Photo Size
The photo for each visa customer submitted must measure:
- 35 mm * 45 mm with the head centered in the frame.
- The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure about 3 cm
Photo Appearance
- The photograph must be a full-face front view in which the visa customer is facing the camera directly.
- Face should cover about 70 – 80 percent of the photo area.
- The photograph MUST be in color and have only a white background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted.
- General, the customer's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears must be exposed.

Processing Time
Application for a Schengen (short-term) visa can be submitted within 6 months before the planned trip. Minimum visa processing time is 15 calendar days from the moment of receipt of documents at the Embassy. In individual cases the visa processing time can be extended up to 45 calendar days. It is recommended to submit the visa application not later than 15 calendar days, otherwise the Consulate Department has the right to not accept the documents. Holders of multiple entry Schengen (short-term) visas can apply for visa before their visa is expired. Visa applications of family members of EU citizens will be processed within the shortest period of time possible.

Documents Required
- A filled in and signed application form. Individual application forms must be filled in and signed by the persons concerned, in case of minors signed by the parental authority or the legal guardian;
- Passport with copies of the first page and all previous Schengen visas (copies in original size), valid for at least three months longer than the validity of the visa, with at least two blank pages and not older than 10 years. Passport requires being in good condition, especially firs page. Any cuts, breaks, blots are not allowed. In case the passport has mentioned flaws it can’t be accepted.;
- photo (size 35x45mm);
- Medical insurance - original and copy stamped and signed by the insurance agent (minimum insurance coverage 30,000 Euro, valid for the entire requested period of stay and on the territory of all Schengen countries);
- Evidence of occupation or student status: at the company letterhead, mentioned name, position, an employment duration, monthly income.Proof of pension/school/university,or proof of self-employment. For students: letter form school/university mentioned.
- Proof of sufficient financial resources – a bank certificate signed, stamped, with all available balance in the account. 100€ for each day in Estonia.
- Printed reservation confirmation from the hotel mentioned the name guests.

- visa or other entry permit for the country of final destination, tickets for the onward journey.
- documents in relation to accommodation or proof of sufficient means to cover your accommodation;
- documents indicating that you possess sufficient means of subsistence both for the duration of the intended stay and for the return to your country of origin or residence (100€ for each day in Estonia);
- information which enables to assess your intention to leave Schengen area before the expiry of the visa;

Photo Specifications
Customers are requested to submit their application form in the new photo format, as explained below.
General
- The photograph for each visa customer must be an un-mounted, full face photo, as displayed above
- The photograph must have been taken within the last six months.
Photo Size
The photo for each visa customer submitted must measure:
- 35 mm * 45 mm with the head centered in the frame.
- The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure about 3 cm
Photo Appearance
- The photograph must be a full-face front view in which the visa customer is facing the camera directly.
- Face should cover about 70 – 80 percent of the photo area.
- The photograph MUST be in color and have only a white background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted.
- General, the customer's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears must be exposed.

Processing Time
Application for a Schengen (short-term) visa can be submitted within 6 months before the planned trip. Minimum visa processing time is 15 calendar days from the moment of receipt of documents at the Embassy. In individual cases the visa processing time can be extended up to 45 calendar days. It is recommended to submit the visa application not later than 15 calendar days, otherwise the Consulate Department has the right to not accept the documents. Holders of multiple entry Schengen (short-term) visas can apply for visa before their visa is expired. Visa applications of family members of EU citizens will be processed within the shortest period of time possible.
