As part of its extension of services for the Government
of India, VFS Global has launched three new India
Visa Application Centres in South Africa. The centres
also offer passport and certain consular services to
South African residents. On 21 November 2016, HE Mrs
Ruchi Ghanashyam, High Commissioner of India to the
Republic of South Africa & the Kingdom of Lesotho, and
Dr K.J. Srinivasa, Consul General of India, Johannesburg,
inaugurated the India Visa Application Centre located
in Johannesburg. Two other centres were launched in
Durban and Cape Town for residents and non-resident
Indians in the country.
Speaking at the launch, HE Mrs Ruchi Ghanashyam
said, “I hope that with their vast experience in providing
outsourcing services for visa and passport services
across the world in a number of countries, VFS Global in
South Africa would also provide excellent services at its
centre in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town to the
applicants.”
To cater to the increased demand from residents
of South Africa to visit India for business, tourism,
education or medical purposes, the newly launched
centres offer longer operating hours to ensure larger
volumes of visa applications are processed.
