Visa Information
VISA TYPES
You must apply for a « short term visa » for Sweden (and eventually for other Schengen states) if you plan:
Either a stay of 90 days maximum or several stays that, when cumulated, should be maximum of 90 days per period of 180 days.
A visa application should be submitted at least 16 calendar days before the intended visit and cannot be submitted earlier than six months before the intended date of arrival in the Schengen Area.
Select the visa type that is right for you to see important information on visa fees, documents required, forms, photo specifications and processing times.
SHORT STAY VISA SWEDEN
All citizens of Morocco are required to apply for a visa before entering Sweden and/or other countries under the Schengen agreement. Before applying, please ensure you understand your particular ‘purpose of visit’. Schengen visas must be applied for at the respective Embassy/Consulate of the country of your main destination. Your main destination will be the Schengen country where your duration of stay exceeds all others. Due to this, when traveling to more than one Schengen country, you should submit your application to the Embassy/Consulate representing the country of your main destination. In case of equal stay, you have to submit your application to the mission of the Schengen country representing your first port of entry.
See more info about Schengen visas at the website of Embassy of Sweden in Morocco.
The Visa Application Centre accepts applications for short stay Schengen visas only (not exceeding 90 days during 180 days period). Applicants need to visit the Visa Application Centre in person. All applicants applying for a Schengen visa must submit biometric data - ten fingerprints and a photo. The biometric data will be stored in the Visa Information System (VIS), which is an IT system that allows data exchange between the Schengen States.
Who can submit visa application in the Visa Application Centre?
The Visa Application Centre in Morocco accepts Schengen visa applications from legal residents of Morocco only (Moroccan citizens, Moroccan registration certificate /residential permit /long stay visa holders).
Processing terms
We regret the long waiting times to apply for a visa to certain major destination countries in the Schengen area. However, applying for a Schengen visa at an embassy of a country that is not the main destination of the trip is not the solution.
-If there is any doubt that Sweden is not the main destination, the visa application may be refused by our services.
With whatever embassy or consulate you file your next visa application, failing to have complied with the above point, it risks being refused.
(See article 5 in the Schengen Regulation )
Visa application can be submitted six months before the trip. Please note that all applications are processed individually. The Embassy may request further documentation, information which can prolong the processing time.
The Visa Application Centre takes visa applications with an appointment, to book an appointment please click here.
