On 12 October 2016, VFS Global officially launched a
United Kingdom (UK) Visa Application Centre in Xi’an,
P.R. China. The centre was inaugurated by HE Dame
Barbara Woodward, British Ambassador to P.R. China;
Mr Shangguan Jiqing, Mayor of Xi’an; Ms Dominique
Hardy, UKVI Regional Director- Asia Pacific; and
Mr Bernard Vijaykumar, Regional Head – North Asia,
VFS Global.
The modern centre has spacious interiors, is located
in a well-connected area in Xi’an, and offers end-to-
end UK visa application processing services including
biometric data enrolment, collection of visa fees
and its remittance at the diplomatic mission. At this
centre, applicants can also avail a host of service
offerings including ‘Super Priority Visa’, ‘Walk-in Without
Appointment’, ‘Keep My Passport When Applying’, ‘Form-
filling Assistance’, document checks, etc. The centre
includes a Premium Lounge for applicants who wish to
avail of personalised services in a luxurious ambience.
In 2005, VFS Global launched UK visa application
services in P.R. China, for the first time in Beijing.
Gradually, the company expanded the client
government’s network in the country across cities
including Chengdu, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Shanghai,

The company manages visa application services for 26 client governments in P.R. China, through a
network of 211 Visa Application Centres, across 15 cities

Nanjing and Wuhan. Recently, a UK Visa Application
Centre was also started in Changsha.
