Overview

Schengen information

Schengen States issue uniform visas for short stay visit not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period. The Schengen visa may be issued for a single entry (as a rule for the 1st time visitors of the Schengen area), for two entries, or as a multiple entry visa in case the applicant proves the need or justifies the intention to travel frequently as well as proves his/her integrity and reliability, in particular the lawful use of previous Schengen visas, etc. (as per Schengen Visa Code, Article 24).

If your travel destination is only Hungary – or in case of a Saudi resident Lithuania or -, the Hungarian Embassy in Riyadh will deal with your application. If your travel destination includes more than one Schengen Member State, your application must be dealt by the Embassy/Consulate of your main destination

The following criteria may help you to decide whether you should submit your visa application with the Hungarian Visa Application Centre.

• Hungary - or in case of a Saudi resident also Lithuania - is the sole destination of your visit(s);
• Your visit to Schengen States includes more than one destination and Hungary - or in case a Saudi resident also Lithuania - is the main destination of the visit(s) in terms of the length or purpose of stay;
• If you cannot determine which is your main destination, but Hungary or Lithuania is the first Schengen State you wish to enter.

Please note that the Embassy of Hungary in Riyadh issues visas only for residents in its territory of responsibility – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain, Republic of Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman.

Tourist Visa

Applicable for solely tourism purposes. If tourism is joined with another purpose such as a business meeting, private visit or visit of relatives, etc., such other purpose should be declared as the main one.

Family members of the EEA Member States traveling together with or to the family member of an EEA Member States are exempt from the visa fee and submission of part of supporting documents enlisted on the checklists to be downloaded for the application.

Visa Fees

Please Note:

• The Schengen visa fee amounts to 35 EUROs (equivalent in Riyals) SAR 144 for Countries with a visa facilitation agreement with the European Union, for nationals of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine, Republic of Yugoslavia, Azerbaijan.
• The applicable visa fee in SAR is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change without notice due to sudden foreign exchange fluctuations
• The abovementioned Visa Fee is to be paid in Cash/card at the Visa Application Center
• The visa fee is non-refundable in case the visa is refused
• Family members of Hungarian citizens are not considered as C-EGT applicants anymore and they have to pay for the normal visa fee.

• Family members of a citizen of the European Economic Area (except those with Hungarian citizenship), notwithstanding their nationality are exempt from the fee (Children - under the age of 18/Spouse of EU Citizen/Parents of children - under the age of 18 - if the child is an EEA citizen)
• Persons under 6 years of age are exempt from the fee
• Holders of diplomatic and special passports

Applicants applying at the Hungary Visa Application Centre shall be levied a service charge of SAR 128.02 (VAT Included) payable in Cash/Card.

The photograph for visa must satisfy the requirements listed above. If those are not met, the applicant will be asked to present new photo.

Processing Time

The processing time for assessment of a Schengen Visa depends on the applicant's nationality and may take up to 20 calendar days after the application is registered with the Embassy of Hungary in Riyadh. Applications should be made as early as possible (within 6 months ahead of departure).

Kindly note that if you are applying from VFS in Jeddah/Dammam, VFS courier times (Visa Center to Embassy and return) can take up to 2 working days on top of the 20 calendar days usual Schengen consultation time.

Please Note: The processing time is an indication only. Applicants can always be requested by the Embassy to appear for an interview. The Embassy reserves the right to ask for further documentation.

Important information: Please note that, as per the instructions from the Embassy, applicants are not allowed to submit any passport withdrawal request during an ongoing visa application process. Withdrawal requests will not be addressed unless there is written proof of medical emergency.

Overview

Transit Visa

Allows you to transit through the international zone of the International Airport with no access to the Schengen space, before flying back to your final destination

The length of the visa validity shall correspond to the time necessary for the purpose of the transit.

Business Visa or Visa for the attendance at a Conference

Applicable for the purpose of attending a business meeting, or a conference or a short training organized by a company in Hungary or in Lithuania.

Applicants shall be levied a service charge of SAR 128.02 /- per application (VAT Included)

Service Charge will have to be paid at Visa application center.

All payments will be collected in local currency (Cash or Card) for Saudi Arabia.

Visa for the visit friends or family, or attending at a sport event

In case of staying with friends or family member in Hungary, Lithuania, the applicant has to submit an invitation letter with an attached copy of the Hungarian/Lithuanian/Slovakian residence permit of the friend or family member justifying the purpose of the visit.

The travelers with the purpose of sport activity have to submit an invitation letter or the acceptance letter of the Hungarian/Lithuanian Sport Club or Sport Facility, or a proof about the registration at the sport event.

• Hungary - or in case of a Saudi resident also Lithuania- is the sole destination of your visit(s);
• Your visit to Schengen States includes more than one destination and Hungary - or in case a Saudi resident also Lithuania- is the main destination of the visit(s) in terms of the length or purpose of stay;
• If you cannot determine which is your main destination, but Hungary or Lithuania is the first Schengen State you wish to enter.

Please note that the Embassy of Hungary in Riyadh issues visas only for residents in its territory of responsibility – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain, Republic of Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman.

Visa for the purpose of Medical Treatment

Applicable for solely medical treatments in Hungary/Lithuania not longer than 90 days. In case of wellness programs tourism purpose should be declared.

The accompanying persons have to apply for a tourist visa.

Applicants shall be levied a service charge of SAR 128.02 /- per application (VAT Included)

Service Charge will have to be paid at Visa application center.

All payments will be collected in local currency (Cash or Card) for Saudi Arabia.

The applicable visa fee in local currency is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change without notice.

The visa fee is non-refundable

Please Note:

• The Schengen visa fee amounts to 35 EUROs (equivalent in Riyals) SAR 144 for Countries with a visa facilitation agreement with the European Union, for nationals of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine, Republic of Yugoslavia, Azerbaijan.
• The applicable visa fee in SAR is as per the current exchange rate. It is subject to change without notice due to sudden foreign exchange fluctuations
• The abovementioned Visa Fee is to be paid in Cash/card at the Visa Application Center
• The visa fee is non-refundable in case the visa is refused
• Family members of Hungarian citizens are not considered as C-EGT applicants anymore and they have to pay for the normal visa fee.

VISA Fee Exemption:

• Family members of a citizen of the European Economic Area (except those with Hungarian citizenship), notwithstanding their nationality are exempt from the fee (Children - under the age of 18/Spouse of EU Citizen/Parents of children - under the age of 18 - if the child is an EEA citizen)
• Persons under 6 years of age are exempt from the fee
• Holders of diplomatic and special passports

Applicants applying at the Hungary Visa Application Centre shall be levied a service charge of SAR 128.02 (VAT Included) payable in Cash/Card.

Photo Specifications

• colored photo taken against a white background
• not older than 3 months
• full-face
• face-cover is not permitted for Ladies, head cover is permitted only for religious reasons, provided that all facial details are still clearly visible and the head-dress does not cast any shadow over the face
• head cover is not permitted for Gentleman
• glasses are not permitted
• image must not have been altered
• image must be sharp, clear and good quality

The photograph for visa must satisfy the requirements listed above. If those are not met, the applicant will be asked to present new photo.

Processing Time

The processing time for assessment of a Schengen Visa depends on the applicant's nationality and may take up to 20 calendar days after the application is registered with the Embassy of Hungary in Riyadh. Applications should be made as early as possible (within 6 months ahead of departure).

Kindly note that if you are applying from VFS in Jeddah/Dammam, VFS courier times (Visa Center to Embassy and return) can take up to 2 working days on top of the 20 calendar days usual Schengen consultation time.

Please Note: The processing time is an indication only. Applicants can always be requested by the Embassy to appear for an interview. The Embassy reserves the right to ask for further documentation.

Important information: Please note that, as per the instructions from the Embassy, applicants are not allowed to submit any passport withdrawal request during an ongoing visa application process. Withdrawal requests will not be addressed unless there is written proof of medical emergency.
