Temporary Visitor

Overview
Temporary visitor visa is for those who are visiting Japan up to 90 days for purposes of sightseeing, visits relatives, friends, or acquaintances; and short-term business affairs.
Please note that all of the above purposes of journey to Japan shall exclude any activities engaging or involving the management of business or remuneration.

All documents must be printed in A4 sized paper and must be readable.

Photo Specifications
Please submit one photograph along with your visa application. The photograph must be:
- Must not be taken more than 6 months before application time
- 45 mm x 35 mm
- Color photo with plain background
- Taken looking straight forward and face seen clearly
Please do not use any textured paper to print the photo
Please note the Embassy may request for a new photo if it does not meet the specifications.

Processing Time
It normally takes five (05) working days. Please make sure to apply in advance to avoid any inconvenience. In addition, there are some cases which may take longer to process your application depending on the individual circumstances.
Please Note:
Please note that this is an indicative processing time only. Processing time may increase or decrease at the discretion of the Embassy of Japan.
Furthermore, we do not recommend purchasing ticket/s before your visa is approved (except for transit visas, which require a purchased/fixed ticket).
If a ticket expire before the visa is issued, it is not the responsibility of the Japan Embassy or VFS Global Japan Visa Application Center.
VFS Global is involved only in non-judgmental task of visa processing and does not play any role in processing the visa application as this is entirely the prerogative of the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar.
Work or Long Term Stay (with Certificate of Eligibility)

Overview
Foreigners who would like to perform remunerative work in Japan or for long term stays over 90 days in Japan etc. which are for purposes other than that of temporary visitor, should apply for a “Certificate of Eligibility” in Japan at the Regional Immigration Bureau of Japan nearby before the visa application.

Overview
The visa is issued to foreign patients wishing to visit Japan for medical purposes (including full medical check-ups). The visa is issued to their accompanying person(s) as well if necessary and as needed.
