Security Notice for Applicants Visiting VFS Portugal Visa Application Centers

Please note that we do not permit friends, relatives or business contacts to accompany visa applicants into the centre, unless special needs apply.

Due to security reasons the following items will not be permitted inside the Application Centers or stored in the premises:

• All battery operated or electronic gadgets such as mobile phone in switched on mode, digital diaries, digital watches, pagers, cameras,: audio/video cassettes, compact discs, MP3's, floppies, laptops, palmtops, or portable music players.
• Any food items
• Sealed envelopes or packages.
• Cigarettes/cigars/ matchboxes/ lighters
• Any sharp objects such as scissors, knives or nail filers.
• Weapons or explosive material of any kind.

The list provided above is not finite. Other items may be prohibited, such as big handbags, based on the Security Staff's discretion.

Articles Allowed: Folders containing your passport (s) and visa application related papers would be permitted inside our Visa Application Centre after a proper security check. Any objectionable items as enumerated above will not be permitted inside the VACs and we take no responsibility for its custody. Please also note that we do not permit friends, relatives or business contacts to accompany visa applicants into the centre, unless special needs apply (e.g. to accompany hearing-impaired, physically challenged, elderly applicants or applicants requiring interpreters).

Please Note: There is no facility at the Visa Application Center to store prohibited items. Applicants are requested to make alternate arrangements to keep the same before entry into the centre.
