Temporary residence visa for more than 90 days (D visa)
Due to the many possible requirements for different purposes of stay in Hungary, please read the information on the website of the General Directorate of Migration Affairs of Hungary: http://bmbah.hu/index.php?lang=en
Basic information:
- Applications for “D” visas are submitted at the Visa Application Center in Almaty and in Astana personally by the applicant. It is not possible to submit documents through a representative. All applicants over the age of 6 must submit their fingerprints.
- The consular fee is 110 (one hundred and ten) euros and service fee is 40 euro for all applicants (payment is accepted in tenge at the current exchange rate at the time of submission!).
- An application for temporary residence is considered by the General Directorate for Migration Affairs of Hungary up to 30 working days (study visas up to 15 working days), if necessary, this period can be extended up to 60 calendar days.
- If the application is approved, the Consulate General of Hungary issues a visa "D" for a single entry with a stay of 30 days in Hungary, during this period the applicant must obtain a residence permit card at the regional office of the General Directorate of Migration in Hungary.
- Depending on the purpose of your stay, please print out the corresponding application form (in English or in Hungarian) from the website of the General Directorate of Migration Affairs of Hungary. Frequently used forms:

Key Documents:
- The application form for the Hungarian visa "D" (application form) is completed in printed letters without gaps in English and signed personally by the applicant (in two places);
- 1 actual color photo taken no more than 6 months ago (3.5 x 4.5 cm) on a white background;
- Passport, which must have at least 2 free pages, its date of issue must not exceed 10 years and the validity of which expires no earlier than 3 months after the expiration of the requested period of stay;
- A copy of the applicant's passport (pages with personal data and Schengen visas);
- A document confirming the purpose of the trip (guest - a certified letter of invitation, educational - an invitation/certificate from an educational institution, family reunification: certificate of marriage, birth, etc.);
- Documents confirming the place of residence in Hungary;
- Documents confirming the availability of means of subsistence for the requested period of residence (for example: a current bank statement showing the availability of funds and their movement for the last 3 months; income statements (eg scholarships); guarantee obligations);
- Medical insurance policy valid for the entire period of stay;
- Documents confirming departure from the country at the end of the residence permit (repurchased air ticket, or availability of financial resources)

Overview
You need to apply for the relevant visa type if you enter Hungary with one of the following purposes:

Visa Fees
Fees are due on the visa application when applying.
Short Term Entry Visa ( C)90 Euros (payment accepted in Tenge 48 420 KZT ) The following are exempt from visa fees upon customers:
- Children up to the age of 6
- Children from the age of 6 and below the age of 12 years shall pay fee of EUR 45 (payment accepted in Tenge 24 210 KZT ).
- The beneficiary of the visa facilitation bilateral agreement signed be the EU (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Albania, Serbia, Macedonian, Bosnian, Montenegro, Herzegovina, Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijan) shall pay EUR 35 (payment accepted in Tenge 18 830 KZT ).
- customers, who can confirm their Hungarian origin with documents and certificate issued by consular department of in according to the procedures established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- customers who has the rights to citizenship in Hungary through relevant documents which can confirm this right;
- According to the decision of the Consular Division in exceptional cases for foreigners wishing to apply documents for visa to Hungary for the purpose of carrying out social, cultural activities, promoting the policy of cooperation, as well as for the development of other areas of public Humanitarian activities;
- Family members of EU/EAA nationals (European Economic Area)

Documents Required
General requirements for customers:
- Filled and signed application form
- 1 photo, a color photo (3,5 x 4,5cm) taken according to ICAO recommendations.
- Valid travel document: issued passport within the last 10 years, with expiry date exceeding the expiry date of the requested visa by a minimum of three months, and containing at least two empty pages. The copy of first page of the passport and Schengen visas for the last 3 years If the customer has the citizenship of a third country, the proof of legal residence in the Republic of Kazakhstan is presented in accordance with the law (original and copy).

Employment information:
- evidence of employment, certificate of school attendance or proof of studying etc; for retired persons – proof of pension or other documents confirming employment. In letter from work should be showed the employee's position and salary for the last three months. For individual entrepreneurs - Registration certificate and last tax statement, bank statements.

Documents proving sufficient funds to support the stay in Hungary:
- Bank certificate of the availability of cash at the rate of 65-70 euros per day for one person. Bank statements should be for 3 month.
- A northerly established sponsorship letter confirms the coverage of funds by sponsor (together with confirmation of the availability of the sponsor's funds and a copy of the sponsor’s passport).
- Documents confirming marital status (copies of marriage certificate, certificate of birth of children e t.c.).
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: reservation of return travel ticket for airplane/ train ; driver's license, technical passport, green card, contract with carrier - if travelling by car
- Proof of the purpose of stay in Hungary:
Confirmed or prepaid hotel reservation with surname and names of all customers; a document from the accommodation provider or any other relevant document indicating that accommodation is provided in accordance with the legislation of the Schengen member state - Medical insurance: insurance must cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital, treatment or death during the stay; must be valid for all Schengen States and cover the entire period of intended stay or transit; minimum coverage must be 30,000 €;

For minors:
- Copy of certificate of birth
- Copy and original of the notarized agreement to leave the parents, in case one or both parents do not accompany the child
- Copies of passports of both of parents
- Copy of the accompanying person's valid visa in the provided cases
- Financial guarantees of one of the parents or legal guardians (sponsorship letter).
Please note:
Visa Facilitation for family members of EU/EEA and Swiss Nationals
If you are a family member of an EU/EEA citizen (except Hungary) or Swiss citizen, your application will be processed quickly and free of charge, however, the service fee is applicable if the application is made at a visa service centre.
Family members under this category are:
- Spouse/partner/common law spouse
- The direct descendants (children) who are under the age of 21 or are dependents, and those of the spouse or partner.
- The dependent direct relatives in the ascending line (e.g. parents) and those of the spouse or partner.
Non-EU family member must include the following documents with their visa application:
- application form
- 1 passport sized photograph
- a valid passport and a hard copy of it
- a document proving family ties with the EU citizen (e.g. marriage certificate, birth certificate etc.) and dependency (if required)
- proof that the EU citizen is already living in the host country (if they are joining them)
- a declaration that the couple will travel together (if the family member will be accompanying the EU citizen)

Photo Specifications
Customers are requested to submit their Application form in the new photo format, as explained below.
General
- The photograph for each visa customer must be an un-mounted, full face photo, as displayed above
- The photograph must have been taken within the last six months.
Photo Size
The photo for each visa customer submitted must measure:
- 35 mm * 45 mm with the head centered in the frame.
- The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure about 3 cms
Photo Appearance
- The photograph must be a full-face front view in which the visa customer is facing the camera directly.
- Face should cover about 70 – 80 percent of the photo area.
- The photograph MUST be in color and have only a white background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted.
- General, the customer's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears be exposed.

Processing Time
Applications for short-term visas are usually processed within 15 days of receipt of documents by the Consulate General of Hungary in Almaty, if all necessary documents are in order (not including the day of submission at the Visa Center). However, in some cases, consideration of documents may take significantly longer.
The Consulate General of Hungary in Almaty may request additional documents to make a decision if necessary. Please note that the provision of all the above documents does not guarantee the issuance of a visa.

If the invitation is not written in English, Hungarian or Russian, it is translated into English.

- Children from the age of 6 and below the age of 12 years shall pay fee of EUR 45 (payment accepted in Tenge 24 210 KZT ).
- The beneficiary of the visa facilitation bilateral agreement signed be the EU (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Albania, Serbia, Macedonian, Bosnian, Montenegro, Herzegovina, Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijan) shall pay EUR 35 (payment accepted in Tenge 18 830 KZT ).

- Valid travel document: issued passport within the last 10 years, with expiry date exceeding the expiry date of the requested visa by a minimum of three months, and containing at least two empty pages. The copy of first page of the passport and Schengen visas for the last 3 years If the customer has the citizenship of a third country, the proof of legal residence in the Republic of Kazakhstan is presented in accordance with the law (original and copy).

- Conformation/referral from local medical facility, which shows need of medical care and also conformation from Hungarian clinic
- Confirmation of accommodation – in case if accommodation doesn’t showed in confirmation from medical organization
- Confirmation of the availability of funds to finance treatment, payment or prepayments.

- Confirmation from medical organization of need of medical care
- Confirmation of accommodation – in case if accommodation doesn’t showed in confirmation from medical organization
- In case if patient and accompanying person will apply separate – copy of passport and visa of patient
- Medical insurance: insurance must cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital, treatment or death during the stay; must be valid for all Schengen States and cover the entire period of intended stay or transit; minimum coverage must be 30,000 €;
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: reservation of return travel ticket for airplane/ train.

- Copy and original of the notarized agreement to leave the parents, in case one or both parents do not accompany the child
- Copies of passports of both of parents

Visa Facilitation for family members of EU/EEA and Swiss Nationals
If you are a family member of an EU/EEA citizen (except Hungary) or Swiss citizen, your application will be processed quickly and free of charge, however, the service fee is applicable if the application is made at a visa service centre.
Family members under this category are:
- Spouse/partner/common law spouse
- The direct descendants (children) who are under the age of 21 or are dependents, and those of the spouse or partner.

Photo Specifications
Customers are requested to submit their Application form in the new photo format, as explained below.
General
- The photograph for each visa customer must be an un-mounted, full face photo, as displayed above
- The photograph must have been taken within the last six months.
Photo Size
The photo for each visa customer submitted must measure:
- 35 mm * 45 mm with the head centered in the frame.
- The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure about 3 cms
Photo Appearance
- The photograph must be a full-face front view in which the visa customer is facing the camera directly.
- Face should cover about 70 – 80 percent of the photo area.
- The photograph MUST be in color and have only a white background. Photos with dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds will not be accepted.
- General, the customer's head, including both face and hair, should be shown from the crown of the head to the tip of the chin on top and bottom and from hairline side-to-side. It is preferable that ears be exposed.

Processing Time
Applications for short-term visas are usually processed within 15 days of receipt of documents by the Consulate General of Hungary in Almaty, if all necessary documents are in order (not including the day of submission at the Visa Center). However, in some cases, consideration of documents may take significantly longer.

- Bank certificate of the availability of cash at the rate of 65-70 euros per day for one person. Bank statements should be for 3 month.
- A northerly established sponsorship letter confirms the coverage of funds by sponsor (together with confirmation of the availability of the sponsor's funds and a copy of the sponsor’s passport).
- Documents confirming marital status (copies of marriage certificate, certificate of birth of children e t.c.).
- Means of transportation and intention to return to the country of residence: reservation of return travel ticket for airplane/ train ; driver's license, technical passport, green card, contract with carrier - if travelling by car
- Proof of the purpose of stay in Hungary:
Confirmed or prepaid hotel reservation with surname and names of all applicants; a document from the accommodation provider or any other relevant document indicating that accommodation is provided in accordance with the legislation of the Schengen member state - Medical insurance: insurance must cover any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, emergency hospital, treatment or death during the stay; must be valid for all Schengen States and cover the entire period of intended stay or transit; minimum coverage must be 30,000 €;
