Overview
Temporary visitor visa is for those who are visiting Japan up to 90 days for purposes of sightseeing, visits relatives, friends, or acquaintances; and short-term business affairs.
Please note that all of the above purposes of journey to Japan shall exclude any activities engaging or involving the management of business or remuneration.

The Japan Visa Application Centre in Singapore also provides additional services for your convenience at nominal cost.
- Photocopying services - (Black and white A4 size) - SGD 0.50/per page

The Embassy of Japan will continue to accept applications from Diplomatic and Official passport holders and applicants traveling on humanitarian emergency to Japan or visa transfer of issued visa to new passport.

Visa fees will be waived for foreign nationals visiting Miyagi, Fukushima, or Iwate prefectures.

Transit visa

Overview
For travellers (excluding nationals of visa waiver countries) who are stopping over in Japan while en route to another country due to flight schedules, a transit visa is needed. In the case of travellers visiting someone in Japan, or if the main purpose is for sightseeing or business, he/she should apply for a Temporary Visitor visa instead.

This visa is a short-term stay visa (temporary visit not exceeding 90 days) for a foreigner currently living with a Japanese spouse outside of Japan.

Long-term visa for a spouse of Japanese Nationals

Overview
Foreigners whose spouse is a Japanese national will be eligible to apply for this type of visa if the foreigner and the Japanese spouse are going to enter and stay together in Japan for long-term residence more than 90days. Foreigners visiting Japan for holiday purpose with the Japanese spouse are not eligible to apply for this visa as it is considered “Temporary Visit”.

Overview
The visa is for the purpose of business affairs for the first visit, Temporary visits refer to short-term stays not exceeding 90 days for business purposes, e.g. market surveys, business liaison, business talks, conference, signing contracts, and after-sale service for machinery imported into Japan. However, this visa does not permit income deriving or profit making activities. Applicant can apply for a Double-Entry visa if he/she has to make two trips to Japan within a 6-month period for such purposes.
However, activities to undertake revenue generating business operations or activities to receive remuneration are not permitted.

Overview
A domestic helper holding a valid Singapore work permit accompanying her employer to Japan, for example, for taking care of her employer's child(ren) during the trip or to assist elderly member(s) of the employer's family, can apply for a Temporary-Visitor visa.
Domestic helpers intending to travel without their employers will not be eligible to apply for visa in Singapore.

Overview
Period of stay 6 months.
(However, maximum 1 year period will be granted if eligible individuals apply for the extension of period of stay to the Regional Immigration Bureau, Ministry of Justice, before the 6-month period of permitted stay is to expire.)
Eligibility for Applicant
- Individual at the age of 18 years or older and has savings equivalent to more than 30 million Japanese yen owned by you and your spouse
- Accompanying spouse of the individual who is mentioned in 1 above (he or she must have the same place of residence and travel together in Japan.)
(Note) Dependent children cannot be allowed to accompany.
(Note) If your spouse wishes not to accompany you but stay separately under this scheme, you and your spouse must own savings equivalent to more than 60 million Japanese yen. The accompanying spouse (referred to in 2 above) is not required to enter Japan with the individual (referred to in 1 above), but he or she cannot enter Japan before the individual. For more details on the requirements of “accompanying spouse,” please contact the Immigration Bureau, Ministry of Justice.
