Short Term Visa
If you are planning a short visit to Slovenia, you may need to apply for a Schengen visa. Slovenia is one of the 29 European countries forming the Schengen Area which have no border controls between them. These countries also issue a uniform visa, the Schengen visa for the stay up to 90 days within 180 days. Travelers will be able to submit their applications up to six months in advance of their planned trip and no later than 15 days before the trip.

Overview
It is applicable in case you are travelling for tourism. This visa is given for a period of the stay up to 90 days within 180 days. Travellers will be able to submit their applications up to six months in advance of their planned trip and no later than 15 days before the trip;

You have the right to request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia access to, and the rectification or erasure of, personal data or a restriction on the processing of data concerning you, or to object to such processing, including the right to data portability, pursuant to Articles 15 through 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
You have the right to lodge a complaint concerning the processing of personal data with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, located at Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The above information does not apply to personal data processed by VFS Global concerning the payment of consular and service fees or to personal data processed by VFS Global in relation to additional commercial services.

- non-EU family members of EU or Swiss citizens covered by the Directive 2004/38/EC and UK nationals who are beneficiaries of the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement and seek to join the UK national Withdrawal Agreement beneficiary in the host State

Checklist for Individual Tourism -
Photo Specifications
All photos must meet the requirements listed below. If these requirements have not been met, the applicant will have to deliver a new photo that meets the requirements. The photo requirements are the same for children as for adults.
The Photo shall:
- be in sharp focus, clear and with good contrasts
- be printed on quality photo paper with high solution
- be in colours with a light background
- be 35-45 mm in width
- maximum 6 months old, resemble the applicant
- full-face, facing the camera directly, eyes looking straight at the camera
- show the whole head and the top of the shoulders. The face shall occupy 70-80 % of the picture
- show open eyes that are clearly visible. Hair shall not cover the eyes
Regarding glasses:
Glasses are allowed as long as the eyes are clearly visible.
- the glasses cannot be coloured
- the rim must not cover any part of the eyes
- there cannot be reflection in the glasses
Regarding head-dress:
Religious head-dresses are allowed provided that all details of the face are clearly shown.
- Chin, forehead and both cheeks shall all be clearly visible
- Shadows in the face due to the head-dress are not allowed

Fingerprint specifications
Fingerprints are collected from all applicants, except for the following: children up to 12 years of age, applicants who have submitted fingerprints in the last five years (59 months) for a short-stay visa (C Type), applicants for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible, heads of state and government and their delegations if invited for an official visit, and members of royal families if invited for an official visit.

Processing Time
Normally, processing time for visa applications is 15 calendar days, please be noticed that the applications are submitted in Changsha/Chengdu/Chongqing/Fuzhou/Guangzhou/Hangzhou/Jinan/Kunming/Nanjing/Shanghai/Shenyang/Shenzhen/Xi’an/Wuhan Visa Application Centre will be transited to Beijing Slovenia Embassy and will counting from all requested documents submitted at Embassy except the delivery time from these VACs to Embassy. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of this application is required, for example, when you are requested to come to an interview or submit additional documentation.

Photo Specifications
1 Photograph submitted with the application for a visa should comply with the following specifications:
- Must be an up-to-date photograph (dated max 3 month old)
- Must be a color photograph printed on normal photographic paper
- Should be sized between 3,5 cm x 4,5 cm
- Full face taken straight forward 30 mm from point of the chin to top of hair
- Taken against a white background
- Without sunglasses
- Without hat or other head covering unless you wear this for religious reasons
- Spectacles should not have toned or reflecting glasses
- The frame of the spectacles may not cover the eyes

Please note that the Visa application Centre may not accept photographs that do not meet these specifications. In case photos are not meeting the requirements mentioned above Submission Officer might ask to provide updated / recent photos.

Fingerprints are collected from all applicants, except for the following: children up to 12 years of age, applicants who have submitted fingerprints in the last five years (59 months) for a short-stay visa (C Type), applicants for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible, heads of state and government and their delegations if invited for an official visit, and members of royal families if invited for an official visit.

The legal basis for processing personal data is provided by Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas (Visa Code) and Regulation (EC) No 767/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008 concerning the Visa Information System (VIS) and the exchange of data between Member States on short-stay visas (VIS Regulation).
You have the right to request from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia access to, and the rectification or erasure of, personal data or a restriction on the processing of data concerning you, or to object to such processing, including the right to data portability, pursuant to Articles 15 through 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
You have the right to lodge a complaint concerning the processing of personal data with the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, located at Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The above information does not apply to personal data processed by VFS Global concerning the payment of consular and service fees or to personal data processed by VFS Global in relation to additional commercial services.

Exemption of Visa Fee:

- representatives of non-profit organisations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organised by non-profit organisations
- non-EU family members of EU or Swiss citizens covered by the Directive 2004/38/EC and UK nationals who are beneficiaries of the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement and seek to join the UK national Withdrawal Agreement beneficiary in the host State

Photo Specifications
All photos must meet the requirements listed below. If these requirements have not been met, the applicant will have to deliver a new photo that meets the requirements. The photo requirements are the same for children as for adults.
The Photo shall:
- be in sharp focus, clear and with good contrasts
- be printed on quality photo paper with high solution
- be in colours with a light background
- be 35-45 mm in width
- maximum 6 months old, resemble the applicant
- full-face, facing the camera directly, eyes looking straight at the camera
- show the whole head and the top of the shoulders. The face shall occupy 70-80 % of the picture
- show open eyes that are clearly visible. Hair shall not cover the eyes
Regarding glasses:
Glasses are allowed as long as the eyes are clearly visible.
- the glasses cannot be coloured
- the rim must not cover any part of the eyes
- there cannot be reflection in the glasses
Regarding head-dress:
Religious head-dresses are allowed provided that all details of the face are clearly shown.
- Chin, forehead and both cheeks shall all be clearly visible
- Shadows in the face due to the head-dress are not allowed

Fingerprint specifications
Fingerprints are collected from all applicants, except for the following: children up to 12 years of age, applicants who have submitted fingerprints in the last five years (59 months) for a short-stay visa (C Type), applicants for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible, heads of state and government and their delegations if invited for an official visit, and members of royal families if invited for an official visit.

Processing Time
Normally, processing time for visa applications is 15 calendar days, please be noticed that the applications are submitted in Changsha/Chengdu/Chongqing/Fuzhou/Guangzhou/Hangzhou/Jinan/Kunming/Nanjing/Shanghai/Shenyang/Shenzhen/Xi’an/Wuhan Visa Application Centre will be transited to Beijing Slovenia Embassy and will counting from all requested documents submitted at Embassy except the delivery time from these VACs to Embassy. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of this application is required, for example, when you are requested to come to an interview or submit additional documentation.
