Visitor's Visa
The nationals of Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and others do not need a visa to enter Norway and the rest of the Schengen area. You can stay in Norway and other Schengen countries for up to 90 days in a 180-day period if you apply for a Schengen visa.
The nationals of those countries which do require a visa (like the citizens of Bolivia, Ecuador, Cuba, China, Russia, etc.) who have legal residence in Argentina, Paraguay or Uruguay must submit their visa application at the offices of VFS Global in Buenos Aires. The application will be assessed by the Norwegian Consulate General in New York.

Residence Permit
Holders of Argentine, Bolivian, Paraguayan, Uruguayan passports, among others, must apply for a residence permit if they wish to work, study or join a close family member who already resides in Norway

Visitors Visa For Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland

Overview
With a short term visa you can stay in Norway and other countries of the Schengen area for up to 90 days during a period of 180 days.
The Royal Embassy also represents Denmark, Sweden and Iceland for short term visa applications.
Make the request in good time, no later than 15 days before the scheduled date of departure. We accept applications up to 6 months before departure or 9 month in case of seafarers.
- We recommend that you wait for the ticket to be purchased until you have confirmation that your visa has been granted.
- Before attending for the delivery of all necessary documentation, you will need to register your order via the internet. When you attend, your fingerprints will be collected.
- You may be asked to provide additional documentation or may be called for an interview.
Only those who have a residence permit in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay can apply for a visitor visa.

Visa Fees
Before you show up to deliver the passport and its documentation, you must register the application in the Application Portal. If it is the first time you place an application, you must do the user registration.
Register the application in Søknadsportalen (application portal)
You will receive a confirmation via e-mail when the portal registration is done. A card will be attached to the e-mail. This letter confirms that you filled out the application form and paid the fee. You will have to print the letter and have it delivered with the other documents.

Please note that the fee is payable at the time of online registration of the portal.
SERVICE FEE
On the day of your appointment at the application center, you will have to pay a VFS Service fee.
Applicants requiring an entry visa: EUR 75
Applicants who do not need an entry visa: EUR 26
This cost is additional to the return shipment of your documents to the location of your choice, once the process is completed.
COURIER RE-SUBMISSION:
The applicant may request to have the passport returned from the embassy while the application is being processed. The applicant may later resubmit the passport for issuance of visa. There is no additional fee for this service.

Documents Required
Visitor visa
With a visitor visa you can stay in Norway and other countries of the Schengen area for up to 90 days for a period of 180 days.
Argentinian citizens with a valid passport do not need a visa to visit Norway or the Schengen area as a tourist.
For citizens of other countries, the following is valid:
- EU / EEA and visa-free citizens do not need a visitor visa to visit Norway or other countries in the Schengen area.
- Citizens of other countries need a visitor visa.
Certain rules apply to travel for those who do not require a visitor visa. For more information, please visit the UDI website.
Norway is responsible for the processing of visitor visas for Denmark, Sweden, and Iceland. If you are applying for a visitor visa for one of these countries, you should follow the same procedure as for Norway.

When you come to us, you must bring the following:
- Letter proving the registration of the application in the Application Portal (order portal)
- Check list and the documents in this
- Passport (this must be valid for at least 3 months after the expected date of departure from the Schengen area)
- Photo (must comply with international standards). Please check the Photo Specifications section for more information.
- Travel health insurance
- The minimum coverage should be € 30,000 and you will have to cover any expenses for returning home for medical reasons, emergency medical care and / or emergency hospital treatment or death.
- Must be valid in all member countries of the Schengen area
- Must cover the length of stay planned
- It should be done in the country where you live. When this is not possible, insurance can be purchased in another country.

Processing Time
The processing time is a minimum of 2 weeks.
However, processing time depends on each individual case and can take longer should the Consulate require additional documents or verifications. Applicants are advised to apply several weeks before their intended journey, but not more than 90 days in advance.

Residence Permit For Norway

Overview
Check what type of residence permit you need, for example: a residence permit to work, study, family immigration or to be au pair. You will find information on the different types of residence permits, requirements and procedures on the UDI website.
To apply for a residence visa for Norway, you must be an Argentinian citizen or have a residence visa in Argentina. You must have lived in Argentina for more than 6 months to apply for a residence visa for Norway.

Photo Specifications
Note: We regret we cannot accept photographs that do not meet these requirements
Please provide one recent photograph (not more than 1 month old) of yourself. Please note there is no facility to take photographs at the visa application centre. The photograph should be in colour and:
- Taken against a light background (white or off-white) so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background.
- Clear quality and with the face in focus.
- Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
- Full face, non-smiling [without sunglasses, a hat/cap or other head covering, unless the applicant wears such items because of their religious belief or ethnic background]
- Please stick the photograph on the Visa Application Form.
Note: Please follow these instructions carefully. If photographs presented do not meet these requirements your application will be considered incomplete.

Processing Time
Applications for residence permits are processed by the UDI. You can find information about the processing time of the process on the UDI website.You will be notified by email once your visa application is processed.
If the visa is approved you will receive a UDI document that you must print and take on the trip to Norway. If you are a citizen who requires entry visa for the Schengen area, you will receive a visa in your passport.
When you cross the border into the Schengen area, you
- Your passport with the visa sticker (if you need a visa)
- Copy of residence permit
- Relevant documentation justifying the reason for the trip
When you decide when you want to come to Norway, you should arrange an interview with the police. The interview should be made as soon as possible after the date of your arrival in Norway.
The police will take a picture of you and proceed to apply for a residence card. The residence card is an identity card with your photo and confirms that you have a residence permit in Norway. With this residence card, you can also visit other Schengen countries. More information on the regulations on this subject is available on the UDI website.
If the visa is denied, you will receive a letter with information of the reason.
You can appeal the decision within 3 weeks after receiving the letter.
