German Visa Application Centres launched in 6 countries across South East Asia

On 21 January 2019, H.E. Mr Peter Schoof, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Indonesia inaugurated the German Visa Application Centre in Jakarta, Indonesia. In addition to the centre, VFS Global has also rolled out its On-Demand Mobile Visa (ODMV) service for German visa applicants in Indonesia.

The German Embassy is very pleased to become part of the "European House" in the beautiful and modern facilities of VFS Global’s Visa Application Centre in Kuningan City. We are certain that this co-operation will further ensure smooth handling of German Schengen visa applications in Indonesia and add comfort and excellent customer service for our esteemed visa applicants.

A new German Visa Application Centre was launched in Ho Chi Minh City for the greater convenience and accessibility to applicants in Vietnam. The centre was inaugurated by Mr Andreas Siegel, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Vietnam, on 19 February 2019.

H.E. Dr Ingo Karsten, German Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, officially inaugurated the German Visa Application Centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on 28 February 2019, bringing Schengen visa services into the country.

This was followed by the launch of a German Visa Application Centre in Yangon, Myanmar on 4 March 2019. The centre was inaugurated by H.E. Ms Dorothee Janetzke-Wenzel, German Ambassador to Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

The German Embassy in Cambodia and Myanmar represents the Schengen countries of Austria, Finland, Italy, Luxemburg and the Netherlands.

H.E. Mr Jens Lütkenherm, Ambassador of Germany to Laos, inaugurated the German Visa Application Centre in the capital city of Vientiane on 15 March 2019. With this launch, VFS Global commenced visa application processing services in the country of Laos, adding it to the organisation's expanding operational landscape.

For years now, the number of visa applications received at the German Embassy in Vientiane increases successively. Our cooperation with the well experienced service provider VFS Global enables us to provide the usual reliable and quick service to our applicants even with increasing numbers.

The launch of a centre in Da Nang followed shortly after on 22 March 2019 by H.E. On 29 March 2019, a German Visa Application Centre was launched in the capital city of Myanmar, Nay Pyi Taw. Mr Maik Fischer, Head of Consular Department, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Myanmar; Mr Frank Rades, Head of Visa Department, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Myanmar and Mr Ferdinand D’Souza, Country Manager – Cambodia & Myanmar, VFS Global, inaugurated the centre in a formal ceremony in the city.

I am pleased to mention that the launch of this new centre greatly benefits the applicants residing in Mongolia who wish to travel to this popular destination in the Schengen region, as we continue to offer the highest standards of services for a hassle-free experience. Since establishing our operational presence in Mongolia in 2011, our operations have grown to service eight other Missions through our Visa Application Centres located in the city of Ulaanbaatar.

On 5 April 2019, H.E. Mr Stefan Duppel Hermann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia formally inaugurated the German Visa Application Centre in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in the presence of members of the Embassy of Germany in Mongolia, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Mongolia and other Missions, VFS Global management members and the media. Operations at the centre for short term Germany visa processing services commenced on 15 March 2019.

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ulaanbaatar represents 15 countries in Mongolia for Schengen short term visa processing services.

VFS Global has partnered with the Federal Foreign Office of Germany for visa processing services since 2005, with operations now spanning 26 countries via 65 Visa Application Centres. In early 2018, the Federal Foreign Office of Germany had selected VFS Global to manage German visa applications in two additional regions -the Middle-East and North Africa.
