SHORT STAY VISA C
- A Schengen visa normally allows you to travel within the entire Schengen area.
- The Schengen Member States are: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
- A Schengen visa might allow you a duration of no more than 90 days (short stay) in any 180 day period.
- The Embassy of Belgium in Manila shall be competent for examining and deciding on your visa application if:
- Belgium constitutes the sole destination of the visit(s).
- if the visit includes more than one destination, Belgium constitutes the main destination of the visit(s) in terms of the length or purpose of stay.
- if no main destination can be determined, Belgium constitutes the first point of entry of the territory of the Member States.
Guarantees for return (assessment of migration risk): The applicant is requested to provide as much information as possible to document his/her family background, professional and socio-economic status, ownership of land or real estate (for instance : proof of family bonds with his/her country of origin, proof of regular income and stable source of revenues from the applicant and/or his/her partner, proof of property, etc.)
This information is essential to correctly judge the intention of the applicant to leave the Schengen area before the expiry of his/her visa.
Tourist

Overview
This visa is solely for the purpose of leisure travel including vacationing, cruising, sightseeing and other recreational activities. If during any portion of their visit to Belgium the applicant intends to engage in business, or official duties he/she must refer to other relevant visa categories.
In case you have already submitted your fingerprints for a previous Schengen visa application in the last 59 months, you are not required to submit them again.
However, If you are uncertain whether your fingerprints have been captured for a Schengen visa within the last 59 months, you are advised to appear in person.
Kindly note that, if it would appear that the fingerprints prove not to be present in the VIS system, you will be asked to reappear in person for new biometric data collection. To avoid this possible complication, you have the right to ask for your fingerprints to be taken again.

Applicants traveling to Belgium to visit family or friends including girlfriend/boyfriend may apply for this visa.
In case you have already submitted your fingerprints for a previous Schengen visa application in the last 59 months, you are not required to submit them again.

Business, Cultural or Sport event, official Purpose

Overview
A Business visa is required if during any portion of the visit applicant intends to conduct business or commercial activities. e.g.; Meetings, Conference, Trainings, Trade Fairs, etc; such visas can only be issued to travellers not being paid for work by an entity within Belgium and its representing countries. If the applicant intends to undertake paid work in Belgium and its representing countries, he/she will need to obtain a work visa

Seafarers

Overview
Only seamen who are nationals from a country which is required to have a valid visa to enter the Schengen space need to apply for a seamen transit visa and if they intend to join a ship that is (or will be) in a Schengen port, land with the aim of joining another ship that is arriving (or will arrive) in a Schengen port, or land due to sickness, repatriation, holiday and so on.

- The Visa D is applicable if you wish to remain a long time (more than 90 days) or to establish yourself definitively in Belgium.
- The Visa D also allows you to travel within the entire Schengen area.
- As of March 2015, the processing of some visa D applications will require payment of a contribution to be deposited directly in a bank account in Belgium prior to the submission of the application file. Carefully read the information HERE.

NOTE: Applicants should bring colored photocopies of all their supporting documents as per the stated requirements in a standard format.

Photo Specifications
Applicants, submit your Application form with the new photo format, as explained below:
General
- The photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).
- Use coloured photo with plain white background.
- The photo must be no more than 6-months old (not used in any visas).
- Not tilted picture (portrait style) showing both edges of face clearly (hair behind ears).
- Close up of the head and top of the shoulders so that the face takes up 70–80% of the photograph.
- Photo in sharp focus and clear.
- The photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).

Processing Time
The maximum legal processing time for a long stay visa D is 6, 9 or 12 months from the date the application is not only submitted but also completed.

Directive 2004/38/EC on the right of citizens of the Union and their family members to move and reside freely within the territory of the Member States
These rules don’t apply for Belgian citizens living/residing in Belgium if they never lived for minimum 3 months in another country of the EU before returning to Belgium.

Processing Time
The legal processing time for a Schengen visa is 15 calendar days.

Accredited Travel Insurance
The overseas travel medical insurance required for Schengen visa (visa C) and valid for all Schengen-countries has to cover the applicant for at least 30,000 Euros or equivalent, for all risks e.g. accident, illness, medical emergency evacuation, repatriation of mortals remains, etc.
The policy has to clearly specify the period of validity and has to cover the entire duration of the trip including the date of arrival & departure.
Only overseas travel medical insurance issued by the Philippine insurance companies listed here are accepted.
