Visa for visiting families and relatives, visiting friends and acquaintances, holiday, visit family member of Japanese living in Philippines and business purposes (not getting any reward/pay). You can stay up to 90 days using this visa type.

Applicants must select the correct visa category while booking an appointment. Changing of visa category is strictly not allowed and will not be entertained.

Visa Fees
- Temporary visitor visa for Philippine Nationals is gratis
- Diplomatic and Official visas are gratis
- For other visa fees, please check the Consular Fees.

Photo Specifications
Please submit one photograph along with your visa application. The photograph must be:
- Must not be taken more than 6 months before application time
- 45 mm x 35 mm
- Color photo with plain background

Taken looking straight forward and face seen clearly
Please do not use any textured paper to print the photo
Please note the Embassy may request for a new photo if it does not meet the specifications.

Processing Time
The time required for the visa application process until issuance, assuming there are no issues with the required documents, visa application, etc., typically takes a minimum of 6 business days from the day the application is received.
Cebu and Davao locations have a minimum of 10 business days the application is received.
However, if the number of applications is very high or if further checks are necessary, the process may take longer. Additionally, if there are doubts regarding the visa application, documents, etc., or if a thorough inspection by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Tokyo) is required, the visa issuance may take more than 1 month.
Therefore, it is advised to submit your application well in advance.
Furthermore, we do not recommend purchasing ticket/s before your visa is approved (except for transit visas, which require a purchased/fixed ticket).
If a ticket expire before the visa is issued, it is not the responsibility of the Japan Embassy or VFS Global Japan Visa Application Center.
